Two things that might be worth commenting about Lerner's approach, because people could bring up their unpleasant experiences as counter-argument: 1) One should not choose challenges that are too great. Don't try to lovingly hug a poisonous snake. Not being fearful doesn't mean abandoning common sense. 2) Don't EXPECT people to follow your example. Don't become a missionary for what you believe is spiritually superior or whatever. A virtuous character doesn't so much send as radiate.
