  • Once and a while you get the chance of a lifetime to hop on a friends ATV or Side by Side and journey deep into the Huron Mountains to see some waterfalls via the back trails. This was my chance to join the group. One of best days I've ever had in the Upper Peninsula! I have visited most of the waterfalls previously, but this was my first time with a large group of people. I think everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
    10 hours on the trail, 10 waterfalls, a visit to the "highest" point in Michigan (Mt Arvon) and a winner of Phil Stagg's Baraga County Waterfalls book. 107 clips rendered for the final video.
    Disclaimer: Yes we look like we're driving fast, a lot of the clips were sped up for time conservation. Don't be a troll and ask whether we were practicing safe driving.

      Thank you! It was quite a day to be back in the woods. The event is usually held twice a year. It was really big this past spring and they had to go in 2 separate groups. I personally have visited all of these waterfalls before, but it was nice to be in a group to see them this time around. Met some nice folks that day.

      I don't know if that tourist building is open or not, but when we went up and you come back to town, if you go in there and tell them you were up on Arvon...you get a certificate saying you were on the highest point in the state!

      Thank you. One of my best days in the U.P. We started and ended at the visitor center. Bud the tour guide gave us each certificate when we were at Mt Arvon. We all got a 2020 ATV Waterfall Survivor stickers, too.

    Can you tell me about how long the trip was? Looking to book a long weekend around this area and want to do a different ride each day.

      We spent about 10 hours on the trail. We stopped at about 10 waterfalls and Mt Arvon. About halfway through we stopped for lunch at Eriks Bridge. A lot of the waterfalls we visited can be accessed by a car and a short hike. Feel free to browse the rest of my Baraga County waterfall videos.

    Hi, new to the UTV scene, just bought a defender and recently moved near Baraga. Where did you start this trail? Trying to start trail riding frequently so trying to learn where everything is at

      Hi Donnie. I was just a rider on this trip and am not from the area. I'm sure the visitor center can help you find all the trails in Baraga County. I know there are plenty back in the woods

    What was your route?

      @feltphoto1  Год назад

      We started and ended at the visitor center in Lanse. From there we went through the Baraga forest and Mt Arvon to see quite a few waterfalls. The trip is not an easy one as the tour guide will take you through some swampy areas.

    Are there any rides this weekend. We will be up until Monday from Central WI staying at The Root Cellar Lodge off of Lake Gogebic

      I do not know whether there are any organized rides this weekend. Best bet is to contact the Baraga County Visitor Center. There was one this past Spring and it turned out really big.
