There's a truly beautiful darkness to this track. When I shared this with a friend, they asked if it was about drugs. But just like with any amazing art, it's so wonderfully ambiguous and open to interpretations that it could be about many deep things. To me, it could be about anything that feels like it's got a hold of you and is crushing you. Be it anger that turns to wrath / rage. Drugs, or even what seems like love, but it's not really love, because perhaps it's not reciprocated, so it's one way and feels like there's a boa constrictor wrapped around your heart, squeezing the life out of it with each breath you take...

Dick and really coming into it's own in the 1980's with works by Gibson, Scott himself, and many others. Since the genre was out of fashion for a long time and has only recently seen somewhat of a resurgence, a lot of people are thinking that shows like Altered Carbon are a new genre, when in fact they very much aren't, rather being a new example of an established genre.
