Kids with short ass attention spans don't take time to actually take the time and listen to what the artist is saying and trying to figure out what they meant by that line or verse or whatever. Im 27 and have loved rap since I first heard it when I was probably barely walking and still one of my favorite things to do when I listen to music is go look up the lyrics if something caught my attention then ill listen to it again and all that and actually understand what they were feeling when they wrote that or what they meant with that line. I love that shit when u find a subliminal or sneak diss towards another rapper and u can figure out who they're talking about. I mean do kids today even go back and listen to a song over and over to catch every little thing they put in that song and understand it? I doubt it cause these new dudes don't say shit on a track that matters or means a fucking thing anyway so there's nothing to listen for unlike rap when I was young. Now its just about beats I guess. Idk why u can be an absolutely ass terrible rapper and be making money and famous and shit and ppl actually consider u to be a good rapper. I’m with you. I don’t know..correct me if I’m wrong but his flow is very reminiscent of Big L. Real MC’s are diluted because they have to sell records. Here he’s just riding the beat and enjoying himself. I think the record labels pressure artists to be something they aren’t and we end up with mainstream BS. It’s all for radio play numbers and unfortunately the structure and greed muzzles this type of talent.
