Railworks. Better graphics, more realistic routes, and incredible gameplay. I've loved Railworks, and plan on getting Railworks 4: Train simulator 2013. :) Hope this helped, --Dash
Trainz has that feel of accessibility and "easyness" it's simple... Pick a route, place a consist, and drive it Even Surveyor is easy for beginners!!! But it is years behind from Dovetail Games' Train Simulator series in terms of Graphics and overall physics But TS is hard, VERY HARD, i hate its route creation tool... But i like driving trains on it... So if we have something which has TS graphics and Trainz Surveyor then that game would be the Perfect Train Simulator
@Dinosorable well, there is trainz paintshed where you can paint an existing train the way you want it to look but you would have to look into the building part on your own
This looks really good, but what if anything is the goal in this game? Is it similar to rail road tycoon or do you just drive trains around on the track like a model rail road?
@TRR2014 Exactly. I want there to be a Trainz game where you can build your own locomotives, easily in the game. In 3Ds Max, it's very hard it build things.
I recognize those a couple of those "new" trains. The Acela has been on the Download Station for years, and the ATSF B40 can e found of the JointedRail website.
@Trainmaster189 I never got a virus from the DLS, and it was a good place to share the things I made. Then they locked me out in a program of forced obsolescence. I'm having trouble justifying $1,000 for this game (price of the disk plus the new computer to play it on) when I'll have to do it again in a few years to stay in the club. TRS04 still works. When they have some Japanese routes and maybe some 760mm routes from East Europe, maybe we'll talk about it.
I would have liked to hear what the 'sound' sounds like particularly the Steam Locos. I was very disappointed with earlier Trainz releases because of this. I switched to Railworks it has good sound and OK graphics. Maybe this is why they play the music? Allan
Nice movie. makes you want to go and buy this. But can they give you 100% guarantee that this will work in your machine. TRS 2010EE dont work as there is a bug in the data system. Think I'll stick to my old faithfuls of TRS2006/9WBE at least these work 100%.

Yes, the Beta version of T:ANE is already out, but they said the official release of T:ANE is 27th February 2015.

My first ever trainz game was Trainz 2010, 12, and later on A new era. Not so long ago I got Trainz 12 back and built some things. Pretty good game.
