  • By: Alistair Begg | www.truthforlife.org - Slander and passing judgment are almost inseparable sins: when we speak against our brother, we inevitably judge him. When we are tempted to pass judgment, an honest look at our own sinfulness should cause us to pause. The more we know our own hearts, the more gracious we become towards others. Alistair Begg reminds us that ultimately, only God can judge in absolute fairness and with perfect authority.

Christ came that we might be saved, And that others might see him in us, our actions speak louder than our voices, speak oft of His life.... and spread his word....

Some judgements in court do not fir the crime. But thank God, He is perfect in judgement.

Some laws are inappropriate others appropriate. But God’s Law is perfect.

I almost totally agree with this teaching on judgement, but take exception on the stated opinion on opposing abortion. Yes, killing those who kill the unborn is wrong, but to leave it to God to work out at some later heavenly time seems to absolve us from responsibility in allowing this heinous action to continue to decimate a huge population of the yet to be born. That is unthinkable and we must do what we can to undo this wrong. Prayer, peaceable protest, and voting for pro-life politicians are all within the sphere of our abilities and we must take a stand.
