Remember when Vickie missed her cue to run out and interfere with rey and Eddies ladder match? Eddie was just hanging up there screaming "WHERES VICKIE?!" 😂
My Sin Cara experience was the exact opposite of Simon’s here. I was amazed by him jumping into the ring on TV, and I bought a mask of his at a house show, but when I saw him perform I also saw the trampoline, and the mystery was killed
It was definitely the worst. The first ladder botch I seen was when Edge speared his future ex gf, Lita. She accidentally hit her head on the back of the ladder and she screamed out in pain.
Cargill does deserve some credit for recovering as quickly as she did. I've seen similar spots turn out worse. Over ten years prior, Jesse Sorenson was left battered from on outside dive during a match with Zema Ion.
Would have liked to see Damian Priest not even attempt to kick out here against Rollins, it's always fun to listen to the commentators try to explain things live in the moment
I hate when Jericho got mad at the word "botch" saying "we have one take to do everything, things will get messed up." like yeah of course, but things are suppose to go according to plan, if you mess up....its a botch. When the ref stops a 3 count because he forgot what the finish to a match was....its a botch. Its okay to have botches, things happen, but like be real lol
I love how level headed and balanced Simon Miller always is in any of the What culture videos, he always seems to also have more respect for all the wrestlers.
No, he sounds like an elitist prick. No one is making fun of wrestlers for botching. Him and Jericho need to get off their high horses and stop getting mad by a word and an accurate word too.
Wait, what happened to 2005 Royal Rumble finish with Batista and Cena falling out of the ring at the same time? Surely that's #1? And Vince tearing both quads walking out has to be #2? Meanwhile Jade "earned" a spot for slipping on a banana peel? I get that there's a lot of history in WWE, but surely there's better "botches" than most of these?
My least favorite recent botch was Ronda’s shoulders not being down in the main event of Mania. My favorite recent botch was Heyman not being able to get Roman’s handcuffs off in Roman/KO Last Man Standing.
That No Way Out 2007 graphic is from a cancelled rematch; the Armageddon 2006 Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Ladder Match was a kayfabe "Christmas present" from Teddy Long, as The Hardys and MNM were not even advertised for the show, as Jeff and Nitro/Melina were Raw stars and it was a SD PPV. They decided not to risk it again, *especially* for Mercury...
honorable mentions : Candice Michelle falling on her head from the 3rd turnbuckle, Brock Lesnar's Shooting Star Press, Titus O'Neil falls under the ring at the greatest Royal Rumble (we are laughing at it, but many people don't know how serious this was and how close Titus was to get severly injured, just a few inches)
Simon, question for you. I grew up playing american football, its customary to always be watching film, especially of yourself and team. To get better, to learn what you did right or wrong, to see where there are weaknesses. Question, how often do wrestlers watch their own match film? And secondly, if a botch occurs, like a noticeable one how long does that linger in the mind of a wrestler? Will they go back and even watch it to see what happened? Wrestling is not like football, yeah its a competition on a single day but wrestling is one take no cuts, thats horrific if you cant do improv or are prone to mishaps. I’d respect the wrestlers who can laugh and learn from their botches then the ones who get negatively impacted by the mistake(mentally). I just hope wrestlers who struggle with botches get in the right mentality to overcome the mistakes when they come. Because they will always come, darn mistakes.
The whole “it’s ours and you can’t show clips” version of RUclips fucking sucks. I’d love to see the goddamn botches in question but nah, we get flip books. It’s not the channel’s fault at all, just unbelievably underwhelming to speak about something happening than seeing it happen.
@ 😂 it drives me nuts because it’s free advertising of the product!! No one says “welp, don’t need the full match” when they see an amazing ending! Let content creators give you publicity for fuck’s sake!
Botched spots v Forgotten spots Botches aren't bad; I enjoy seeing how a slip from the top rope (see: LA Knight) is recovered from, either by just doing a different move, brute forcing the same move again, or cycling through a new set of moves to get back to the same botched spot. Forgotten spots, however, are irritating. There's partial blame on the wrestler who forgot the chain of events, but people also need to realize that there are others behind the scenes (like match coordinator/producer) that failed to either procure time to practice in the ring OR mock up the ring with crash pads to walk the match out, and it makes everybody look bad.
I don’t think Papa Shango missed his cue. I think he was trying to bury Hogan finisher. It was a gamble, but he probably knew Sid would kick out. Or…He PLANNED it WITH Sid, and they both played Hogan.
He was actually given a late cue. He was in position, Gorilla Monsoon told him not to go until they told him to and when they finally told him to go it was late. Charles Wright has told the story multiple times in a bunch of interviews. Most recently with Chris Van Vilet who actually just has an hour and half talk with Simon too.
Today I learned Jade falling of the ropes doing a springboard is a worse botch than Brock Lesnar missing a Shooting Star and Titus O'Neill falling under the ring. Seriously, who came up with this list? Why is Austin having his neck broke but continuing his career #1 when Big E having his neck broke and being done isn't even top 10?
Was all excited to watch the list then Simon miller had to ruin it, isn’t he the champion of some indi fed, why can’t he just go the away, and let other people do these lists. It only took me approximately 5sec to turn this video off.

I'm surprised Enzo getting his bell rung by the ropes at Payback against The Vaudevillians didn't make the list, that was a nasty one.
The ladder spot with Mercury was the first real botch I can remember. It was gruesome!
It was definitely the worst. The first ladder botch I seen was when Edge speared his future ex gf, Lita. She accidentally hit her head on the back of the ladder and she screamed out in pain.
@marcohavokkhaos oh i actually remember that!

Yeah dont blow his head up but...... I met Simon at Mania for a few seconds. Hes pretty cool.
Probably because he is a wrestler himself and understands the craft on a personal level unlike the others who just report it.
Yeah I'm sure this comment would be here if these botches were about AEW

The bigger botch at Wrestlemania VIII is the fact that Sid v Hogan went on last.
Number 1: Whoever decided to book Goldberg vs Undertaker in 2019
honorable mentions : Candice Michelle falling on her head from the 3rd turnbuckle, Brock Lesnar's Shooting Star Press, Titus O'Neil falls under the ring at the greatest Royal Rumble (we are laughing at it, but many people don't know how serious this was and how close Titus was to get severly injured, just a few inches)
Imagine if Shane McMahon walked out with Pete Gas, Rodney, and Joey Abs on AEW.
I never thought of that, I guess they could pop up too but figured they were retired.
If you wanted to do a list of the funniest "botches" of all-time, number 1 MUST be Titus O'Neill at the Greatest Royal Rumble.
It's things like what happened to Joey and Stone Cold are why I hate when people call it fake.
I also hate that too, it’s a monumental sin for “fans” to call it that f word

Jade's is top 10? She wasn't the only one having troubles with the ropes that night. They made several other people slip as well.

Exactly botch means you did a mistake it happens you botch it move on it’s either botch or you f up witch one you want

What's the point if you're not going to show the clip?!
Cargill is nothing but a female ultimate warrior
