Everyone forgets that Team Empire just came out of Challenger League. Huge props to them for being as inexperienced as they were and making it to the grand finals. Also, that coastline match was NUTS.

Tbh they are inexperienced but they where at invitionals last year and have being playing for long time.But yes they will get better
@@alfkarbster8867 they did go to the invitational last year but didn't get out of groups in fact they lost to both Mindfreak, now Fnatic and Liquid. They definitely will use this as a learning experience and get better. I definitely believe they can win the Season 9 finals if they make it.

Ya that coastline map was insane and it broke record for most rounds played with 22 previous being 15
Empire did good on coastline, g2 just showed their perseverance and edged it out. Border was unexpected- g2 really showed their flexibility and ability to catch their opponents with refrag after refrag with clutches to show why theyre the best. And well, bank made empire look like a ranked team, only winning a round that g2 gets a disconnect. Fully deserved win. Absolute domination. I think if empire learn to adapt rather than using the same strats over and over (relying on winning gunfights which is harder on lan) this match couldve been much closer
they lost not because of strategy or anything about the game process. they lost because of psychology, they caught "tilt" after the first map; in another word the first map final result broke them ... so the first thing they need to work onto - mentality. if you have "best of 5" you have to play "best of 5", not "best of one".
when you fight for the world champion title you fight in all the aspects, not just shooting or something ...
@@alexandervasyliev766 great point. And what we also need to remember is that one team is a world champion and a team of seasoned players with the highest number of hours in the game. The other just came out of CL, and still consistently has been firing on all cylinders. Just getting to the GF was a big deal.
@@alexandervasyliev766 if you look at their faces, you see no sign of emotion until the last few rounds. I think G2 just did really well at seeing the flaws in their strategies and Empire couldn't adapt
@@moosh7078 if you look at my name you will probably find Im Russian ... foreigners somehow misundesrtand what happens with Team Empire, how they play, what are weaknesses and stuff. Moreover, the team already gave commentary on their play, of course in Russian .... moreover, you can visit one of the streams of their coach and say something about strategies, be ready for laugh ))
In overall, Im not going to push you my friend. Its just clear the biggest problem of Empire on this tournament was psychology. Not only grand final, all the tournament starting from the very first game against Immortals. Some people on RUclips say so much bul**hit, just dont be one of them, I hope you are a nice guy. Just believe me. I talked with their coach before the tournament, I`ve read what they say and their interviews, we`ve got the latest news from inside cause we are Russians, and we sort of understand a little bit more about Team Empire.
PS pay attention, even Fabian in his interview on stage said that Empire lost on the first match. Pro player understands what happens ....

Congratulations Team Empire and especially G2 for winning, once again proving how strong of a team they are. It’s amazing how inexperienced Team Empire is and can still make it to the Grand Final

Saving strats doesn't mean you lose against teams who you are usually dominating. They just had a bad half of the season, I really don't think saving strats has much to do with it

There's a lot to say about this match. First of all, Empire just came out of challenger league, so the fact that they made it to the grand finals of the invitationals and put up a pretty good fight against G2 is insane. Yes, G2 did win the final 3-0, but the scoreboard doesn't tell the whole story. The first map, coastline, couldn't have been closer. 22 rounds. It really felt like empire should have won that map. After coastline, empire looked like they ran out of steam. 4-7 on border, and 1-7 on bank. I think they just aren't used to having matches that can last for more than 3 hours. Maybe with some more LAN experience, Empire will turn out to be even stronger than G2.

@Susnn Trailing? Empire every second round. The scoreboard went like this for the whole match : 1:0 1:1 2:1 2:2 2:3 3:3. Empire lost a round won a round lost a round won. a round. AND THEY HAD 5-6 ROUNDS WHERE NONE OF EMPIRE DIED!!!
Keep in mind the first map, Kanto was not at shape that time, he needed to warm up and when he did no OT forced, IMHO
Brandon stop g2 is better over 7-1 on bank was for Jonas disconnection otherwise it would have been 7-0 dude they banned Mira g2 adapted and raped them the challenger league excuse is bs bcuz they are winning the pro league and they played well it is impressive but that is not the reason they lost on border g2 banned the map 15 times and this was their pick so.... and I feel like g2 made a mistake in their first attacking round when they lost an ez 4-2 and gave a bit of momentum to empire otherwise another 7-0 lol and on coastline empire played well really good but who won the map g2. so why don’t u just say gg g2 or nothing to say it was just g2 demolishing them ?

They only lost to exaustion from playing 22 rounds of coastline they were out of Gas but that's where G2 excel on experience stamina and strategic gameplay & world champion again they showed the whole siege world how to win defensive maps which is off the meta . I think most of Team Empire rosters was in the Pro League roster last year and it was named Room Factory. Back then when Karzheka and Scyther have not joined yet

the golden times... where G2 was almost unstoppable and team empire was a hell of a team (speacially joystick they were so afraid they had to ban jager and ash) now G2 is just another team and the same goes to team empire!

If Empire can learn from their mistakes and develop some new strats they'll have a bright future. Maybe they need a new coach or a second coach/analyst. But they are still a winner after all. If you come from CL and youre on top of EU PL and got 2nd at SI youre a winner

Mr Feast The season G2 is the best is because they adapt. Never do you see them with consistent strats. They are always changing ops and which player plays those ops. The only consistent players you can say are on G2 are Kanto and Goga who play pretty much the same ops but they do change it up every once in a while. Empire uses the same ops on the same person.

Man, I know so many cases of underdogs beating the best teams in esports that I actually had high expectations for Team Empire. But, nevertheless they played fantastic throughout the entire tournament.

I knew the winner of Coastline will take match because of how much momentum they would had from winning such a tight unlimited OT, Empire put up a good fight on Bordor as well but were burnt out by Bank, would've been a different story if they had won Coastline. G2 OP.

whoever you were rooting for you simply cannot talk shit about Empire. Straight out challenger league, playing a best of 5 against the best team in the history of siege? of they had won it would've been the perfect Cinderella story, however after the war of attrition that coastline was (which may I add that it is G2's best map) you cannot blame them for falling short in the next 2 maps

@@bolog3465 No it is not. If you look at older matches from CL and PL you can see that empire dominates on consulate and oregon. Coastline and border are their second best maps. I've watched empire since October Trust me I know which maps are good for them. Oh, And also: They ban villa 100% of the time

I think if Empire focus more on strats and counter strats, and joystick gets better on at least 2 other ops they will beat G2 in a rematch. Gun skill and fragging power are roughly about the same on both sides. But what makes G2 good is their counter strats and adaptability. Also target banning ash or jaeger severely impacts Empire, which is not good. At the very least though Empire will dominate all the other EU teams in pro league.
To be fair Joystick does play other ops and he's insane with them too, he plays vig a lot, and he plays buck alot, when his two mains are ban yes he won't be at his peak but he's still a great and deadly player with any other op.
