I actually have seen this phenomenon, when I was a kid, he stood by the door and just looked at us. A rain coat and a hat like that. I'll never forget it.

I remember seeing him as a child, I was very young around 4 or 5 years old. I don't have many memories from this age but this has stayed etched in my mind. I remember seeing him at the front door through the window it was raining that night. I have only ever seen him once, I'm now 45.

My interactions with the hat man were completely different. My sister and I had seen him a few times at night at a young age. We discussed these sightings for the first time when we became adults, around 20 years old. But for us, we didn’t have any negative interactions with the hat man. He was just there existing causing no problems.
Dude I had nightmares for over a week and he was present in some of them, I remember he held me close and shouted in my face, I was really scared, but after some time I had a series of experiences that could’ve ended my life. When they were over, and only then, I could remember what he said in those dreams, like if up until that moment my brain was not able to process it.
It was a warning. I really think the experiences in those dreams oriented me in how to preserve my own life.
I had a similar experience. He was just stood there at the end of my bed, with a small group of other shadow people (ranging in ages from kids to elders, Could only see shadow outlines though) but it wasn't scary or intimidating. It was like they were just observing and thinking what to do. It was odd. I never thought anything of it at the time and went about my life but then came across some of these video's as an adult about the hat man and it made my blood turn cold because I thought.. I have seen that, I thought it was just my imagination. So strange.

Spent most of my childhood being frightened of hat man.He initially only acknowledged me,but then would torment me with heading over to my sisters bed.The powerlessness to do anything to stop him was horrid.Once we moved out of that house in my teens,I would only dream him waiting at the end of the driveway.I eventually spoke to him in my dream,shouted NO woke myself up still saying it.Then he was gone,until I moved out of home got really sick and then he reappeared in my dreams while I was sick.But once I was well no more hat man.Many years have now passed since,no more hat man and I hope it will stay that way.

The character Freddy Kreuger from A Nightmare on Elm Street steals some ideas from this type of entity. I once encountered him in a dream. He was angry at me because I was investigating about ghost. He was sitting in a chair and didn't move or say anything, but he made me feel a dread that I had never felt before or after
I had a few dreams in a row with the hat man in first night I was scared but as the other nights went by I wasn't scared we'd just stare a little and then I'd just go back to sleep... In my dream 😂 I'm going to put to I was going through a stressful time never encountered anything paranormal but I've been interested about it all with an open mind so maybe why I ended dreaming of the hat man as well I didn't feel like I was in danger and I didn't feel like it was aggressive just observing it was a few years ago don't have those dreams now it's rare I remember dreams I only remember dreams if they are repeated which usually goes on for a week. Speaking of dreams both me and my partner had the same dream every night for a week about him committing suicide at the time he got help after that other times and it's been recently I've dreamt about my partner passing away 🤷
My experience was almost identical to "Sarah's". I was about 6 years old. My parents were out for the night and I was staying with a babysitter. At the time, I lived in a 4th story apartment. My bedroom had a window looking out and a closet on the opposite side. After being put to bed, I woke up randomly in the middle of the night. I turned to my left towards my closet... And I saw them. I say THEM because on the closet door, I saw the silhouette of the Hat Man and another shadow person with him that looked to be the size of a kid. I froze in terror trying not to move so they wouldn't notice me. The Hat Man was interacting with the other shadow, making hand motions that seemed to translate to "Calm down" or "Everything is gonna be ok". It was super weird. This lasted for what felt like forever... I closed my eyes and covered myself with the blanket and stayed there until I finally fell asleep. As a kid, my fav movie was Jurassic Park... So I chalked it up to my mind imagining Alan Grant (As he too wears a brim hat). Now that I know more people have seen the exact same thing... I don't think it was my imagination at all.
I saw it in my bedroom around the age of 4-5 years. Always near the bedroom door or peering in. Fedora styled hat, long trench coat. This was back in the 1970s long before I think the phenomenon became well known.

My family and I were on vacation in a hotel in California by Disneyland, scared me so bad I told my family what I had saw immediately (after I gained the courage to get up). They took me to the 24hr emergency clinic, told me I just needed to go back and try and sleep. This was about 14 years ago today, I wont ever forget what I saw that night.

It's almost like he's a projection. Like its a secret government project to teleport stuff but they havent quite figured it out how to do it physically but they can still do it in projection. On their end is a man, a perfectly normal person standing in a room wearing inspector gadget clothes to conceal identity(maybe out of humor), he enters a room that looks like the holodeck from Star Trek with a grid lining the floor,ceiling and walls. In that room they can project any place on the planet in real-time. The man wearing the coat and hat can only move as far as the walls around him but he can see you and your room and everything even beyond the physical grid on the walls but he can't interact.
ON YOUR END, the projection portal is opened but there is no sound or smell, just a sudden feeling of dread, a side effect of the field produced. Then that hat man we all know sort of appears as if he'd always been standing there. We only see his silhouette. The projection field is so strong it acts as a natural barrier built completely of of fear and dread keeping the individual from over trying to reach out and touch it. Then he vanishes. Every single person is just experiencing tests but they just don't realize it.

I had an encounter with the Hat Man many, many years ago. I was very young, three years old. I will be 53 in two weeks so, 50 years ago. It wasn't a dream, I can assure you of that. This video brought the memory of him flooding back with a vengeance.

