I got Jurassic park SNES for my birthday back in early 94… I loved it but had no idea what to do, never beat it, and I played it for years. The main problem was that there was no way to save the game… nearly 30 years later and I’m getting this day 1… game saves! And an actual in game map! I now have a mission to complete this game, 10 year old me would be excited lol
EDIT: also there is a rewind feature as well!
EDIT 2: just beat the SNES version after 30 years!!!
Lol that's awesome!
Must be a good feeling to replay and get the hang of a game from ones childhood 😊
@@Rightchickenwing Except when you go back and the game is somehow STILL hard or harder...F you NES Ninja Gaiden and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 😒
😄fax i had that same problem even thou i made it abit far once your turn the console off its over 💯💯
I'm in the same boat
I wish they would put the arcade games out, those are what people want.

I was going to comment the same thing but instead I gave you a thumb up!

The SNES Jurassic Park was one of my favorites when I was a kid. I pre-ordered the collector's edition, but it won't be here until after March, so I downloaded this on my Series X last night and relived some 30-year old memories!
I got it all digitally but will get the physical when I can find it. Shops here in Hong Kong typically only sell the big main games that everyone recognises. The gold mines are you will occasionally find a small shop in a random run down beat up mall that is tiny but just has stacks of every game for the Switch or whatever system they focus on. I know three places like that here but just ain't been able to go to them yet. Oddly, the one I usually go to happens to be right next to the Hong Kong equivalent of a seedy JAV shop, complete with window samples and a curtain in the doorway........... next to a videogame shop of all places.
It's a shame the SMS/GG version is missing from this collection. Sega CD and 3DO JP would have been nice additions.
The lost world is missing too
It is likely that Sega CD and 3DO were omitted due to size issues on the cartridge...
@@billymadden7676 highly unlikely switch cartridges can hold 32 gb of data both sega cd and 3D0 could easily fit on there along with all the other games and they could of still fit the movies on there to spare.
Could have thrown in the Sega Lightgun Arcade games too, would sit nicely with House of the Dead remake on switch.
Maybe they'll do a volume 2.
@@billymadden7676 Do you realize how SMALL game files where back then?? 353 MB. I had flipping thumb drives 10 years ago that could hold more than 100 copies of that game.
The Game Gear game is underrated. Shame it wasn't included as IMO it holds up better than a lot of the ones that were.
The best one IMO.
Yes, i loved that one
Yes I loved the game gear game
They should have added the Sega CD and 3DO versions.
which one had the knockoff actors playing the characters?
@@thecunninlynguist The 3DO one lol
Can't have 'em all.
I agree as well as Sega’s System 32 arcade game.
Would absolutely love the physical of this! Such a shame we have to rely on Limited Run for this. Not great at all 😢
Yeah I searched online and it’s BEEN sold out. I’ll get the digital on sale but Nintendo doesn’t have a good record supporting previous gen games.
The scalpers already got them all.
@TXetc the open pre-order window for the physical version was from September 1st to October 15th. Amazon and VGP might carry it in the future.
@@curious1053it wasn't a limited print. Preorder window was open from September 1st to October 15th.
Come on, Francis. There must be something you don't hate lol
RGT uploaded his review of the games a minute before Nintendo uploaded their launch trailer 😂
He had it preordered, that's why.
1993 was the Jurassic Park release year and I was 10 years old. So yeah , I was all in on anything and everything Jurassic Park 🤘
the SNES one is pretty ambitious (played it via emulation), never played the GB/NES ones...but like you, I am very nostalgic over the first Genesis one. I might've rented it like 3-4 times. I was really big into dinos after JP/Power rangers. I even tried to write my own sequel to JP (i had no idea about the lost world, and had only read the jr novelization of JP)
@@Ihatevideogames334are you SPED?
@@Ihatevideogames334good for you. Wanna a cookie?
What should’ve been made was a Metroidvania with selectable characters of Grant, Malcolm, and Sattler with their own weapons. And rideable dinosaurs as well, like raptors with distinct color from enemy raptors, pteranodons, triceratops, or (correctly dolphin sized, very first one that was discovered) ichthyosaurus. Or they could’ve made a (first) Dino Crisis like game with those three with rideable dinos.
I would love to see a remaster or something of the SNES JP. Wouldn't need to do a full on remake but smoother FPS sections with strafing and in return allows the dinosaurs to move around more and shoot acid from longer range to make up for the new mobility. Also, a arrangement of the music would be nice. I feel like having a map of the whole overworld area is a bit too much as it really isn't THAT big. Perhaps have a detailed map viewable at consoles in the buildings, and an indoor map system that unlocks the rooms as you enter them and remembers locked doors. That'd be a great game.
