    On the 2nd set 8:30 , coco lost a crucial point on a long rally after attacking the net by hitting a lob . you can see Coco learnt from her mistakes, thereafter she didn't attack the net even if the opponent was on back foot. she just continuing with groundstrokes to wear out the world no 1. As the match wore on you could tell the crowd was really getting in Sabalenka's head, and she started to over hit her shots deep in rallies and gave away a ton of points. She even references how much it got to her in her speech during the awards ceremony.

    • @piqo44
      @piqo44 Год назад +2

      I disagree. That was very low quality final because both were very nervous what manifest itself in number of unforced errors. Finals are usually not the best games played by finalists as at this stage nerves came to play. Take for example Wimbledon final, Ons was clear favourite against Vondrusova but she played her worst match on the final and lost 2:0
      I think this year AO final and FO final were played on higher level than Wimbledon and US Open, not to mention finals from previous years.
      Sabalenka played very trivial and predictable tennis based on sheer force, Gauff anticipated her moves and presented great defensive skills that was enough to beat Sabalenka. Gauff has really great movement, probably next to Swiatek she has best footwork on tour and thats nice that they both can resist heavy hitters like Sabalenka.

    I'm watching the Australian Open, was worried about Coco being able to beat Sabalenka and came back to this match. True the crowd carried Coco but she also remained strong and kept fighting. Knowing this, the 2024 Australian Open should be VERY interesting if these two meet again. Time will tell...

    So happy for Coco.
    And... why did this extended cut show more highlights of the one who lost rather than it Coco's many more winners ...

      @rkms5606! I agree! And I don’t like when commentators let you know who they’re rooting for, especially when they said Sablenka is going to “drag Coco off the Court” @ 6:29 is tacky! I’m glad Coco won!😂😂😂

      Agreed!
      I am enamored by Aryna since her AO win but Coco's strategy was A STRATEGY. I forgot which commentator or which you RUclips channel was talking about this but they worded it like
      "Coco's plan is to find the threshold that will cause Aryna's collapse and, man, collapse SHE DID."
      I was like ....."Coco is freaking dangerous. Mad scientist!"
