7/5/24 -- Howdy, folks! Went for a ride on the East Broad Top Railroad today. This little railroad is located probably about halfway between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, but it's well worth the drive, if you can make it! An old short-line railroad that used to haul ore from nearby mines, the railroad still most of its original equipment, including multiple steam engines! They're currently working on restoring No. 16 to service, and once that's ready, they're hoping to get No. 15 running again as well. In the meantime, M-7, a 1964-built GE 55-tonner (which was purchased later by the railroad), leads trains on a smooth ride up to a picnic area. Right nextdoor is the Rockhill Trolley Museum, which gives rides as well. Enough stuff for you to do to spend a whole day up here! Enjoy!
