Two tips I learned from the Danish army: 1. Line the inside with a big trash bag to keep everything dry. It's cheap and very useful. 2. Don't use the sleeping bag's compression bag. Put the sleeping back directly into the backpack. It's fills out the bottom better and makes it easier to pack everything else. It is also a bit better for the down. (Military Bonus: It's faster to pack up if you're under attack and need to move.)
I’m Australian and started solo camping and hiking and had no clue what I was doing but videos like this help a ton thanks for the content great job on the vid bro!
The British Crusader canteen set is similar with a cup, pot & stove base that can take a Trangia alcohol burner. The American system is good too since there is aluminum and stainless steel options for the cup.
Mine double as a A Frame tent as well, can snap 2 together for a larger emergency tent, better than the crap ones they sell, with the rain ponchos. & good emergency blankets you'd fare a lot better
2:28 I highly recommend (based off of nothing I never got to try that theory) to put a lil folding foam sitting pad under the sleeping bag so it you ever put it somwhere wet theres a lil bit of extra difference, and it comes in very handy as a pillow or to sit on it
Great video but you should somehow waterproof the inside of your backpack either using a big waterproof sack where you will put everything inside or by placing individually everything in smaller waterproof sacks.Especially your sleeping bag, otherwise in a wet sleeping bag you cant sleep and it gets too heavy to carry.Greetings from Greece
Good to see another soldier. Both current and former soldiers. What type of job did you do? Infantry, Tanks, Artillery? I was Infantry, mortar crewman, years ago in the US Army. Mostly working on the now obsolete M-30, 107mm mortar. A very heavy mortar gun at about 350-kg.
mate no joke was just thinking about your old intro from years ago back in the ghillie videos (been a fan since i was like 12 now im 23) anyway i could hear the music in my head and was thinking about you. i havent watched in donkeys years. anyway was looking for backback reviews and stuff and now im here after a few mouse clicks and didnt realize it was you until i heard your voice crazy how the universe works
If you place the sleepingpad vertically on the front outside of the backpack, it will not snag on branches. Remember too police your excess straps, nothing should dangle free on the outside as it WILL (not might, WILL) get caught on something!
I have a SUGGESTION : If you could write the name of the backpack Berghaus Titan FA 60 in the title of the video, nontheless Berghaus would be happy but also all the people looking for more information or video about the backpack would. And they would discover your channel ! I've been trying to get images, videos or any kind of info about the bag for the last two days and could not find anything. Cause there almost isn't any videos or review yet. Great video thank you.

Rain poncho also helps to keep warm in cold weather, about -5° to 15°C weather, there's ones available all over online shopping sites for under $50