It is possible to remember, from very little age than your life parts, i remember i was stuck lock my foot to small hole an old pipe hole, i was near to 2.5 max. The Hatman appears after paranormal, ritual and astral travel events. He should probably be someone like a protector of unknown dimensions... He scares people to keep them away for this reason.

Had an moment I felt like I was dying and came back to life, was not doing good at the time but had the real feeling i went somewhere, the night after I went for a walk and I saw him in the middle of the road, for some reason i went towards him and after some steps he vanished, never have before of since had experiances like that
I first saw this entity when I was nine years old. I had terrifying Out of Body Experiences as a child, many of which brought for accurate premonitions that frightened my family. When I first found out that countless people are experiencing this same entity, chills went down my spine.
I also had Many out of body experience as a toddler, weird thing is I still remember it, because it felt real!! And after some years, maybe when I was 6 or 7 years old, I saw this Hat Man.
I saw him a few months ago before I knew there even was a hat man, but he looked a bit different than described in the video. He had on a shorter brimmed hat, maybe a trilby, and had a double breasted suit that had those old pinstripes, though it was hard to make out as he was mostly all black including his clothes as the pinstripes were only visible on his lower pant legs near his wingtip shoes, and from other ghost stories as far as I’m concerned, I just let him stay at my house as he only haunts my dreams, and my dreams are wild in the first place, so it’s almost like he’s just editing them 😂

Honestly, the majority of these cases suggest a trauma response, perhaps sleep paralysis but definitely trauma. There seem to be traumatic events preceding them.

I saw him in the hospital while I was actively dying from a septic infection. It was terrifying. I agree it's likely a trauma response.
I saw him one night when I was alone, sleeping in an easy chair. I had bronchitis, no fever. I was 45. Not a child. I saw him from the corner of my eye . I got a feeling of concern from him. He tilted his head. I turned my head, and he vanished. I never heard of him before that. I was amazed by the stories all over the world.
I just had an experience with him last week. I did not even know it was a thing. I was not scared and just walked right up to him feeling his energy. I was dizzy for about 5 minutes because of the intense energies I felt with him.

When I was 21 I was in a drug induced coma for 3 weeks, during that ordeal I remember him sitting next to me. I didn't feel afraid, I asked him questions and he just flicked the Ace of spades card at me. A few months ago I asked an AI why was the Hat Man with me during my coma? It replied "He was there to protect you when no one else could."

I had a sleep paralysis incident more than 20 years ago as a teenager. I saw a shadow thing, but not this guy. It was huge and amorphous. It had glowing red eyes and it smiled at me the whole time. I couldn't see its teeth, but I could feel it smiling at my fear. It started at the foot of my bed, then came around to the right side, next to me. Then it backed away toward my closet and went inside of it. I saw its eyes "go out" one at a time as if it were turning its head away from me.
I jumped up and turned on my light and wrote "It was not a dream" on a 3x5 note card on the desk next to my bed.

My ex girlfriend saw him once. She was so freaked out she was crying running down the stairs and I called the cops because she thought someone broke in the apartment. The cops searched the apartment but didn’t find anything suspicious.

I saw the hat man as a teenager way back in the seventies, standing in the doorway of my bedroom. He was very tall and dressed all in black. His hat was like a cross between a top hat and a cowboy hat. I have also seen the old hag and experienced sleep paralysis associated with the presence of small humanoid entities in my room going back to childhood. I think these entities prey on young people and children.

I saw one on a tram in Warsaw, Poland. I was 10 years old and a woman next to me saw it too. She ran out the tram door right before it closed. I was left in the tram with him as he tried to open the tram door. Then, he sat back down. I looked away from him as I knew he meant her harm. I thought if I looked away he would do the same. I walked out of the tram without looking back. 😊I’m alive. And grateful. It was a very uneasy moment
I don't place much stock in paranormal tales but I do think there is something to this one. I have a good friend who has been terrorized by this entity since she was a child and it still appears to her 30 years later no matter where she lives. Her cats start behaving oddly anytime it appears and when she went to a psychic the psychic knew immediately she had an evil entity stalking her. Very creepy I worry about my friend.

Shortly after my sister got married and moved out, I remember her telling me about seeing the hat man where she lived. This was back in the 80's. I didn't think anything of it back then, but was chilled to the bone when others started describing him.
I was listening to Music while sleeping on the 30th of january 2024. The time was 7:53 (i took a screenshot) when i woke. I had been dreaming of the hat man following me. The hat was a gray cotton hat, the ribbon was of black silk. The hats rim was rounded upward and the hat top was aswell. He was wearing a suit and tie. A song i had never heard before was playing and is called «do you dream of me too?» its very eerie. I had never heard of the hat man. I found out about the hat man today and i had to be taken in an ambulance today for a medical emergency. (Prior to finding out) This is too creepy ngl and im not even spiritual.
Apparantly my experience is very unique since i cant find anyone else who got followed by him and its usually in sleep paralasis. It wasnt that dark but still no face details. I will add that i was in a bad place mentally during that time and was with a girl that would do self harm ritual with blood and candles. I think this was around the time she told me about it.

