You were a huge factor in getting that 8.2, the best score in this region of Connecticut. Even if Dave would have loved the pizza anyway, Dave liking you almost certainly bumped it up to 8.2, which gave you the best score (by .1) over all the famous pizzerias in the region. That's worth 10's of thousands of dollars per year in attracting business, possibly $100,000+! Frankly, that would be enough to make me go to the other places as a customer. Without you, this is 8.1, the same as all the other places. EVERYBODY KNOWS THE RULES.

I admit. My comment is completely biased. I grew up in Guilford. So proud. My childhood home is 5 minutes up the road from Carpanzano's. Dave is doing such a good thing for us... Connecticut pizza. We're the best... Worldwide. He did Capone's in Branford too. Hopefully he did Marco's and Pacileo's in Branford too. Hat's off to Dave. Such a good Dude. I love it.

That guy by impressing Dave this way will bring in $100,000+ of additional business per year (yes, best score in the region!!). Insane. Without this gut, NO WAY that score is an 8.2, and it's now just like all the other really good places in the region. Lack of appreciation of great employees is intolerable to me, makes ALL the difference when I decide where to go, especially with so many other great local options.

Has it ever crossed Portnoy's mind that telling someone they look like pizza could potentially be perceived as insulting? I genuinely think not, which is one of the reasons I earnestly enjoy Portnoy. He has his jagged edges but there's a genuine wholesomeness and down to earth quality about him that is rare to find.

A great pizza video! Dave is supercool to ask Owner if he wanted a pic. Of course, yeah! Dave should offer the "ideal" photo, meaning most iconic location within the pizzeria, the best background subject matter behind the people, like the pizza ovens, for example. The wall photo seemed not the best location.

I live not even 4 minutes away from this place and never tried it until I saw this review. Unfortunately it was a lot floppy-er when i got it but still very good. I'm more of a naples pizza guy myself but I'll probably go back to this place when I want something other than naples. (To any locals wondering why not Grand, I've never been a fan of that cornmeal or whatever it is they put on the crust)
