0:37 The contrast of the hail, with the tornado in the background, is absolutely stunning.

I chased the beginning of that storm through eastern Colorado, but I didn’t see anything. I’m so glad I was right about what that storm had in store! I love the footage and happy chasing

I imagine all that footage was hard to condense into a three and a half-minute video; awesome footage, and congrats on getting the Kansas tornado fest!

I find it really interesting how twin tornadoes were this really rare thing but now we're seeing them pretty regularly it seems?

Not everyone had a HD video camera with a super computer in their pocket before.

Not that rare actually. You get them a lot with these types of setups.

I saw those tornadoes along the entire line of that cell. I counted 4 different velocity couplets at the same time and then so many tornado reports. I also saw your spotter location and was hoping for a good video 🎉bravo on your chase!!

This was a fun chase! My brother and I were in Sharon Springs earlier, but bit on the QLCS producing tornadoes, and got nothing. We decided to book it back as those storms near Weskand and Sharon Springs were firing, and y'all got this! Though, by the time we got back near McAllaster and Winona, this storm had another absolutely beautiful one from what looked like a small hook on the back of the QLCS, with a small vortex signature on radar. Lo and behold, it was a big beautiful bastard that started as a cone and stovepipe, then roped out. It was a lucky find as I think only 2 other storm chasers got that one, including the feller that was at the spot we pulled up to. What a blast. Y'all got the treat though. We were 30 minutes away when we saw what looked like 4 tornadoes at one time on that storm's early parts, when you were there!

I'd be interested to know when everyone was saying central OK was the go to place why you decided to head for KS?

I grew up chasing cold core surface lows in Colorado and this seemed like the type that could produce nice tornadoes. This play also allowed us to be much closer to the follow day’s setup in Nebraska. Finally, I was a bit worried about all of the morning convection in Oklahoma and thought that could have a negative effect on storms later. I do believe it would have been a much bigger day if that hadn’t persisted as long, but the profiles still ended up being adequate for tornadoes by late evening.

I live in Kansas and we’ve actually had a pretty slow year so far surprisingly.... drought i think has a lot to do with it but either way, i expected far more by now. I’ve been in more than i want to admit living in Kansas my whole life but the last EF4 we had like 3/4 years ago, went right over my house and then tore everyone’s house off the foundation just a little bit down the road. That was a good one, Although i hate it for those who were effected . Anyways, we’ve just barely been missing them this year, it’s been wild. Maybe ours are going to pop up later than usual or maybe not at all.. I guess we shall see...Great video!
