Damn I was a shorty when this came out. My mother used to BANG this joint right here! Miss these days! The early 90's were the last of the REAL soul music years!
This version was HUGE in the Chicago steppers scene in the 90's & probably even still today. It was almost imposible to attend a steppers set & NOT here this at LEAST once during the night. There was another record out around this time by Frankie Knuckles called "It's Hard Sometime" that had this same vibe & feel. I'll have to dig it out & post it. There was an album version that was nice as well as another house style remix that hit pretty hard too.
damn. I missed out on that one. 1992 - San Diego summer and this mix came on at a club and I lost my mind. I wore out my walkman moving to this mix. I worked this cut every time I heard it on the dance floor. Still as good today as when I discovered it over two decades ago.
thanks for the post ive been waiting for this version for over 15 years to come to youtube I use to date this young man that use to play it all the time for me...lol
man you are late. I heard this version BEFORE the internet existed on a Saturday night party mix over the radio. Don't ask me how I got a copy on cassette in the Summer of 1992 but I did. I vividly recall how I took the San Diego bus places while listening to this cut during my Marine Corp stint at Camp Pendleton. This cut did it for me reminding me of the house music that I was missing back east. Soooooooooo smooth.
THIS JOINT IS SMOKING THE HELL OUT OF THIS HOUSE BEAT
