AFP-400 California Code

- A few people were asking about this, so I spent a half hour making a video of it for you guys. Even did it with a mechanical horn since I know that's all you want to hear. Simplex 4901-9816. Looks like a 2901-9840 but has the same type of horn as what you'll find in the 4903-9219.
I know that you say "that's all you want to hear" in your description, and a lot of people constantly pester you about system tests, but I want you to know that a lot of us really appreciate you for who you are, and not just for alarm videos. We love seeing your projects and ideas outside of alarms, and really appreciate you posting these short videos every once in a while, good to know you're still doing well.
he said through an image someone took of his message and sent in the techs and collectors discord that it's because it's the truth, and i agree with him on that, but i do also think he's being a bit too harsh about it, what he should do is address it in a short video.
It's interesting that california has its own code for fire safety, specifically for alarms
That's California for you: always wanting to be different from every other state for whatever reason.
Had.. before NFPA decided to standardize code 3, California invented their own code
@@NewAgeServer oh hi there
I have never heard Cali code on March time, cool!
Dang that’s cool! I’d love to see a panels in and out video on the afp 400
I love the level of cinematography in this, nicely done!
Its really cool that you're starting to upload more often now.
yes
Don’t speak to soon.
@@SomeDudeWithAnExitSign yes agree
This coding is exactly what I hear at my elementary school and high school with a California March Time. The only thing is there is a main building at my school that does California with 60 BPM pulses 10x with a 5 second silence. The rest does the 120 bpm with Gentex SHG/Commander 3 Horns, System Sensor MA's, Gentex GMS&H's, and System Sensor P2R/HR. While it also has a voice evacuation system in the gym.
Interesting, had no idea the AFP-400 had its' own version of California Code (though I know the Simplex 4002 does as well). Even more interesting in that it's essentially just March Time but with short pauses every so often. Seems like California just can't seem to make up its' mind when it comes to what its' own coding option should sound like (even though the general agreement seems to be "continuous with intermittent pauses").
Most 1998-present panels have california code so it isnt just afp 400 and 4002s
@@vrryan6 I said *own version,* I didn't say "only those panels have California Code".
Nice! California code is one of those weird things that doesn't make any sense to me. I guess that's California's motto though.
I agree, I don’t really understand California code.
As far as I’ve been taught/I understand, It’s intention was for there to be x amount of seconds where fire fighters/first responders are able to shout/communicate during the brief silence period without the horns drowning them out
@@tmalley oh, that makes sense
Nice. How did you get the panel to do march time in California code
I'm guessing by using a sync module
@@bjthedjdutchdude1992 the panel has coding options...
That's why it's doing California code in marchtime because the notifier has California code as March time.
The panel does California code in March time.
There was two versions of california code -- one was a 10 second blast / 5 second silence, other was 20 march time pulses / 5 second silence. This panel's version of California Code was the latter.
Sounds like something you'd hear from a coded Pull Station
Finally a new video which may be recently and not 6 years ago
Now all that I need is a Oregon coding option.
Damn. After 5 years of not watching you, you're still making videos. I always watched you on youtube because I want to have my own system.
Hey man really missed your videos. Hope you doing well and doing what you mostly love to do, without you I wouldn't have this hobbie.
Didnt know you had a 4901 9816 but thats cool haha
I’m at wallmart rn and I just saw a wall mount spectralert advance on the ceiling
Pretty interesting coding.
10 years ago system test 26
And he posted this video on the same that he posted the other video back in 2011 .
Did you do a collection video
What would Pennsylvania code be? Jk haha
Or Maybe New York Code? 😂
California Marchtime….. weird
how u use 120 on california code can u do ur 4030 again
Rare to see march time California code
Could you possibly do a security alarm test on the AFP-400
It functions exactly the same as the fire alarm, just blinks the Security LED instead. Nothing special, tbh.

I thought you were retiring from fire alarms. But I hope you have changed your mind about giving people alarms and I have some car keys and house keys I can trade you.