I never played the Mega Drive versions but i played the SNES version.
100% not worth getting unless youre 40 and this gives you nostalgia
I'm 38and it gives me nostalgia
I’m sorry sir, that does not qualify
I'm 36 and I saw the movie in theaters back in 1993.
I always loved the SNES game. Still own it from back in the day. Played that game sooo much. Only think they should have added is saves.
It was technically the first first person shooter on Council
Man this bring back memories I can't wait until limited run reveals the Home Alone collection just in time for the Christmas season.
Kutos to MVG for being part of the development process. Jurassic Park SNES was the first game I ever played. Picking this up for sure.

YES!! The Game Gear version was and still is the very best as far as I'm concerned! Just perfect!

@@Ihatevideogames334 i see you on every video saying this stuff. Why are you wasting so much time
@@Teddzworth Agree, also seen previous commenter in other videos. Something you're trying to communicate Mr Shredder?
Loved the different SNES and Genesis games back in the day; gotta love the 16bit war. You can also play the raptor in the 1st genesis game too. The 1st person mode was scary back then and so cool to see on the snes. JP2 has one of the best opening cinematics for the snes. Oh and JP for snes has a really crappy ending.
Yes indeed 😊

That would have been cool to have those additional selectable characters and level layout. Maybe someone will make a mod of it some day and do the metroidvania gameplay with the extra characters.@@whitewolf3051
I'm waiting on my switch preorder. It's been awhile since I played a retro jurassic Park game. I have memories of playing one on the genesis. I'm looking forward to it.
It's a shame the Genesis game hasn't aged well, it is the only one in the collection that I have any nostalgia for. I liked playing as the Raptor more than Dr. Grant though...
Not surprised the Genesis version hasn’t an aged as well, because it was handled by a crap western developer, the most western Sega Genesis games haven’t aged very well outside of their Japanese counterparts, which are far superior.
@@Adamtendo_player_1Dunno about the original, but Rampage edition is still awesome to play. The only thing i don't like about it is that i get the exact same feeling i had with Sonic the hedgehog. I live in the pal region and some games not only ran slower the music if was locked to the console's internal clock would be slowed down as well. Here's the weird thing, Sonic the Hedgehog sounded off it was like the music was written for 50hz but in the pal region it was slowed down due to the 30hz. I get the same feeling but opposite, i feel the music was written for 30hz and is sped up running in 50hz. It bothered the heck out of me the first time i revisited the game on emulation and i downloaded the NTSC version. It's gonna bother the heck out of me when i get this collection 😂
@@raptros another game that’s not optimised for PAL is Vectorman with the music being slower than the NTSC versions, the only games that are optimised for PAL is Golden Axe 1 and 2, every game that uses the Cuber driver (sound driver) and a few others especially if they’re programmed in Europe.
If you mean Rampage Edition hasn’t aged well, I’d like to have some of that crack you’ve been smoking
I never stopped playing them and love them for what they are. But yeah, I imagine it can be hard to get back into them after a long time.
If it included THE LOST WORLD JURASSIC PARK. I would have been all over this.. sad that It does not, but a great pick up for the people that grew up with these.
I remember pouring my childhood into The Chaos Continues but do not remember actually beating it. Time to settle the score.
Because it didn't have passwords, saving system or anything like that
Looking good RGT! Haven't watched in a while then really busy with life and whatnot. But you're looking healthy man keep it up.
My son is obsessed with dinosaurs rn. Gonna swipe this and see if I can get him into gaming. Didn’t even know this was a thing. Lol
if they gonna do a collection with these old school games. then they definitely need to do ether batman or spiderman for superNES and genesis and game boy.
@@Ihatevideogames334 well sucks to be you then. Lol
I would buy this just for the Genesis game. It was my 4th game ever and played it a lot.
@@Ihatevideogames334 damn bro, I hear you, take it easy.
I was worried (not familiar with Limited Run) there wouldn't be a digital release. Was very happy to see it pop up after all and instantly picked it up, mostly for the Mega Drive / Genesis games. They are some of my favorite childhood games that I still play a few times a year (still have my childhood copies) and I'm so happy to see them getting a re-release!
With Limited Run it is the physical ones that are the pain to get. Digital is almost always there.
