@Alice Thanks. Not actually sure it's schizophrenia now. We think I could be bipolar instead. Either way this song is relatable for the addict line alone, and I've been psychotic before. Marijuana addiction is my biggest problem right now. 😔 Good luck to you as well, in whatever you may need it for.
@@astridmyst Thank you for asking and your well wishes. I probably don't have schizophrenia in reality. The psychiatric nurse I see is a moron who doesn't listen and hasn't actually formally diagnosed me with anything. But I have an addictive personality and struggle with substance abuse. TIL that Emily Herself directed this video. First of all, this is one of my favourite Night Club songs, and among the first of their tunes that I was introduced to. This song perfectly encapsulates that emotions of being in a toxic af relationship, where your brain knows that it's utter madness to remain yet, as the saying goes, the heart wants what the heart wants, and stuck in that festering sewer of dysfunction you remain. The vast whiteness of the set, paired with the straight jackets, and the various Emily personalities, really emphasize the clinical, insane asylum feeling caused by the endless circle of 'should I stay or should I go...' I haven't seen my mental stability in quite some time, I'm pretty confident it skipped off to go play in highway traffic. Lol. If it happens to encounter yours upon its travels, I know they'll become fast friends. CC
As a past misdiagnosed Schizophrenic, now diagnosed as BPD and DID, this song isnt a push of stigma at all, this is very accurate to what mental illness can make you feel like, especially in manic episodes. I normally dont listen to this type of music, the beats normally irritate me, but I love this
DID is that dissociative identity disorder?? That would be where you experience depersonalization or personal/identity disassociation?? If so I suffer mental illness and have symptoms common with disassociation in which I experience varying degrees of altered sense of environment and reality, it's almost like all of a sudden everything that I know as common reality is abruptly distorted and my world seems different and feels differant and I lose my sense of relation to my world. It can be minor as if the day is just odd or more complex and I feel like I didn't know where I am and I have have to reorganize my sense of orientation. It can catch me off guard and it can cause anxiety and I have to use breathing techniques to ease it and reassociate. But mine is from excessive and prolonged use of illicit substances.
Amazing how many people suddenly have this insanely rare disorder. Less than 1.5% of the population *actually* suffers from DID and less than half of those can function well enough to live outside of institutional care. It’s amazing as there are currently more people on tiktok and RUclips claiming to have DID than people who’ve ever been diagnosed in all of human history, both living and dead.
@@negig2161 Don’t you pay attention to social media? In an amazing coincidence DID has apparently gone from effecting less than two percent of the population to something like half. One voice says to like the pain
Of being next to you
The other likes to fuck my brain
Tells me to run from you
So help me, help me, have you seen
My mental stability
I think I need a pill to keep my sanity
Don't wanna be an addict
But I'm feeling so
Schizophrenic
One voice says there's more to life
Than being stuck with you
The other knows I'd die tonight
If I'm not close to you
So help me, help me, have you seen
My mental stability
I think I need a pill to keep my sanity
Don't wanna be an addict
But I'm feeling so
Schizophrenic
Medicate me and sedate me
Chain me to bed
Medicate me and sedate me
Turn off my head
Medicate me and sedate me
Chain me to bed
Medicate me and sedate me
Turn off my head
So help me, help me, have you seen
My mental stability
I think I need a pill to keep my sanity
Don't wanna be an addict
But I'm feeling so
Schizophrenic
Medicate me and sedate me
Chain me to bed
Medicate me and sedate me
Turn off my head
Medicate me and sedate me
Chain me to bed
Medicate me and sedate me
Turn off my head

Just discovered this band and OMG! As someone with schizoaffective disorder, I can relate to these types of songs. Music is something that really helps when the voices are becoming a problem again.
I've been waiting for this for so long. I'm so happy .💜🎃👻