Well, this was maybe 2017? 2018? One night, a Monday, I had a dream of a man with a hat (I noted it’s brims were bigger than a fedora) and a black coat. His face was burning and he was hollering in pain and I couldn’t help him. He was just holding his burning face. I woke up. Nothing Tuesday. Then Wednesday night, I had a dream of a little girl on a swing set in the middle of a field. Very Alice. Blonde hair and a blue and white dress. Next thing I know, he’s standing right behind her. His hat was tipped down so I couldn’t see his face, but he opened his coat and it was just… blackness. Empty. He enveloped her into his coat. I woke up. Nothing Thursday. Then Friday… man. Friday night, in my dream, I was in a small room. The only light was a small window where moonlight peaked in. I was huddled in the corner, crying, shaking. And he just stood there, looming over me. Staring at me. His eyes were wide, almost poking out his skull, unblinking. His skin was burned badly. But the worst part was his grin. He quite literally had a grin going ear from ear. And he just stayed there, staring at me, grinning as I huddled up frightened. It felt like an eternity. I never really believed in heaven or God, but if there’s a thing as hell, I certainly was in my own. It traumatized me for so long. It wasn’t until maybe a few months later, I found out other people had seen him! Exact descriptions like how his hat was more long brimmed than a fedora and the black coat, and even sometimes a burned face. It was… shocking. He was real. Or at least, I wasn’t the first or only person to face him. It shook me to my core.

My dog alerts the family to what’s usually a visited, except this time it’s a black shadow I’ve never seen in my life steering at the house with an emotion of hate. I went back to the kitchen to get some protection and when I returned, it was still there!! I go outside to further Pursue it and as I get about 2 metres with in, it teleports. Never heard of the Hatman before this video but... When I was around the age of five or six me and my siblings would play in my grandma's basement. My grandmother lived on an old farm in Franklin county IA. There were abandon rooms in her basement that haven't been touched in many years were covered in decay and dark as hell. A terrifying but fun place if you had a goodtime scaring your sister! One time we were playing in the basement, btw we were not allowed down there by any means. We were playing hide and seek. I went to go hide underneath the staircase, I knew my sister was to afraid to look there. When I looked into the dark crevasse what I thought to be the perfect hiding spot. Was two beady red eyes on nothing but a shadowy figure staring into my soul. I never went down there again. Something about this Hatman freaks me out.
You have seen a regular shadow ghost these are pretty common ghost to be seen at night or in untouched places unlike that hat man which is very rare. They are not known to hurt humans they are said to be more curious about humanity.
Franklin County as in Mount Vernon Texas? I saw him too around 4 or 5 years old and I always told everyone this is what I saw before I’d ever even heard about it online. It was an older rental house and he just stared at me and put his finger on his lips telling me to shhhhh
I stumbled across this video by accident and I just can’t believe that the experience I had as a child, nearly 40 years ago, is something so many others have also had! I’ve told lots of people about seeing a ghost when I was a child. He was at the side of my bed dressed in old fashioned Victorian clothes and had what I’ve always called a ‘Top Hat’. He was stood looking into the distance, then he turned his head and stared straight at me. He then vanished. I was terrified. I have Major Depressive Disorder with Psychotic Features and the hat man is one of my hallucinations.

Probably the most sinister life like dream I had had to do with this thing. He/it was looking through one of the small 6x6 window cutout outside our front door late at night. A tangible amount hate for me/us as a species came from it. Dark as hell and sinister. Like it satiated at wanting to crush me and once I was crushed it wanted to crush the crushed parts kind of thing. Around this time I was dabbling in some new age meditations and astral projecting. Also, a man with a lot of troubles entered our families life around that time and I often wondered if this entity was/is real, was it brought about by me dabbling in that stuff or did the man who entered our life bring that thing with him? Either way, I've never felt or sensed anything that evil/void of light before.

I saw it in the 80s when I was 7 or 8 years old. I woke up in the night and it just stood in the doorway silently. It was darker than the dark… I did not have sleep paralysis. I don’t remember for certain, but I think i turned the light on and it was just gone. I saw him in 1987. He was sitting on a desk, staring at me from across my bedroom. You are correct that he is "blacker than black." I saw only a shape and no details. I looked him up and down and saw no arms or feet where there should have been appendages. It just ended. Did you also see the glowing red/yellow eyes?

I experienced the hat man around 2010-2011 when I was in my early 30’s. Driving down a gravel road without anything or anyone else around. It was around dusk, I was driving really slow. Suddenly he appeared standing in the road in front of me. Black but somewhat translucent. Couldn’t make out any hands, feet, or facial image. Still a tall human shape with what appeared to be a trench coat and top hat. The experience lasted around 20-30 seconds and he walked off into the woods. I’ve never seen it again.
I also seen it around 2011. I was so curious i grabbed my dog, got close and it instantly teleported. I also describe it as translucent and grey/foggy

Ive seen him multiple times only when i have been doing mdma, seen him walk past me, standing on a roof and the last time i seen him he was walking across a field, he then opened a portal and travelled through. I want to just put it down to the mdma i was doing but its hard too when all pf my mates have seen him by themselves and we have seen him at the same time. He didn't seem malicious or anything. Saw him twice: In my parents house in the 80s and then at my parents store in the early 90s.
I seen him 20 years ago when I was 16. He was no shadow but a frighteningly detailed wraith of something that may have once been human. He had grey and moist skin like that of a corpse and eyes so bloodshot and red. He wore a top hat and a long black coat. If he was ever human then his spirit has become so twisted by evil and darkness that he feeds from fear, misery and addiction. I will never forget what I seen in my bedroom doorway. He needs a door you see, to enter our subconscious he must have a door. I seen him long before I heard of him (by a decade) long before tiktok or the benadryl challenge. He is real. And part of me is dreadfully aware that one day I will see him again. Oh and he showed me a pocket watch. Anyone else seen him with a pocket watch? It seems significant.

