Welcome to Fight!! Night, a series where we pit two decks against one another either IRL or online via Untap.in. Tonight is a matchup previously hyped up as Dragonic Kaiser Vermillion, the "Blood" has descended once more with a vengeance! A vengeance that will be carried out against its set rival Glory Maelstrom! Remember, misplays are allowed (maybe even encouraged lol). This is meant to be a casual series so sit back, relax, and let's play vanguard!

The supports are an amazing reveal.
While the Blood, honestly, I'm not one to bash a card, but this feels like they give +1 crit and call it a day. I mean it is faithful to Premium The Blood, but it feels underwhelming, They could at least make The Blood grow stronger as the fight goes, something like:
"Your front row gains 2k for every binded unit on your opponent and your bind zones," thus giving incentive to always use Eternal Thunderbolt from drop, adding more Deathsctyhe, and using Rough Cull Hammer skill.
Or improve on already existing skills.
"...and If you played Eternal Thunderbolt this turn and you have Vermillion in your soul, choose up to two more RC and this unit also battled the units on the chosen RC," this way it helps against the Keter gang.
The Blood is extremely underwhelming. I would've liked for them to scale the power too. Counting the bind on the opponent's bind zone would've been fine honestly. They also could've counted the number of Eternal Thunderbolts on bind(like Glory's 5k to front row per), but that would incentivize players to never use the order from hand which lowkey sucks. Sometimes, using the order from hand is pretty good, since you can't find a second copy. However, even scaling power based on order in bind, with the issues it has, would still have been better than whatever they did to The Blood here. Between the original Maelstrom and Vermillion, Maelstrom definitely needed more help, but come on, Vermillion wasn't in the best place either. Now, the chance the deck will receive specialized support in the future is more or less gone.

Yeah, it felt kinda unfair when Glory can have up to potentially 20K solid power-up and guard restrictions up to 2 times, not to mention double draw and double retire if you have two Maelstrom attacking on the 4th and 5th turn.
If they don't want to give Vermillion the staple of DE gimmick (restand) cuz every mofo in DE has it, then they could lean more on the Narukami gimmick of retiring a lot and gaining power from retiring them.
Heck, something like,
"Your front row also gains 5k for every card retired/binded by Vermillion attack," sounds good enough.
It's not OP when many decks have good defense such as Impauldio, Levidras, Rorowa. And many have ways to revive units such as Rezael, and again Levidras.
@@TheOverlordEND I wished they had taken the deck in a direction more focused towards binding rear guards and gaining advantage that way instead of trying to make the deck's existing game plan slightly more consistent. If your opponent has even a single rear guard left on field, the order's ability to give 5k just disappears and makes the deck's power issue even more apparent.
Making a new form that requires an entire support card to be made just to make said new form work just feels like a waste of space. The new RR's main goal is to give you a way to put the original Vermillion into soul to make The Blood work. Outside of that, it's just there to search persona ride, which is neat, but I'd rather Bushi just give the deck scaling power to fix power issues instead of RNG top 7 search for persona ride for turn 4.
People are going to tell me you can search the order too with the new RR, but that has never been a problem for the deck, because you've probably hit your 6th damage by the time you need another copy of the order. Worst case, you just play the order from hand and then use it again from drop if you don't see a 2nd copy in time. It's not like the only card you can discard in the deck is the order. The deck has plenty of discard fodder, especially now that you're forced to run multiple copies of the original Vermillion in the main deck. I'll gladly take the new Kagero encounter card for Vermillion, but The Blood and the new RR leaves a lot to be desired.

Yup, the order really leaves many for desire. Most of the time, the 5k power-up from it is barely useful to me since opps always have full board and I rarely use Deathscythe to bind since I needed the soul to use Phoenix.
And I think it's even more stretched out with The Blood using SB than CB. They need to give us a unit that binds using CB1 for Vermillion.
@@TheOverlordEND I mean, we do have CB1 bind backrow in the form of Red River Dragoon, but he kinda sucks. There's no real space to even run him either with the new cards. All in all, they really undercooked The Blood.
I'm so hyped to play THE BLOOD. The support is so hot. I'm tempted to keep Roughcur for the constant abuse, but space is tight after looking over the list, and there are so many grade 3s. Also, I wanna experiment with the new Fronts that go into soul, cuz that's just more free Phoenix abuse lol.
