@trackstaar Yes this is Mariachi Cobre. This festival took place in 1990. It used to be televised every year on Telemundo, but I'm not sure when they stopped. A damn shame too. People deserve to see great shows like this.
@Shalia583 Hello Shoshana. The man singing is none other than Steve Carrillo, co-founder of Mariachi Cobre. Along with his brother, Randy Carrillo, and fellow musician Mack Ruiz who formed the group. Their Mariachi is known as one of the best in the world.
@timefreeze2 I live in the Bay Area and play with Mariachi Aztlan. Most of the members are from San Jose, CA. The city host an annual Mariachi Festival in September. Mariachi Cobre are usually the teachers, but we've had Mariachi America, Mariachi Los Camperos, and Mariachi Vargas as teachers in years past.
