Talking to your plants does actually help them grow better, technically. Its the carbon dioxide from your breath that helps them. Plants feed off carbon dioxide, so if you talk to or around your plants it should help them grow nice and stong.

i do not like asparagus. my grandpa let me try a raw asparagus as a kid and it was so bitter i spat it right out. i've been told that actually cooking it makes it taste better, but even my mom agrees that asparagus is Not It.
once talk to plants and researching is unlocked, gardening just flies. also you get a pretty decent boost by planting so sometimes i'll plant extra plants just for that then get rid of them.
