Updated on the Powder: It performed really well for 4-5 hours before requiring a touch up.
Updated on the All Over Face & Lip Gloss: The gloss on the cheekbones and lips performed well. However, on the eyelids with the powder shadow, the gloss did not perform well. It mixed with the eyeshadow which migrated into the creases of the eyelid. It was a very stylized/editorial look, but a bit too undone for my daily preference.
Update on one shade lighter: From the comparison swatches, one shade lighter would be something I would consider for under the eye.

I am having such a hard time picking a shade. I am about your color, maybe a smidge lighter, olive skin tone. If 5 is a bit dark for your inner face, I may have to do 3 (light beige, warm undertones). The olives are 1.5 and 6. Way too light and way too dark.
Recently purchased my Gucci powder in shade #3 and it matches perfectly! I’m liking it better than my Chanel.

Everyday Edit I have Chanel lose powder, shade Clair 20 which I still love but I find the Gucci powder in shade #3 to give me a more natural healthy look.
Grace, your makeup looks beautiful! I have the Gucci powder in #5 but I use a brush instead of sponge or puff so I get lighter color but then lighter coverage. I always use brush for setting powders. So try with brush to see if shade is lighter & if you like better. 😊❤️

Hi Grace, just a little tip about the Gucci powders: If you push the upper lid open a bit more, the lower lid opens by itself and you don't need to push it with you finger nails :-) Always enjoy your videos. xoxo

IMHO your skin still looks glowey despite wearing the powder. Is it an illuminating powder? I am desperately looking for a replacement for my Laura Mercier powder, it was the best. Most other powders look chalky or cakey on my skin.

Thank you for this excellent review of the two Gucci products. I wanted to buy the powder during my visit to Toronto; I hesitated because my skin is dry and I worry about it being suitable for mature skin. I did splurge on two Gucci lipsticks ❤️simply beautiful shades and formula.

The Gucci powder shade you chose looks perfect for your skin tone- even under your eyes. Not sure if it’s the lighting tho.

💕Thank you! I love this question. I haven’t tried them side-by-side, but my initial thoughts are that they are two different kinds of powders. The Chantecaille states it is universal while the Gucci comes in several different shades. The Chantecaille is more translucent while Gucci provides observable color. The Chantecaille is much more of a no powder powder while the Gucci leans towards a more powdery appearance, but isn’t powdery compared to standard powders. The Gucci addresses my oily skin a bit longer than the Chantecaille. I will try them side-by-side in the next week or two and update 🌟

Is the packaging of Gucci Compact Powder is plastic? Good quality plastic?

I was able to order this from the US Gucci site. It doesn't come up if you are just browsing the site but if you google the product name you can find it. Very odd.

Hi Grace, thank you for such a great review. I would love to know your opinion on using the Gucci powders in different shades for other purposes. I ordered the shade 5 also and it might be a tad dark for me also but it has not arrived yet. I think I should of ordered 3 which is for light beige skin tones. I also ordered 2 & 4 which I read has more of a light with pinkish undertones which is not me at all but I was thinking of trying it under the eye area just to brighten it & to use it as a finishing powder. What is your opinion on how it would work as a finishing powder being it has pinkish undertones do you think it would work for beige skin tones? Gucci did not make it easy to purchase the right shade.
😊Wow! It sounds like you'll have so many shades to choose from 🙌🏼 I love using different colored powders for different parts of my face. For instance, I love Charlotte Tilbury 1 under the eyes and 2 for the rest of my face. I think your question about the undertone is excellent. When it comes to lighter vs. deeper if the undertone aligns it's much easier to make it work. For me, a pink undertone is usually too cool, but if it were peach it would work really well. So, if your beige skin tone is cooler, the pink undertone may work well. I hope that helps.
