I think that variants does not count as rats anymore, they started to evolved into PMC. The common traits that all of the rats variants have is that they are vicious, ready to betray the group at any moment.
As a rat with 4 years of experience under my belt, I’ve come to learn that I could probably kill 80% of the player base in a fair and even gunfight. With that in mind, I still run away from most engagements. I only run so far however. Being a rat is so deeply ingrained in my blood that I am still becoming more “immoral” in my tactics. I have become a Picasso of Tarkov, but ratting is my art and I am proud of it.
I feel like the rat playstyle is almost the intended type of play in EFT. It's a survival game that wants to be realistic. You would most likely want to sneak around and ambush people. Patience is a virtue in real combat. Obviously there is a time and place for fast action and decisive maneuvers. Sometimes I am also guilty of "camping" or "being a rat". Few minutes there... move a bit then few minutes there. Can also set pilgrim traps.
We can refer this information to one of the few rat kings known as “Sam”. The rat has taken everything they’ve learned and put it into their hunting tactics. They are a very profitable rat by the looks of it.
Why does everyone forget about the double barrel? 8thousand, The price of a tok but with 2 shots of 12 gauge. With a size that cannot be fit into a average backpack and with many players not wanting to pick them up. They always come back from insurance. The double barrel is the most rat gun out there.

I always tell myself that once I hit 50 mill I'll start using gear I always reach that money count but my load outs rarely get above a slightly modded ak
Oh my... The D2 Rat was bad enough, but the Team Killing Rat made me sick to my stomach. How can one survive in such an inhospitable biome such as the Norvinsk Region without some friends, even if only as allies of convenience or necessity? This researcher is lead to believe the Teamkilling Rat is one that will become an endangered species. It's self-destructive nature and propensity for a lack of combat skills means that it will eventually die, sad and alone.
I need explanation because it fascinates me - these are the least cost effective choices you can get, along with most limited ammo that in no way surpasses the competition from 9x19 caliber. These pistols do not have high capacity magazines, their accessories are expensive and recoil isn't really that much better. While we're at it, why spend all that money on shitty pistol when you can have silenced Saiga-9 that has access to cheap 30rd mags, cheap suppressor, good ammo (both findable and craftable), less recoil, better fire rate and better accuracy. All you need is a rubber and silencer and there you go, you already own a firearm that's INFINITELY better than any pistol in the game, for dirt cheap (gun cost about as much as Glock, silencer is 10-12k on flea - literally the only cheaper silenced weapon is TT...). Oh and also you're not limited to compact collimators and can use any red dot or assault scope you desire which more often than not are much cheaper or better than your fancy Delta point/RMR. And probably the best part about all of this is that unlike your expensive pistol, Saiga 9 will come back with insurance 100% of the time (most people don't even bother taking suppressor off since it's really bad vendor value).
I'll be honest as a rat, most of my play time is spent as a hatchling, not because I cant afford gear, but because I'm too much of a money goblin to want to buy gear, increasing profits is the only goal, and the few times I have a gun is from loot or scavenging the corpses of the fallen like a vulture to the deceased
I'm a hard core "Stage 2 Rat," albeit with a more passive nature towards PMC's, which I hope VOIP will help with. See myself more as a "vulture" though, seeing as I actively seek out the locations of finished firefights where there's plenty of cadavers to be picked clean of anything and everything left. Dont like killing PMC's though. I dont wanna ruin anyone's day if I can help it.
If I ever land in tarkov, well, be on the lookout on the xbox side for a pmc playing as a scavenger pacifist, as well as a trader of sorts. Consider me to be a merchant in the area, looking to trade my gear for medication and means of protection. Armor would also be enjoyed, and I will alert any who take me as a wingman, of good resources located, and warn of any possible ambushes or traps that I sense.
By the power of an ocean of comments, I now understand what VOIP stands for.

