You should consider it it's great. You can get very cheap good decks. The commander's quarters is a youtuber that does a lot of fun budget decks. I recently made a version of his old stickfingers deck. Seen that you have a witcher profile picture. I made it because old stickfingers is basically a leshen
Shock collar and turn timer might be too much. Nobody noticed that loafing giant doesn't become immune to damage, it prevents the damage it itself would deal. I just really liked the first shock collar episode and was excited when I saw part 2 was out, but this episode/video lacked the attention to the rules imo.

Agreed, it should be more about playing right than playing very fast. Turn timers could still be ok if it was 2-3 minutes per main phase, but it would be better without it for well thought out plays to be made (without misplays or it leads to shocks). More recent sets might need even more time per main phase, as magic cards have become more and more wordy. Seeing the loafing giant trigger becoming a "after damage" trigger multiple times instead of an attack/block trigger is unfortunate.
Yeah, in the first one the shocks made them play a lot better, here it made them play worse. Both can be fun of course, but probably better when not combined. Even the judge didn't really have enough time to follow the game closely enough in this one.
I was screaming at my phone! Matt really needs help going through the basic rules again. He should not be playing Commander if he doesn’t know what simple abilities do. He needs arena in his life.
It's so weird, b/c nobody "broke" any rules but Charlie and Drew said his commander would die which is incorrect so I feel like that deserves a shock . Problem was they were playing so fast b/c they probably instituted the time limit to make sure the game didn't take forever that they missed it.
19:50 hate weaver actually dies here under current rules, regenerate replaces the next instance of being destroyed which happens after all the damage both ways has already happened
Exactly I came here to say the same thing it just removes the damage on your creature and removes your creature form combat, but unless it died from first strike then it still dealt the damage to the other creature before it would of died, and been removed from combat
Even back in the day, that would be the case. The only time I can think of where it might not kill the Hate Weaver, was if Hate Weaver had first strike, because then you had to regenerate the creature to survive the damage, and that would remove it from combat.
At 34:02 isn't that a shock for everyone? They all say Matt's commander would die in the trade if it blocked the land guy, but his commander has first strike and (unless I missed something) Charlie's dog doesn't.
I didn't recognize the box, then they started ripping packs, and a flood of nostalgia hit as I recognized so many of the cards and the set symbol. So awesome.
I'm glad the shock collars came back, but that judge missed A LOT of triggers. So maybe in the future someone with more experience and understanding of the rules could judge? Cool video :)
As someone who has an Invasion set symbol tattooed on their forearm, this episode made me so unbelievably happy to see. That Crosis pull really took me back.
I'm still too noob to recognise what actual triggers they all missed, but for a shock-collar game, it felt like they were being way too co-operative (and lenient) with calling out each other's stuff they'd get their skin toasted for otherwise. A fun game anyhow!
48:14 I'm pretty sure legions has no multicolor, then like 3 legendaries, one of which is Paige and you lose if you cast her from the command zone. So partner rares? So excited
It’s crazy to think this set is older than me, also the commander Matt had I recognize from the Magic the Gathering Invasion novels which was super cool to me.
I started playing Magic in this set. Mr. Stark, I don't feel so good. Also, fun fact: Expert set was how they designated the blocks that existed outside of the core set which was white bordered. Expert sets had keywork mechanics that did not appear in core sets like 6th or 7th edition. Invasion was the birth of the Kicker mechanic, from which so many other MTG mechanics draw inspiration.
I thought it was cool to see Ryan playing this round. By the end of the video though, I'm thinking the show will be most enjoyable with Ryan as the dedicated judge shocker.
Drew missed a loafing giant trigger at 32:02, 37:38, and 40:09 should be zapped thrice. Drew remembered once between these and Zach remembered once at the end. At 43:13, Ryan’s urborg phantom still dies to Drew’s land. The damage wasn’t “combat” damage.
The judge should be shocked. Regenerate removes it from combat, yes, but as a replacement effect when it would be destroyed. Since it was going to be destroyed by combat damage, it still deals combat damage.
Wasn't this set released to the public before before the PS2? I can't wait for the Portal 3 Kingdoms set opening. I really enjoyed the first shock collar commander playthrough. It has made me focus on not making any misplays and knowing more about the rules. Ryan should wear a black robe with a white neck collar. He'd be the perfect face for a judge. Thanks, SKILL CHECK.
For future Reference, when Matt played that Backlash, it may have been a better idea to wait until Ryan's turn. Before he moves to combat, tap down the dragon and boink Ryan
Is the general rules around the deck construction part (rules and/or restrictions) covered in an earlier video from the series? Or is Box Brawl as simple as get a box, split between friends and build a brawl deck?
wait so at 33:44 charlie is sending two attackers one of them being his legendary commander, what does "protection from legends" do on matt's side of the board? is matt able to be the target of legendary creatures and spells?

You're the RUclips hero

32:10 Drew should have been shocked, as he didnt do the giant trigger
Missed it multiple times. Shock em extra next time!
@@barrelrollio Agreed!
He missed this trigger at least 3 times
This trigger was only ever resolved after blockers, which should have been a shock every single time it was declared as an attacker
Shock collar and turn timer might be too much. Nobody noticed that loafing giant doesn't become immune to damage, it prevents the damage it itself would deal.

34:00 forgetting about first strike is PAINFUL
Had me sitting there looking at the rules again thinking I was crazy for him not blocking
I felt bad for Matt this game 🥲
I was screaming at my phone! Matt really needs help going through the basic rules again. He should not be playing Commander if he doesn’t know what simple abilities do. He needs arena in his life.

They all gaslit his ass and got away with it unpunished too
19:50 hate weaver actually dies here under current rules, regenerate replaces the next instance of being destroyed which happens after all the damage both ways has already happened
Thought so.
was about to comment the same thing 👍
came to the comments to say this glad some one said it. regenerate is my fav keyword

36:25 Matt was betrayed THIS episode. Falsely telling him his commander would die to the block the turn before was filthy.
For real, what a load a shit. No one was shocked for that and judge didn't catch it either its so plain to see
Matt has now officially become my favourite player on the channel
He even licks his nose sometimes.
Not sure why that's good, but it sure is something. (20:44)

Yea they should've been shocked and corrected that was some serious bullshit
Matts commander Tsabo wins at 33:25 against charlie's kavu because of first strike ;/
Great spoiler, thanks
@@KingArthurFleckWhy are you in the comments and mad about spoilers, it's even got a timestamp halfway through the video
I really love the box brawls. I hope you guys get through every set. This channel got me into MTG and I love it
Looking forward to the next video where you shock Ryan like 15 consecutive bolts for misplaying Urborg Phantasm this whole time.
Invasion was the first expansion i played when I started Magic back in my school days, ah memories.
wow it turns out loafing giant is super strong in a meta where you can just choose to ignore its downside lol

Of course Drew's commander is a Legend. Only legends can be commanders, so even if you choose another creature, they would have to be legendary.

43:00 I believe Ryan prevented combat damage that wasn't combat damage, he should have lost that creature
i agree
i'm not sure if you're trolling but if you check again he did lose the creature, he was continuing the meme of prevent combat damage
He did lose that creature. The no combat damage thing was in response just for the bit. No practical purpose
I thought the resolution was he washed damage that wasn't there my bad if I'm wrong
Invasion was a damn good set. Was a teenager when it came out.
19:45 A creature that regenerates still assigns combat damage (unless Charlie had first strike), so Charlie's creature should have died.