The being I saw also wore a top hat and wore a long black coat. He was very tall and his skin ashen gray. I saw this being in the 90’s… I’m 38 now. I never saw a watch. He never showed me anything. He just stared at me with an intensity I’d never seen on someone before. I was terrified and put my covers over my head and waited till I could hear the birds chirping… I stayed up night not moving. When I heard birds, I knew it was daylight and was brave enough to come out from under my covers. Wild stories. Dunno. I wouldn’t believe me if I heard me say this.
Yes I've seen his gold pocket watch before I think another time it was silver, but he stood over me in the dark and the watch was just slowly spinning in my face as I was laying down

I've never seen the Hatman, but I had my own experience with a shadow man. I'll spare the details but he somehow attached himself to me. It took me 13 hrs to get rid of it. When someone tried to banish it from me, they done so without binding it first. Thing almost unalived me. It wasn't like anything I ever felt since..like it had tried to crush my heart from the inside. Fortunately, the goddess I worship came to my defense. I remember the terror I had whenever this thing was near me. The sleep paralysis , other Things science couldn't explain.

My son had said he couldn’t sleep cause he felt like someone was watching him from the corner shadow of the bedroom ( WHICH HES NEVER SAID BEFORE/ OR HERE AFTER) I stayed in his room while he fell asleep and then hours later when I went to bed I thought how weird that was that he said he was being watched. I didn’t feel anything at the time. I had fallen asleep only to be woke up in the middle of the night and now I did feel someone watching me.
I couldn’t move - I could only open my eyes. I felt this electric fuzzy blanket that had been laying on top of me. That whatever I was experiencing was a direct reaction to this feeling.
As I’m laying in my bed totally freaking out I keep telling myself “move, move anything” after a few mins that felt like forever my arm swings down in this weird jerky motion and as it did it hit the space between my bed frame and mattress where I have this metal pole I keep for emergency’s. My hand hits it as my arm swings down and makes a clink sound
As fast as my arm moved, hatman disappears and slowly the electric blanket feeling starts to alleviate and a few seconds after everything had calmed down I bursted out into tears in the middle of the darkness of my bedroom. Confused at what just happened I got up and ran to look out the door frame of my room to see if I could see anything and I did not see anything.
I jumped back into my bed grabbed my cell phone and started to google WTF just happened
I couldn’t go back to sleep so That morning I stopped at my church and got holy water. I spoked my house out w sage, sprayed the holy water in the door frame as a sign of the cross and said our father at every door. And although I haven’t experienced hatman ever again, I can close my eyes and see / feel that experience like it just happened an hour. It still feels so fresh.

I sow this multiple times when I was around 14-16. It was like 8 times at least. I remembered this my whole life and in my 20s started to looking for some more informations. I have seen this thing. I was young. Around 10 or 11, when it appeared in my room.
I woke up to the strange sensation of my bed shaking, gently, and watched as a shadow arose from the floor, next to my bed.
It was tall, looked very solid and had the unmistakable profile of a man in a top hat.
I rolled onto my back to sit up and ask him/it who they were, but was stopped by the sudden feeling of a weight on my chest. It didn't move, but it felt like it was coming from him.
It seemed to hold me like that for a couple of seconds, before sinking back into the floor.
I've never been too concerned about things like that, even as a child, so I went back to sleep.
The following morning, my mother told me off for scaring my brother in the night.
We shared a room, at the time, and he told her that he had seen someone come up from the floor in the night.
She thought it was me, messing around, but half changed her mind when I explained what I had seen, with my story matching his.
Since that night I have seen various other odd things. Some of them have been pretty disconcerting.
But, I've never seen the one in the hat, again.

I saw the hat man around ten years ago in a hotel room. However he was a bit different to many of these stories. He had a short stature, distinct facial features and shoulder length wavy grey hair. He was facing the side and wearing head to toe leather. I initially had anxiety about this experience but now I find it fascinating that so many people have had a similar experience.

And he had wavy greasy hair to his shoulders and he looked extremely evil as if he was there to celebrate my death and claim my soul. I used to see shadow people regularly when In drug induced psychosis. They never bothered me until I saw this guy. He slowly walked towards me and then stood beside me while on crystal meth for around 2 hours while I ignored him and refused to look at him. This is a real thing… it would stand in hallways stopping me in straight fear when I was a child. There was even a time it locked my mother in the washroom. That’s was the longest 5-10 minutes of my life easily. Good thing is my mom didn’t think I was crazy. That black hat and that feeling will never be forgotten. Years I thought I was the only one. When I was very young I was fascinated by the figure used to advertise Sandeman port, a figure known as "The Don." There was no objective reason for this but I recall that there was a large image of this figure in the window of an off licence near where I lived and I would always stop and stare at it. This memory may not be true. It is possible that my parents had a bottle of Sandeman port in their drinks cabinet but I can't be sure. I never had any dreams or visions of anybody like this figure but it clearly bears a striking similarity to the Hat Man and I suspect that my fascination with the Don suggests that such a figure is the personification of the same deep seated fears.

