I guess simple niches like where do you sports apparel, or a particular sport's team history (+ you can add what values they instill to sway people to support such team) can be a potential series to make... Welp, we were wrong. Warriors were GOLD BLOOEDED on both sides of the ball and were the last team standing and won the Larry O Brien trophy. Suns lacked heart and grit vs Mavs and got smashed in games 3, 4, 6, and especially game 7. Celtics had legit defense and athleticism to get to the NBA Biggest Stage but they lacked a point guard, a bench, and their stars werent consistent enough.
Just goes to show how difficult it is to account for injuries. If Middleton isn't hurt, the Bucks probably go much deeper and could easily fit your scenario. Especially since they lost in 7 without him. Also, are the 76ers more competitive with a more healthy Embiid? Does the Heat play better with a full complement of healthy players?

If Middleton isn't hurt, I don't see the Bucks losing to the Celtics, especially being up 3-2 without him. I think that is the million dollar question isn't it? Yeah that's a tough one. Based off of the Nets performance of that year, I can see them handling the Hawks in the ECF but the Suns in the Finals? Man I don't know. The Suns couldn't stop Giannis because no one on their squad could match up with him. Even though KD is a stellar offensive machine, I can see the Suns matching up well against the Nets squad overall that they would've taken the series, thus winning their first NBA title in franchise history. BUT... that's just me speculating. Killer question! How do you see events playout if the Nets beat the Bucks in that scenario?

Absolutely. I really thought the Suns were the only team in the West who could've beaten the Warriors, but the Mavs came out swinging and took care of business. Very surprised by that and happy for Mavs fans, but yes, I would've picked the Warriors over the Mavs due to overall depth, talent and experience leaning towards the team by the Bay.