The double barrel is the most rat gun out there.
the new gas welder goggles have improved my rat drip immensely. Ushanka, bankrobber, welding goggles and a halfmask/balaclava. Gotta look the way you play
Man flat out roasted General Sam, nice one.
Time to go ruin someone's christmas **grabs mozin with rat claws**
I love the Sam one it would be cool to include the youtububers and streamers as organisms
The best channel around at the moment!!
"the extract campers. These little Bastards...." you can tell just by the way he says it
so glad to get a documentary of my own kind :)
Premium content dude, love your work! Stay sharp.
The new Rat is the MP43 Rat
- Cheaper as a most pistols with 8,8k
- Shotgun, deadly as always in Tarkov
- can be used on Range blasts, shreds armor with Flechette or legging you with Magnum
- Big Boomstick that can effectively deal 800 Dmg with one Shot
- THAT GUNSOUND THO
- Kill or Die Gun due to reload speed
I one-tapped a 3 men squad yesterday that stayed very close on one of the ZB Bunkers on Woods. Hilarious... They all died within One Shot
was planning to smoke my xmas spliff outside... merry xmas. thanks for the awesome video.
The fuckin sam bit was gold ngl
Sam is the greatest of our kind. Bow before the rat king!
"Slippery little bastard!" ~Senator Armstrong
I expected the exfil camper evolution for very long, but this is far better
I guess found out if I play this game I would be a huge, loot-hungry rat, probably hiding in some bush an ambushing people. The fact that you can get a lucky M416 off some guy appeals to me.
As a new player I certainly feel attacked
I always tell myself that once I hit 50 mill I'll start using gear I always reach that money count but my load outs rarely get above a slightly modded ak
There's one final form. The Lab rat, the guy who brings a KS-23 to labs.
"You either die a rat, or live long enough to see yourself become a Chad". -General
as a great man once said: "Hit 'em with a rat attack!"
Unfortunately General Sam do be doinkin tho. He can kinda shoot
Missed the genetic mutation of the extract camper, the quest camper.
"They are Malicious" was my favorite part for lmao wtf
You forgot about me...The stat grinding rat...You know, the one with an already 31 str, 28 endurance and 24 Covert...Trust me...I am the most deadly.
True rats don't even step foot in Factory, it's for filthy Chads. The loot per minute is way too low for the risk
Factory is simply a birthing ground for rats, just like Customs. Those that survive, learn to to scurry in more expansive looting grounds.
Harvey Dent - You Either Die A Hero, Or You Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villain
My guy keep up with these geographic vids high tier content
We must admit that being a rat is like a bonus evolution because you are either a chad or rat
Now, we just need an Evolution of the Honey Badger
Honestly the SHR1MP/5.7 are like the go to pistols for me if played right you can basically fight anything.

Finally my friend, finally! The world of Rats.
Ay man can you make another tier list, love your weapon tierlist
To be a real man in these vodka ridden jungles, you must be strong enough to face rat.
I had someone try the "behind the customs Weapon Box" trick on me but he had his little rat head peaking out of the top
ah yes, General Sam. The father of all rats he is truly the purest species of rat
this gota be my fav youtube series ever
Leviticus has brought us a documentary on General Sam
“It’s a rat eat rat world”
~General Sam
3:45 I found your body as a scav right there
I'll be honest as a rat, most of my play time is spent as a hatchling, not because I cant afford gear, but because I'm too much of a money goblin to want to buy gear, increasing profits is the only goal, and the few times I have a gun is from loot or scavenging the corpses of the fallen like a vulture to the deceased
This old music like documentary lmfao
Wow & third 🥉! Maybe the Chad form is the Black Death Rat🐁🐀 Chad right😏?
Nother great video my man, you should seriously do voiceover work
"there is one known specimen known as Sam"
I'm a hard core "Stage 2 Rat," albeit with a more passive nature towards PMC's, which I hope VOIP will help with. See myself more as a "vulture" though, seeing as I actively seek out the locations of finished firefights where there's plenty of cadavers to be picked clean of anything and everything left.
Dont like killing PMC's though. I dont wanna ruin anyone's day if I can help it.
Welp if they insured you did that tho
If I ever land in tarkov, well, be on the lookout on the xbox side for a pmc playing as a scavenger pacifist, as well as a trader of sorts. Consider me to be a merchant in the area, looking to trade my gear for medication and means of protection. Armor would also be enjoyed, and I will alert any who take me as a wingman, of good resources located, and warn of any possible ambushes or traps that I sense.
The lowest testosterone levels of any specimen as well