I've been seeing The Hat Man since around 5 yrs old im now 60 and no matter where I live i see him, it's almost like he's following me through my life and watched me grow up. The hat man is a demon. You asked if they chose us or if we chose them - we chose them. Demons are very legalistic and they must be given permission to engage us. I keep having black orbs fly around me and my brother. They fly extremely fast and in impossible ways they defy physics, including speed and direction. They typically fly around my head in a complete circle. I have one of them in slowmotion on video, so they are real and I am really seeing them. Normally when they do so I'll be in a very meditative state of open mindness.
To combo that, I've had dreams of demonic shadow people invading my dreams. I do not have physical evidence of those, but they are real. They also invade my twin brothers on the same nights at the same time with the goal of scaring the shit out of us to make us fear them as absolute evil. Just indescribable fear.
We have had other supernatural encounters, such as being sent back in time by 50ish minutes one time, and seeing shadow people in real life.
Interestingly enough, I've had one very extreme case recently, about 3 days ago.
And my brother sees a shitton of black and white orbs around our vicinity all the time, but im less open to it right now.
Anyway
I went to bed listening to 525 hertz music that was supposed to be relaxing and Kickstart meditation, and my brother was sleeping on the bunkbed with it to.
So we fall asleep, and roughly 1 am (guestimating time) in the morning we have a dream.
In my dream there is a doppelganger (name I gave it) that clones my dog. Normally it will clone my Alive dog, Flynn. But he passed away about 1.5 years ago, and I haven't seen this dopple ganger demon in my dreams for about 3 years. But I looked at it and I told it that Flynn was dead, instantly making me realize that I was having the dopple ganger nightmare again. So after that it said, "Oh, I didn't know that." To me telepathically. Anyway, it goes away, and comes back as my alive dog, whome I'm very close to. I believe it was a test, to see whether I could differentiate between the fake dopple ganger demon and my real dog. So anyway, I stomped the shit out of the doppelganger demon. It then melted away in a white clay unfusing kind of way, but I did not fear it anymore.
After that, I ran to my mom's room and set in her bed. And I've had other dreams like this and her bed for some reason is an untouchable safe zone for me. So anyway, I was on her bed on high alert spinning around looking for more shadow demons. While spinning around I made eye contact with a shadow figure, through a wall/portal I saw through. He had a black tophat/fedor on and was in a very VERY fancy suit. He was also a completely black shadow figure. We made eye contact through the wall for a split second while I was spinning then he disappeared.
And for simplicity sake, just know that the fancy shadow man was the same one that was getting killed by my brother in his dream that night.
My brother was fighting the fancy shadow man in his dream, which ended with him killing it. My brother said he saw it a little different than a shadow figure with more detail, but still the same guy.
But the weird part is is that the wall I saw through was directly pointed in the direction of my grandma's house, which is where he teleported to fight the shadow figure to the death. He said he got forcefully teleported there and that my grandma helped him kill the fancy shadow man.
Anyway, back to my dream that was happening at the same time of night, also we conveniently woke up 3 minutes apart.
Anyway, in the dream after , I had split second spinning eye contact with the fancy shadow man in my brother's dream a demonic fear incarnate itself black shadow woman appear in my dreams. She had soaking wet hair and may have had facial features comparable to a witch, it's hard to remember. She had ILLEGALLY and FORCEFULLY forced her way into my dream with 3 mirrors/portals.
Not sure why, but she was way to powerful and evil to be a part of the trials of that dream.
She should not have been allowed to be in my dream or connected to my dream, that's a very important detail.
So anyway, she used 3 mirror/portals. My mirror was my mom's headrest mirror (3ish ft by 4ish in a rectangle) her mirror was whatever it was and then there was another mirror inbetween that connected her mirror to my mirror.
Allowing her to not be "in my dream" or "connected" to my dream.
When I saw her though I froze. I couldn't move, think, or react.
Just absolute fear about what would happen if she got her hands on me. Not death fear, but never ending torture of the worst kind possible to ruin me kind of way. and keep in mind I felt no fear while directly looking at the hat man, and honestly we where equal in spiritual power. That is how powerful and evil that shadow woman was, I mean my God I will never forget the feeling. And my brother also murdered the hatman in his dream, so you guys might not have to see him anymore.
So I froze, and then, and I've made it instinctual, I said, "holy spirit of the white light surround me and all those I love in a ball of impenetrable white light. Evil is not welcome here evil is not welcome here evil is not welcome here.
Then I felt absolutely no fear infront of this absolute evil creature. I was looking at her, roughly 50 ft away through all 3 mirrors. And the line "and all those I love." Also teleported my brother to my grandma's house and allowing him to have absolute control of the fancy shadow demon in his dream. Also, before he was in my grandma's kitchen killing it, he was in his room. It was dark and rainy out, no, I'm not making this up off some movie, and he looked out the window instinctual. He saw some black fancy shadow suit guy and when it noticed him it teleported I side his room. Then after I said holy light... all those I love, then he got teleported to my grandma's kitchen. But interestingly enough, I had my mom in my dream and he had our grandma, but neither of them remember this apparently or maybe it wasn't really them.
Anyway, evil shadow in the mirror.
After having absolute confidence, I said it a second time with no fear or waver since I was then untouchable.
So anyway, I said it again
After I said it the second time, the mirror inbetween me and her SHATTERED bringing her from 50ft and 3 mirrors away to 3 ft away with her mirror and my mirror separating us (which just looked like one mirror)
So after that I looked at her and said it a third time.
When I said it the third time she was on her knees, just waiting while staring at the ground. Then out of nowhere this creature appear to my right. And I say creature because it's like a torn photo, I have no recollection of what it looked like or was, but I know something was there. It's just a hole in my memory. And it was completely normally to me in that moment, no questions asked.
So after it appear I knew I had won and was safe, however, this worries me because this is the first time the holy spirit line has ever been tricked. Normally when I say it all the black demonic shadow figures are forced out of my dreams and or while they run out of my dreams then I wake up, HOWEVER, this thing not only stayed in my dream after I said it one time but also infiltrated my dream unnoticed by the creature, which I believe was my guardian angel.
And the guardian angel did not realize this thing had infiltrated my dreams until the 2nd time I said, shattering the portal.
Anyway, after the creature appeared I knew I had won and was safe. I had passed the doppleganger demon test and my brother passed his fancy shadow man test.
The shadow woman just abused a loophole to get into that test.
So when the creature appear I knew I was about to wake up again, and looked at the slumped over shadow woman and said, "Bitch." And I normally would say fuck you, it's just that bitch was the exact definition of what she was.
Was definitely an interesting experience though, I tried to explain it the best I could through words.
In the end
It Turned out fine, but I'll never forget the fear I felt while looking at it. Absolute fear, it was terrible. I've seen evil shadow people before but that evil shadow woman was extremely smart, cunning, and the most evil thing I have ever encountered. Just exuding the fear onto me. She could only look at me and make me fear her though since apparently she wasn't allowed to come directly into my dream for whatever reason.
So in ranking order for least to strongest:
Shadow orbs: Physical purest form of shadow people and allows them to interact with physical world in no clip mode.
Standard shadow people: No details
Shadow beasts: Interact with the physical world
Shadow Dreamwalkers: Harass you while you sleep