My all time favorite jurassic park game was the arcade game in chucke cheese. Love how the seats moved and the power behind the shots and how the surround sound made the game so intense. I didnt care for tickets just wanted more coins to continue playing 😂
Played it when I was a kid on the SNES and the Genesis it was always a great game to me. Lost the game's over the years but have found them again and play them over and over again. I would like to pick up this collection for the switch it would be awesome. But Like to get it maybe for the Gameboy first. Awesome Video man keep up the great work.
RGT saying “cute emoji face” was hilarious. Get the bag
I can’t believe that they released this. Its an amazing collection that everyone should pick up
When it’s $15-$20 sure.
I LOVED the Jurassic Park game on Genesis. Sucks if it’s aged badly, but I’d probably still enjoy it.
#facts. Me too
I remember going to my friend house and playing this, I found it to be fun and hard. I wish I knew about this hard copy. I'll have to search on eBay, and such. I mostly just archive my personal NSW games.
What are the not suitable for work games?
I don't know. @@stevesharpe3370
I grew up playing the Game Gear version. I loved playing it over and over.
Same here ! It’s a shame it’s not on there. They should have included it instead of the game boy game. On game boy, it’s the same game as on nes but uglier. The game gear game was unique and unlike any other version.
@@BloodyGB175I watched a different review that said the GB version is more different than the NES than you would originally think. It's a slower paced, almost survival horror game.
Definitely want this, but I might be holding off to see if there’s a sale later this year.
JP SNES was my favorite game from that console. Got it when i was around seven and didnt beat it until i was 13. Still have my cart. Its always been the first game in any must have rom list and now im beyond excited to have it on current gen systems
I LOVED Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 2 on the SNES. The first one is one of my favorite Super Nintendo games and I never expected it to get ported to anything else ever! This collection is definitely going on the Switch Wishlist.
Thax man! My brother and I back in the day tried so hard Cooperating to beat Jurassic Park 2 on the SNES- we tried at different decades throughout our life. We both are in our 40s now and still haven’t beaten it. - 😮
I remember playing Jurassic Park on Sega Genesis and loving it as a kid. I rented Jurassic Park on SNES though never figure out how to play it. Jurassic Park :The Chaos Continues on SNES is definitely a game me and my brother loved renting. Probably wait for the Jurassic Park Collection to go on sale for Christmas.
I always loved the franchise but I remember all of the games not being very good. It made me sad too as a kid because I would rent them over and over but now Watching your review makes me remember why I didn't like them. Thank you for saving me the money 😢
I remember some of these! Nice recap
I preordered a physical copy, so I’ll probably get it next year sometime. I guess it was the rampage edition for Genesis that I remember playing as a kid, so I’m looking forward to trying that one. I hope they make another compilation with the Lost World games.
Mine actually just shipped from limited run today. But just standard version
It sucks that the physical version of this connection is only available in North America as the UK/EU version is digital only..
@@Adamtendo_player_1 sorry to hear that, that sucks there isn’t a physical in your region. Limited Run isn’t the best company here but it’s kind of a needed for these releases.
@@kevinkevin9096mine still says in production.. I'm anxious for them to ship it I hope it's soon
5:05 I remember that the SNES version was made fun of on the playground as looking like mini toy figures on-screen, and the FPS "Doom" section did not pick up the slack.
I also remember that my friends thought the Genesis failed to live up to the hype of "realistic graphics."
Comparing this game, neither side scored a victory in the console wars.
So excited, I loved the SNES game but because you couldn't save or even use passwords I never finished it. I'm totally buying this collection just for that.
Play on an emulator lol
Just not for me. I've never played an emulated or pirated game.
Jurassic Park for the Gameboy was my jam. Me, my brother and our friends were all playing the SNES and Gameboy Jurassic Park games.
JP2 is such a great hidden gem on the Gameboy. Always been a favorite title of mine.
Rampage edition is freaking AWESOME playing as a Raptor destrying choppers with summersaults, that stuff was awesome, and then there's Grant going Commando on everybody... Yay guns i guess... Still super fun game that alone makes the collection worth it. It's important to note that both Genesis games are based on the novels, not the movies.
A quick thing to point out is that you can also play as the raptor in the first Genesis game too. My favourite will always be the SNES version. I got it on Xmas day and remember leaving the thing on over night as it lacked a save feature of any kind or a map. Regardless, I did beat it as a kid eventually without any kind of guide. Playing it again as an adult I realise it is A LOT EASIER than I remember. The game is constantly giving you the objective and the only real difficulty is going back and forth between the 5 buildings to get the cards and try to interact with all the consoles in hopes that you got the one that lets use unlock the security or contact the ship for example. The eggs really don't take that much effort to find and the only two I can really see someone struggling on are in the western jungle area. The indoor segments haven't aged all that well but the game is designed within it's restrictions such as allowing you to pop enemies from way out of their view and having raptors just walk up and down in a fixed pattern and the like. The only real time it feels cheap at all is the occasional door that has a dilophosaurus just sitting right there waiting to spit on you, particularly the one when the game kicks you out of one of the elevators. In fact, that was shown in the video with the player just getting cheap shot killed. Again, SNES version still my favourite and still fun today.
