These are some great tips with some hard hitting truths. Big one really is to leave your ego at the door and become a great collaborator / facilitator.
Definitely, especially in a large tech company where it really takes a village to get the smallest of features out the door. Be a collaborator, not a blocker!
@@rahpstudio In my year-long apprenticeship, I’m really digging the UI design and code hybrid aspect. Working my way to more UX practice & learn what’s under the hood of AI (I’m a sponge). Hearing it’s a process (for you 2-3 years in the making) is comforting 🙏🏼
Thank you Ricardo for the valuable lessons 🤍 You are like my mentor who's always looking out for me. Keep making videos like these as they help us sooo much 💌 Happy belated birthday and wishing you a prosperous 2024! 💜
OMG thank you, that is so great to hear! You guys are the mentees I can't have at work so it means a lot to hear that my content is helping you. 🥹 I hope your year is off to a great start and I will see you in the next video, as soon as I make it haha
I found this video by chance, and I'm learning about UX from almost an year, these lessons are so valuable and important to learn to grow as a designer. Thanks the amazing video, you got a new subscriber 😄 Belated happy birthday, and Happy new year to everyone!!!
Thanks for sharing a valuable set of both hard and soft skills to build a decent career. Communication, building connections, accepting critique, delegating tasks 💯. Excited for more in the New Year!
I recently came across ui/ux design and I've been watching your videos. I'm studying computer science at uni and I feel like programming isn't gonna be my route long term. I want a switch but not sure if design is the way to go or should I focus on front- end? What can I do to improve my designing skills? I always had an eye for visual appeal so I think that would fit me more than programming. I'm kinda confused 😩 thanks for the videos!
Hi! Have you thought about doing a short course in UX design to see if you like it?Design is a craft so the only way is to get better at it is to practice, similar to programming. I would start with a short course that actually has design exercises integrated so you can put your skills to test and get a sense of whether you like it or not. Another potential route is to explore UX engineering which is a mix of front-end and UX or just go crazy and explore creative coding and work at a place that make interactive exhibitions! There are so many options 😃