Typically only the details one are evil, but if you ever see the hat man your lucky. I had no fear when I saw him, which made the evil shadow woman risk everything to get in my dream for whatever reason.

I have seen hat man, interstingly right before the moment i could hear my cousins upstairs above me, like i was in the room. As if i was astral travelling, or hat man stretched me in a spiritual way as part pf triggering the moment.
Ive had perhaps two dreams of the woman, no sleep paralysis moments, but she was like you described a visitor to the dream. Felt like she was outside of me, a powerful force sharing dreamspace.
The first was an adventurous dream i dont remember, but in it i wlaked into an apartment flat type room. There was an old woman in a chaor in the left. There was a fire and i think a window. I domt know what hapoened by i know it was like a wall. I either used the orange glow of fire to keep her from doing anything, or i thi k of it and can imagine the orange fore glow as mine that i can spread for defense and protection. I know thats weird but i think you get me.
Second was a dream about a childhood neighborhood amd people, which was interuptted again by this similar presence. The dream group was definitley afraid amd effected. She was felt in the farm fields of grass. Ive always called her the witch of the weeds ever since.
I havent had her dream presence since that i know of, but on three seperate occasions in one place as an adult i was comfronted by the breathing hag. Its guttural loud breathing that gets louder on each breath until the last ones are like screaming breaths. Hag like sounds.
First time me and my girl both heard it. Second i was alone. Third i was sleeping in my car because of crazy kittens inside. Just getting some peace for sleep. I heard nouse across the street like as if neighbors were outside talking. Something then walked up to the car amd was at the window by my head. It was the breathing thing. It dod its thi g and stopped. I did not once look up.
Same place, and heres my addition. I had my worst dream, amd i swear it was over a small clown. It was a evil grinned midget clown, but like a demon, a very terrible demon. It ran around with that locked grin, and in the drwam you could never look at it. Never ever let it have your attention.
I did, and then i was put into the torture. I was forced into a pen amd paper test, amd tje amswers had to be right or else thos great great awful terror was coming. Idk what it was. Each question was brain melting. It was like the equivalemt of counting grains of sand while grains of sand are being dumped into the equation.
I finally couldnt take it and i stress woke up. Then, amd ive never felt anything like this before, when i awoke i felt the clown downstairs in the kitchen. As i went from nightmare fear to human wtf is going on, i felt it leave through the wall.

Three nights ago I got up right before four am, as I walked to the kitchen and got a drink of water, from the motion of putting the cup to my lips, in that millisecond, I saw a hat man in my living room, I'm a bipolar so I wasn't sure if i hallucinating it, or it was there, either way, I didn't react, I just went back to sleep
I have seen the Marlboro man shadow. He walked through my house once. Years ago. Walked right through a wall. Once and only once a few years ago. I tried to recreate it but couldn’t get a shadow in that same spot without some serious work
The fact that everyone describes the same being is intriguing.
Saw him. Mine had a cowboy hat, leaning on a wall, 1 pointy cowboy boot propped up, and smoking. The smoke was real, tangible. Most frightening moment of my life.