I love the Genesis games! I replay them once a year and still have a blast with them. If you know what you're doing, they're pretty short playthroughs.
I loved JP on SNES as a kid never beat the game. Im getting the Switch digital version of this collection. I missed the pre-order window for the Limited Run physical version. This collection is well worth the price if your nostalgic or just curious about these games.
Well, I went and got it and it's great, I forgot how awesome the music on the SNES version was, but did they really remove the faces when the characters contact you? Is that a glitch or could they just not use the actors' likenesses anymore?
Flash back and out of this world are some of my faves!! Probably the reason why i loved jp for genesis.
If you haven't had the chance, give the Master System or Game Gear versions of Jurassic Park a try - super underrated games, and the art direction is beautiful!
Honestly the SNES version of Jurassic park looks very interesting to me. I grew up with a Genesis myself so I used to rent the ones for Genesis. I had fun with them as a kid, but when I think back I know they weren’t great games lol. Then they released the Lost World for Genesis and that game looked way better then the Jurassic World games. I like these isometric style games and I think it’s more fitting for the series over the side scrolling games. I also liked Lost World for Game Gear. The game was insanely easy though. I could get through the game without even getting hit much less actually dying. It looked really good for the hardware and times.
I guess what I’m saying here is I really hope we get a collection of Lost World games after this one. I honestly think those games were better though I have no idea if they were different on SNES.
I only ever played one Jurassic Park game back in the day to my memory... and it was on the Sega Genesis of all places because I think the game came bundled with the system, or I could have bought it separately I don't remember (so long ago)... I remember not getting far in the game as I struggled with an early section or the controls.
in my opinion, any collection can be "worth it" it all depends on how much it is. like 20-30 bucks would be a steal, any higher and you're starting to get questionable.
It's $30 on Steam. I'd imagine it's a similar price on other platforms. Apparently it has achievements too.
Universal studios had a Jurassic park tribute store for the 30th anniversary. Going in there seeing toys and bed sheets I had as a kid. Made me feel old AF knowing after seeing them in the museum portion.
Remember the plastic lunchbox backpack? Odd shape black tacticool looking nylon strapped thing that opened in halves from the top like a briefcase, pitiful little compartment for holding a sandwich, cylindrical molded space for a drink and a round one presumably for an apple or other round fruit.
Then there was the 20 something odd paged children's book adaptation of the movie with the film stills, and the dino toys - electronic screeching things or the "dino-damage" ones with the removable chunks of flesh. Wanted that original full sized T-rex so bad back then
I would of liked the Jurassic Park arcade game and Jurassic Park Interactive on 3DO, but this seems like fun. I'll try to find a used physical copy somewhere down the line.
Thanks Sean! Imma wait for the sale
I remember when the Sega Cd version came out, we played that every weekend until we beat the game, these are so nostalgic!
Rampage Edition is the one I played back in the 90s. I remember it being one of the first ever video games that I actually finished as a kid.
Emulation and the menus and options all look great - MVG and the team did a great job here. My problem with the collection is that with these classic collections that come out regularly now, I usually see 1 or 2 must play games, with a few middle games and some low ranking games too, a spread etc. With this compilation - I don't know... none of them look like must plays to me.
Totk was the same for me.
That's because these games were never that good
1:09 you got changed into a fresh set of clothes for your sponsor? Cool! 😃
Picking this up, I never played any of the JP games when they launched. Really want to give these a play through
That Gameboy gameplay at the end looks really fun!
I had no idea this was coming out. As a kid I played a lot of the game boy version, the genesis version, and I used to play at my friend's house the SNES version which I was jealous of not having. My late father was an expert at the genesis version. He really was good at that game and the Desert Strike series on the genesis. Hopefully in the future they sell us the Lost World games for the Genesis and the Sega Saturn which were both really great games. The Genesis version was similar to the SNES version of Jurassic Park 1. The Sega Saturn version was like a more refined side scroller where you played as compies, raptors, and hunters. It had the best soundtrack in the series and was the first soundtrack that Michael Giacchino did.
I bought this soley for the Genesis games. They are definitely a lot more stiff than I remember, and maybe they aren't very good, but nostalgia goes a loooooooong way.
