- 134lb halibut caught by Dan Ashcroft and Ron Gardener from skjervoy, northern Norway, smashing both previous best's. The beast took both Dan and Ron's baits and after several powerful dives was eventually bought on board after straightening out the gaff! The huge fish was unhooked, measured, photographed and return unharmed, along with a 42lb halibut an hour before, maximum respect guys. the fish was part of a 25+ halibut haul between 9 Essex anglers, fishing from 3 boats with many fish over 40lb with a couple of fish in the 65+ range along with cod to 36lb.
epic vid guys! have u tried eating halibut? apparently its one of the nicest tasting fish on the planet
what were u fishing for them with? (lures/perks/baits etc?) cheer 👍
Phil I have watched this so many times mate it's class well done to you all gentleman anything can happen in Norway and when you least expect it
thanks shaun 8 times to Norway and counting . i love the remoteness of the place the beautiful scenery and the wildlife , the fishing over the last 3 years has been hit and miss and you really have to hunt for the bigguns but with a 42lb cod this year i was happy as its a p.b for me! tight lines mate.
@@philbrowning7954 Nice cod mate we fished havoysund this year as last year was slow at skjervoy we had some decent halibut and found the camp boats and guides impressive. keep the video's coming I've watched the bass and the skate ones we are going to have a go for the skate march next year hope my back holds out
@@shaunbacon9212 was thinking of trying somewhere else for the same reason you mentioned ! what was the journey like to havoysund ? and the prices , boats etc any advice would be great. if you are on face book you can probably find my profile with mobile no: 07970728707 and perhaps message details or tag me in the info .much appreciated
