Really enjoy you watching sports that you are less familiar with, it's great seeing you enjoy them.
To answer a few of your questions.
@4:16 you can actually kick the ball whenever you like. In Rugby it can be really difficult to get possession off your opponents, so normally kicking the ball away will lose possession and a big advantage. The team without the ball will normally have a player way behind the line of defenders, to cover kicks and break away runs. So you would aim to do this to exploit poor positioning from the other team or as a last resort (there are lots of reasons to kick but maybe too many to go into here).
@2:53 the team in the black and white stripes are not a normal team, they are the Barbarians, a team of players from all around the world that don't normally play together. Games with the Barbarians are generally more exhibitions than real competitions much like an all-star game, so you can get some weird (and sometimes illegal) plays that wouldn't normally be attempted.
@7:01 when the kicker is kicking a conversion (equivalent of an extra point), the defending team can start charging him down as soon as he makes a movement towards the ball but not before. Kickers tend to have very intricate preparations and James O'Connor, the kicker here had an infamous way of lining up, where it seemed like he does take a slight step towards the ball during his preparations. Stringer (the defender) knew this, so without being able to see it from the try-line, charged him down as soon as the kicker started his motion.
@8:28 It was probably a miss. That was a penalty kick (like a field goal rather than an extra point kick), meaning that the ball is still live until it goes out of play. Normally, as an attacker, you follow the ball in, in case the defending spill their attempt to catch it or it comes off the upright. This kick looks like it was held up in the wind, so the player was smart enough to get running quickly, knowing if it was kicked high it could be catchable.

Back in the day I charged down about 16 conversions over my career because of the over elaborate routines of kickers, especially the round the corner kickers so prevelant then.
The kickers had obviously never read the law book which clearly states that if you stop motionless for more than a second or two you are deemed to have addressed the ball and any movement forward, sideways or backwards after that is judged to be part of your run up and so many kickers adopted ridiculous over elaborate routines when taking a conversion.
It broke my heart when the round the corner kicking routines started to disappear and just about killed off my fun at conversions.
There used to be murder from the other teams kickers, captains and supporters every time I trotted up and put my foot on the ball in such instances and the ref awarded the charge down in my favour. Twice refs sent me back and awarded a penalty against me from the subsequent restart, which doesn't say very much for their understanding of the laws of the game.
I'd like to take this opportunity to claim the world record for conversion charge downs.

Haha a try is more of a touching down than just running the end zone . I think it probable shows the origins of American football .

Medical staff treating injured players on the pitch with, play continuing around them (so long as the weren’t disrupting things too much) used to blow my mind as a kid. Also as a kid I saw a historic battle re-enactment, where a 20th century ambulance sped into the turmoil of the 1600s. The two things coexist in my memory.

Key difference between Rugby and American Football is all the players are on the pitch for the entire game (unless substituted) so everyone has to run for 40 minutes, everyone has to tackle and take a tackle so you end up with less variation in shape

For a conversion , the goal kick after a try, the defence are allowed to charge the kicker once he starts his kicking movement but not if its a penalty kick

What do you know about how a player should've been covered? I can honestly tell you that you know more than a lot of reactors I've seen. You actually have the intelligence to ASK QUESTIONS! You learning from what you watch & ask is a much better watch than some dunce just going "Oooooh. Aaaaah. Wow."
Great reaction Connor. Hope you're keeping well

Their is a time limit to converting the try (the kick for 2 point after the try for 5 in union) but it is rarely enforced unless you take the piss.

there are small players. Shane Williams was only 5'7", and about 175 pounds, but is still 3rd highest international try scorer from top division nations

@06:52 As I understand it The player kicking had moved towards the ball but then delayed kicking, which means the other teams player was within his rights to do what he did

Does anyone remember the "flying wedge" tactic in the 80's?

A lot of these were illegal but the referee got it wrong and there were quite a few forward passes.

You can kick the Ball forward, it is called Rugby Football after all 😂. However, in order to catch a ball kicked by a team mate, you must have been behind him wheb he kicked the ball.

You need to look into the Barbarians team, it's a team made up of international players by invitation, so when they play an international side you've probably got people on the Barbarians side playing against their own teammates!

The Wales try against England shouldn't have been allowed. The ref told the England captain to talk to his players, which he was doing. Should not have then allowed the quick penalty.

Comparing Rugby to American football simply because the ball is the same shape is like comparing soccer with basketball because the balls are the same shape 🤨

You're not digging a hole, you're identifying why Rugby fans get so angry when it is compared to American football. Your guys have one job and one job only. Rugby players are required to be able to do everything, tackle hard, pass well, run with the ball, kick into touch and score tries. They are all round talent in a way that is just not necessary for American footballers.

These skills are unusual for rugby union. You should watch a Rugby League highlight video, a faster more skilful game IMO.
I'm waiting for the hate to come from the southern school boys 🙂

Friend. Nearly every questions, thoughts and mind process you've got are referring to US football in some way.
    It's not.
    Peace.

You can kick forward, but then ball is free for all, and the opposition is not allowed to tackle the player, as they don't actually have the ball.
At 6.10 you say they are well built athletes, it is because in rugby, there are almost no stoppages, for 40 mins per half. if you want to watch a whole game on fast forward, watch a rugby 7's international match. 7 players a side, 7 minutes a half, at 5 points for a try, two for a conversion (Kick the ball over the goal posts after a try) and three points for a penalty (when you kick it over the post with the ball support) you can still rack up 20-40 points in 15 minutes. here is USA vs Fiji