This is the first I'm hearing of this hat man..... I was with a friend doing acid and we both saw him. We didn't mention we saw him until we stopped tripping.
He was sitting in a chair in a corner of the room. I asked my friend, who's that guy and she was like huh? I didn't get any bad vibes though more of a protector vibe.. a warning vibe. Keeping fckin around and he'll walk you down a dark hallway to your next life

Ive actually had multiple lengths of time in my youth that i had encounters with this "hat man". I was never paranoid or scared when i would see him. I was always calm and just focused on whatever it was i was doing. Which was almost always walking home late at night in darkness. He would always appear by a tall tree. I would say he would appear about 10 feet tall. But i would.only catch brief glimpses. Never an extended period of me just staring straight at it. I never felt in danged though. I was always calm and just accepted it and kept moving on. I used to never open up about this. S9 many people have seen the same thing though, in different ways of course. It seems that it is a negative thing though. Thats the part that baffles mw, why did i never feel threatened or in danger? All around just strange.
I didn't feel much danger. It creeped up but I never let it take over. What motivated me was curiosity.
@@HexagonSun990 yea I was curious as well. Just as a side note, I only started seeing this hat man sometime after my step grandfather died. It destroyed me as a kid no older than 10-11. Sometimes I figured it was him.just kind of watching over me but as I read all these accounts it makes me think maybe it was an entity that could feel my vulnerability. I don't know though.
Ive had this a few times, one when i was much younger and one recently. The most recent time was when i was trying to get a good nights sleep because i only ever get a few hours of rest, I had finally fallen asleep and what seemed like a few seconds later i had awoken to my near pitch black room which was only lit up by the dim light from my fan. I couldnt move my body but i could move my head, I couldnt see much because i didnt have my glasses on. but i could make out the distinct figure of him in the corner beside the door; Tall (Maybe around 6 feet tall), He had a hat (It seemed to be a mix between a fedora and top hat), Raincoat. It was faceless but i could tell it was staring at me. I wouldnt exactly say it was frightening, I almost felt a sense of strange peace. Maybe about a minute passed and i could move again, I got up from the bed but it was already gone. I still see him every once and a while in the corner of my eye, But everytime i look it just seems to vanish. I never knew it was a worldwide thing until i looked it up recently, peculiar indeed.
Same for me i was a kid and he was just in the doorway looking at me..almost like he was studying me or idk… i am a grown man now and i still have goosebumps when i think about him

I’ve never seen hat man but I have seen shadow ppl I was outside working on a jeep late at night and I kept seeing them run from shadow to shadow and I think they were communicating through whistles I kept hearing

I see them in daylight much much more than at night and shadow cats ! I have seen them all my life and the one thing I have learned is that you don't let them touch you as something negative *ALWAYS* happened !
When I first saw hat man it was broad daylight. If I point him out to others at night they see him no history of hallucinations and no mental health history with many who have seen him even my family who think I'm crazy says there seen him.
I've seen many types of shadow person most are calm and chill but hat man and the tiny toddler menacing laughing shadows make me scared. Some of them made me feel happy when I saw them, the one that made me smile most recently I had dreamt of my ex who was also my best friend we almost got married but shit happened, I woke up and saw this tall shadow man I touched my grandma she said who's that I said idk and we both fell asleep while he stood there and I smiled and waved. I learned that day that my ex had died and it was the anniversary of his death. My man didn't want me having contact with my ex eventhough he was still my best friend and had been for years. I regret listening but I visit his grave all the time.

@@thatvampirelorraine I think maybe he sent someone to visit me I think he knew I was going to learn of his death later that day and he wanted me to know there no hard feelings and that everything will be okay, that he still loves me and knows I love him. Or maybe it even was him, Joel was so beautiful and tall and was the few people who always made me feel safe no matter what, so if it was him it would make sense that I felt so comfortable to wave and smile at this shadow figure and just doze off like it was nothing

I saw the hatman every night living in the house of my earliest memories but have no memory of dread but none the less im glad im not the only one who saw him
Back in 2017, age 19, I used to sit behind the dumpsters at the trailer park I lived at to steal WiFi. As I was sitting, I noticed a helicopter with a spotlight on the field nearby. At first I thought nothing of it, but then two more helicopters spotlighting the field showed up. Understandably, I became concerned and decide to go home. On my way, I saw a very tall shadow standing in the woods. Not the hatman, but It had arms so long its knuckles nearly touched the ground, no head, and produced a weird sonar/ringing sound that I can't describe really, it felt like the sound was penetrating my brain, very odd. I was absolutely shook! Fortunately, I mad it home, but that night I experienced an episode of sleep paralysis, and I saw the hatman standing in my bathroom doorway. For the next couple days I would see him peeking his head around trailers, moving from one trailer to the next like he was teleporting. Very vivid dreams ensued for the next couple months, dreams so bizarre that I still spend hours trying to decrypt them to this day. I also ended up in the ER because i started having intense headaches and brain bleed symptoms, I checked out healthy as can be. I believe these hat men ARE the men in black, government officials with shadow cloak technology, sent to investigate people who see things that they don't want you to see. They mean no harm, unless you saw too much and plan to tell. That sonar sound did something to my brain, I've felt disconnected from humanity as a whole ever since.
When I was 11, he was in my room at the end in the corner. He approached me and pulled my covers. I am not making this up, it still haunts me today... it wasn't sleep paralasys because I vividly remember trying to pull back the covers. At some point he gave up I guess and hovered out of the room. I will never forget this it's been 20 years. Has anyone else had this happen?
I saw him standing at the end of my bed my lights were off but he was stood in front of an imaginary window with a light on inside. I was sinking deep into my bed and shouting but no words were coming out and I woke up out of breath

