Sinclair: What's that weird looking lever? Outis: *goes on a whole monologue about how real comrade bonds are formed* Me: Oh, so you have no idea, got it
It was also mainly the fault of the gods playing batmitin with his boat first by position being angy at outis for stabbing his son then when a crew member essentaly mutinied and killed and fed the crew some sacred bovine
21:33 Just to explain the "Frau Faust" bit, Gregor knows how to speak German apparently, so does Faust / Sinclair. Frau is just something similar to "Ms.", the direct translation would be "Ms. Faust". Gregor tends to use some German words sometimes, which is kinda funny tbh.
Some further trivia: The other sinners also sometimes speak the language their book refrences came from. Don sometimes speaks Spanish, Rodion occasionally speaks Russian (though it's audio only since in text its translated) and Meursault speaks french exactly once in Hell's Chicken.
Honestly, Outis *would* have at least some naval experience if she's based on Odysseus, though it should also be noted that it took Odysseus in the Odyssey well over a decade to travel something like fifty miles. Most of that was bad luck and lounging around but still.
Ishmael: "Writing down the laws of the lake is one of U Corp's taboos" Tsunul "Why!?" The reason is simple, money, writing down the laws is only forbidden when unauthorised meaning if you pay U Corp enough they'll let you write them down (or some of them) alternatively if wealthy enough one could just skip all of it by using some kind of ferrying service provided by U Corp which would no doubt be very expensive
I headcanon the actual required speed was just 6km/h split between 13 people and Faust rightfully gave an overestimation because she knew half of the sinners wouldn’t be motivated otherwise. Then they barely made it.
I feel like great lake IS an ocean(or at least a sea) it's just called that the same way The City is called the city despite being roughly the size of a country
In this episode: Outis is revealed to be a boomer and kills the engine, Don eats a seagull and fucking dies. Greg's chainsmoking finally catches up to him, one of the sanest members of the bus is dying of seasickness and the other voice of reason not named Vergillius is completely fucking done with everyone's bullshit.
I cannot get over the part at 21:49 . The scene itself, the dialogue, the MUSIC, it instantly hooked me on this Canto. Especially the music. The sound of waves in the background, the slow melancholic feeling to it, the scene itself playing out as we hear about the laws, such a great scene. I missed this game's story so much, and especially the music.
I already finished the first part of chapter 5 it was so amazing that I just had to. Imo i think it has a stronger start than chapter 4 so I'm really excited for the rest.
Outis awakens Sinclair's MILF kink, Don's onomatopoeia, for some reason - the simple image of Fuast on a bike in full uniform - everything about this early chapter is entertaining as hell As for why Verg and Faust let Outis ruin the boat... in the words of an old abridged series: "This is probably going to hurt, but I'm curious." EDIT - Spelling error fix
Haven't finished watching but want to comment as I go along (or more like until I forget about this thought). If Outis is actually based on her book then she should also have some sea experience I believe.
It's not like Outis doesn't have any sailing experience since she's inspired from the Odyssey. Though if you know the Odyssey maybe don't let her take the helm, and this is from a Outis simp
@@0riginal_zer030 exactly, and she believes Ishmael is too unstable to be reliable in any way (and to a degree she's right), her clashing with Ishmael during canto 5 part 1 is incredibly logical and even genuinely constructive as opposed to purely criticising others for the sake of reasserting Dante's authority
A bit of both, I think. To me what we see of her this chapter is still very much in line with how she acted previously, but she gets a bit more focus and with it variety.
The great lake is just the ocean, and its connected to the outskirts waters too. Cant take pm naming sense at face value for how riduculous their scaling is XD
Faust being the lone string holding Tsunul's sense of heterosexuality together.

Damn, Outis really pulled a "baCk iN mY dAy". She really IS the grandma of the team.
"thats my boy" 👴🏻

The last people that let Odysseus/outis steer the ship didnt see home for decades who let her steer
I believe most of them also ended up dead in the original story. Yeah, letting Outis steer a ship is just asking for trouble.
It was also mainly the fault of the gods playing batmitin with his boat first by position being angy at outis for stabbing his son then when a crew member essentaly mutinied and killed and fed the crew some sacred bovine
Do NOT let her cook!!
Ain't the crew in ahab ship in Moby dik fare better either. Hell, Ishmael were the only surviving member iirc

I thought it was a translation error the first few times 😂 that's honestly a really cool character detail, thanks for informing us

Dante's Character Development: Putting both his hands in his pocket
Dont worry, if things progress at this rate, his hands will return to where it belong, on his clock face
Same as Ayin and Roland. Now Dante is a real PM protagonist

Monetized laws, PM really cooked with this one
Honestly surprised he didn’t manage to put it together considering all the time he’s spent on PM works
I've litterally been dealing with this BS IRL, in australia a bunch of laws are gatekeeped behind a paid service in the construction industry

Ok but consider that every time they call it the Great Lake I can’t help but assume the City is just Michigan
@BurningTNT it couldn't be Michigan, it's too normal
It also says each lake has waves the great lake is a collection of smaller lakes
Big as a continent.
Now that you bring it up, it is mentioned later that the water is saltwater, sooo...

I just Dante was wheezing after he was done biking, He is not built for that 😭😭😭
I love the part where Outis just choose to do fucking nothing and bullshit the whole chapter kekw
Ey as they say in ancient Greece fake it till you make it
Nothing, not even the character's death or canon, can shake a shipper's faith
Definitely feels like there’s less combats than chapter 4, there’s a chunk of story with every stage so the pacing has a good forward momentum
If it wasn't for the amazing part 3, canto 4 would be very low in my ranking with how... Weird the pacing is, like... Really really weird,
You will love the cutscene at the end of this week's chapter and how really strange the lake is