Love this collection just wish they added the game gear and master system gamea bc why not? And lost world for genesis bc why not?
I enjoyed the Genesis game as a kid but I can remember the jank and finding it challenging because of it.
Very nice compilation.
I know these are the Nintendo Games but
I would really love to see the JP PSX version and the Warpath game in this collection.
Thanks for reminding me this came out. Have nostalgia for the nes version. Not sure if I will pick it up though.
I have both SNES cartridges still. Love them both but they definitely need time to get good at them and were always too hard for me to beat growing up.
I didn't know this was a think and now it's time to buy this
Geez I’m old. I remember my best and I played Jurassic park for Sega and co-op the entire game. The T-Rex slamming its head against the electric fence was wild back then. Man I’m old😅😅😅
I played a Jurassic Park game for the Playstation that I don't think is featured in this compilation. If it is, it looks different than what I remember. There are two things that I distinctly remember. I played a a compy in one level, having to duck down into footprints to keep from being smashed by brachiasaurs and playing that same compy, I had to outrun a T-Rex/Allosaurus/Carno in which I failed constantly. It was only a one-time rental, so I didn't get to play much.
What I remember is the Sega CD variety and wish that was part of this collection
6:54 I salivated to play the Jurassic Park video game for the Genesis. Omg you have no idea. Up to that time there were only so many great games but when this Jurassic Park Park for Genesis came out it was unique and so interesting. The graphics were awesome too compared to Nintendos and the game play and items actually were good to me. Yeah yeah I know u say it's aged like milk but man did it leave an impression with me. When I first saw the title of ur video I was like omg THIS game... and it is on there. So thank you Genesis for including this. It's actually good even though it's controls will be whatever and it looks old now.
MVG and the rest of the team did an awesome job. 🦕🦖
I had no idea this collection even existed
It was announced on Twitter/X a while back.
I wasn't aware either. And i don't have a Twitter account either, so... yeah.
Played a ton of Rampage Edition for the Genesis growing up, loved it... the first one was too hard though and I remember the T-Rex scaring the crap out of me.
I was so mad when my mom got my JP2 on the gameboy, she got me a random game that was on sale. Turned out to be one of my favorite GB games!!! i'm picking this up set just for that game.
I loved some of these games back in the day. I'm sure they're terrible now, but I still want to purchase this on sale and judge my childhood self.
Now I want an alien 3 collection.
A quick save for the snes one may make it worth a play
I really loved rampage edition, played it thru a bunch as a kid.
0:22 Some truly riveting gameplay footage of repeatedly trying and failing to step into an elevator. 😛
If this had the Jurassic park arcade game it would be amazing
I didn’t even know it was coming out. How do I keep up with releases like this?
It's one of those wait for a sale titles. It's nearly $50 in Canada. That's pretty steep for essentially some roms. 🤷
I remember the Sega game being preferred quite a bit back in the day. I played both it and the SNES game but my 9 year old self could never quite figure out the SNES game and I remember it not having a save. I got really good at the Sega game and beat it as Grant and the Raptor often.
I completely forgot this collection came out. Checked the website and everything is sold out. Are they gonna re-release it????
I remember seeing this movie in the theater and when that rex came out of nowhere I spilt my popcorn all over the place. If you do that now at these theaters the whole entire theatre will be after you with prices being so high.
Where can you busy this just on the e store or any box store? I’ve seen it on Limited run games and that’s it besides eshop but I want a physical copy, I need help
The sega ones were so good. Probably will pick this up just for those.
UGreen is a dope sponser too
Apart of my earliest game memories in ‘94 was the opening scene of Jurassic Park on the genesis. The eyes in the rearview with the TRex staring back never left my brain, lmao! I magically got pass the power station level and into the boat level, I was SHOCKED! Literally never made it past that level though. Never got pass the first level with raptor and used to CRY. Years and years later, I took to RUclips to see how the game ended. Still glad I can play it now. Now please…beavis and butthead genesis, scooby doo mysteries snes, Toy Story snes, POKÉMON RED-GOLD! 😂
Is this game out yet can't find it around my area or is this game hard to get
I remember at first envying the more detailed sprites and raptor mode on my friend’s Sega and then, when older, preferring the exploration of the SNES version at home. My main goals, however, would be to find out where the different dinos, especially the T-Rex and triceratops, hung out and just sightsee.
Dose Jurassic park (SNES) have a Save Feature?
Nice honest review. Not sure as i have all the roms on emulators. Will wait for an eshop discount..