My experience with him is about how you greet him I treated him as a friend and he told me things beyond my mind capacity to understand or remember fully. Except speaking through the mind hehe 😁

In Brazil there is a similar figure, called "Preto Veio" (the black old man). Wears a suit, sometimes a white one, and a hat that covers his face. The smell of cigars is associated to the apparitions
My dad (now 74) told me he saw a figure just like this when he was little, watching him from the foot of his bed. He said he distinctly felt no threat from it, and he watched it back until he fell asleep. He told me this years ago, before I had ever heard of the hat man phenomenon.
I and my husband were in our trailer we rented in Ogden Arkansas. He was working with my dad at his job; building a new highway was the intent. They dug up an old Indian burial ground and the state made them move down the road. Well the trailer park was in walking distance of their job by the way we were from little rock and this small little bitty place had a weird strange feeling to me; the whole time we were there . Well on one Sunday morning right after the grave s were dug up ;. We were relaxing on the couch ; talking about breakfast The tv and stereo was not on yet. So it was quiet. The bathroom was across from the back door like most trailers. So here we are on couch;and I just suddenly looked towards the hallway and bathroom. ( No reason ). Then wen I did ; I saw a man apprehension with a black top hat and a long black trench coat ;with. His front part of body torwards the couch and us He moved. Slowly out the bathroom right out the back door. I have questioned it for years. It's been wen were real young. Like 20. I know wat I saw and I know I saw it. I will say there has been deaths of family close to me I was in my 30s wen my granny dad and mom died within 2 years apart. My first hubby is on death row for almost 30 years . I lost my last husband and both brother n laws less than 1 year this was several years later then my mom and dad lived ,2 years and died. That's 2 family's I lost and my life has always been a roller coaster ride. Either it'll be good or it mite be not. I blame it all that man I saw. Tim saw it too. He saw the white shape with white hat and coat do this at night wen were asleep. He woke up and was gonna go get a drink and saw it and facing the bedroom then ; the door was open. I don't know if it was some hat man ; but it was something for sure. I never felt. Really afraid of it. I went about my life. I stayed by myself wen they worked. And I never felt a scared feeling. I actually saw him when I was a kid in 1990, I saw his silhouette across the hall and he was going down the stairs to the basement, I told my dad and he took his shotgun and looked everywhere, the police came and looked around as well but there was no one
This happened to me when I was a kid I was sleeping I woke up to him opening my bedroom door walking in and just staring at me from the doorway I tried to scream but couldn’t for what seemed like forever when I finally screamed he turned walked out the door and closed it behind him. Soon after my parents came rushing in. I have talked about it many times over the years to friends and family gives me chills every time even writing this now.
I actually have seen this phenomenal, when I was a kid, he stood right in front of me, with red eyes and a dark face (exactly like the thumbnail), He reached out to hold my hand (with his right hand). it was like he wanted to grab me or shake my hand or just help me, but I was terrified, I was not able to scream and can not move (in sleep). Never forget that.

I have seen him too once, he was standing by the door when I was half asleep, however he was normal height and he was holding an umbrella in his left hand.
I thought he was my dead father, but I felt at the same time he was not him. I was around 14 at the time. He was standing there for like half an hour, however it could be more or less.
I can tell you where he comes from..."The Shadow Man" Season 1, Episode 10 of the second run of the Twilight Zone. Aired 11/29/85 (coincidentally my tenth birthday) I watched it and it always stuck with me. "I am the Shadow Man,and I'll never hurt the person under whose bed I live." So if he lives under your bed you're good.
I saw the hat man for YEARS from age 7 to 11 more or less, and i found out this was a phenomenon a few years ago, i started looking for información when my brother told me he had seen this man for years as well
Back in the early 90s my best friend related a spooky experience he had at a motel in Reno. He awoke in the middle of the night to see a figure that, in hindsight, sounds a lot like the Hat Man to me. The phantom stood at the foot of his bed, it said nothing, and yet my friend could distinctly make out the sound of an old fashioned pocket watch coming from the figure. And with each tick and tock my friend also began to feel something like a noose or belt tightening around his throat. Tick tock, tighter and tighter -- until he lost consciousness. He awoke in the morning perfectly safe and sound. I hadn't even thought of that story since he told it to me all those years ago -- until I saw this video.
I saw the Hatman one night when I was younger. He was standing in my doorway. Very tall and before he vanished, his eyes were glowing red.

I used to see a lot of shadow people as a child. I remember the hatman, sometimes he'd move things, or I would see him holding a gun, a knife, sometimes both. The apartment complex we stayed in, I later heard that it was built over a burial ground. I did not see them anymore after we left that place.
I seen him in Tucson Arizona at Casa Blanca apts no 26 . I thought it was a burglar until he walked through my bedroom door walked around my bed sitting down beside me. I pulled my blanket which would not move someone was on it. Turning on my bedside light I seen the round indentation in the bed. It popped up then he was gone. I had many things happen in there, but never seen him again. Seeing him chilled me to the bone walking through that door!
