@@SnowyPlayer in reality the vast majority of the Greek army was encircled in Thrace or Epirus, only around 20k soldiers, most of them British, gave a last stand battle at Thermopylae, and then even those retreated. Germany's speed and blitzkrieg won the day, basically unopposed through the Greek countryside
German breaches in Greek Metaxas Line in Greco-Bulgarian borders were minor and insignificant. They just broke Yugoslavian defense and marched straight towards Thessaloniki . Fun fact : Greek Bunkers were understaffed and underequipped to 1/3rd cuz most arsenal and men were sent against Italy .
One of the severely few times I've been proud for my modern people. Greek troops performed in an excellent way although their terribly underequipped country.
Very well made, I also wanna start giving names to these alternate scenarios (ill probably post a comment with the name id like to give it), I think "What if Germany didnt help Italy in its invasion of Greece" is fitting.
With British and American lend-lease Greece could threaten or take Vlore by spring 1941 which would really endanger the Italian forces in Albania. From then, they either reach a peace agreement, or Greece stays in the war, which would really fuck Germany over.

Greece counterattqcked italian troops and freed greek land in albania that was given to albania by italy in 1913, although the majority was greeks. The line was stabilised even after spring attack where 500.000 italians threw everything they had in 300.000 greeks, losing officially the battle. Then hitler decided to attack with 180.000 men against a lightly guarded defence line. The battle of fortresses as it was named, was the first battle in ww2 that germans retreated, and the men there resisted until they ran out of ammunition. They were executed like soldiers after being honoured by the german officers. Greece, because of its brave and heroic resistance against axis, showed the world what can a small brave country can do against a superpower. That is the reason that greece celebrates the start of the war. Greek soldiers, with english in north africa and russian in stalingrand were the most brave men that protected our future
