We just got those and I haven’t been able to connect to my rover for some reason, base works just fine we try a lot a ways to fix this problem but haven’t been successful some people say it may be the fc5000!!!
If the FC connects to the base it is likely in the rover itself but try a reboot of theFC by holding the power key down fot 10 seconds until the screen goes black. Let go and wait a few seconds and power back up. If it still won’t connect to the rover try a factory reset. While the receiver is on hold down the power key. When The Stat light next to power turns yellow keep pressing until it turns magenta and let go. It will take awhile fir it to start tracking all the constellations but this may solve your problem
All my customers who have thus system say it is a GAME CHANGER when it comes togetting shots in the canopy. I always instruct them to reset RTK and get another fix to check any shots in canopy
Not a stupid question at all as there are many levels of accuracy in GPS receivers. These are considered “Survey Grade” with an accuracy of ~.02-.05 ft horizontal and ~.05-.10 ft vertical although this can vary due to conditions such as canopy. Even though it is more than accurate for land surveying I would not recommend using this for anchor bolts
this may be a stupid question. I have the topcon hiper v base and rover. I like the hiper vr because of the tilt. So my question is. Can i use my hiper v base with a hiper vr rover?
@@littlenel17 you should have TRU on your tablet. I’ll send you some instructional videos. Hit me up at rogwatmedotcom. Keep in mind you will only be using GPS&Glonass in the solution
@@rogwheel I have the fc5000 data collector from Topcon. I don’t have it at the moment it’s being fixed. But once I get it back I’ll check to see if I have TRU
Hi there. I would like know how long does the Topcon hiper vr battery last? I read that it counts with an intern battery. So, it wouldnt be possible to make a battery change at field. Best regards.
You can also get a power stick for the base www.amazon.com/10000mAh-Extensional-Li-ion-Battery-Charger/dp/B08PYQK3CY/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=power+stick+topcon+hiper+v&qid=1618059753&sr=8-2

I am wondering how it works in the trees (both winter and summer) with the base and just using VRS?

Sorry if this is a 'stupid question' but how accurate are these GPS systems? Accurate enough to lay out anchor bolts?

You sure can! You have to go into Topcon Receiver Utility and match the radio settings of the V to the VR settings
@@rogwheel holy shit no way. And that can be done in the data collector right or does that have have to be done on the computer?

The base battery lasts about 6-8 hours and the rover 8-10. We include a 12V adaptor for the base in case you need to work longer
