Lol (To me) this is why all the people saying that the USA police force is horrible and should be abolished don't really get it. The reason we have some sort of order in this country is due to our law enforcement. The vast majority of countries around the world are nearly lawless and you can get away with so much (law enforcement can get away with more corruption too). One hand shooting isn't that bad if you know how to do it properly.
The price of ammo has gotten so expensive lately, I can't afford to waste rounds like that.
Here's my opinion :
1. This technique is used by Indonesian Police Officers. They don't have taser gun and pepper spray. And this technique is quite effective.
2. Warning shot are for suspect and people who are in that area so they know there is police activity.
3. Usually people like this have mental illness, because first of all nobody wants to hold weapon in front of police, not like America.
4. In Indonesia almost every harmful suspect just got shot at leg. Even armed suspect usually run and got shot at leg.
5. In America criminals brutally shot, tasered, sprayed, even women holding knife shot dead, just 1 women.
6. In America criminals often say "stop this, i am not doing that, the handcuff is hurting my hand, i don't want to be arrested, bla bla bla".
7. In Indonesia the suspect that arrested will easily handcuffed and easily put in patrol car, in police office they tend to be quiet and passive.
8. in Indonesia, citizen sometimes helps police (in this video, every people who doesn't hold gun is citizen), citizen always use what they can get to help.
9. In Indonesia no one will be kicking at police officer while being handcuffed, because they know they will be punched if they hit police officer.
10. Its time to learn from Indonesian Police Department where their budget not being reduced. And they aren't taught to babysitting suspect or criminal.
Anyway FYI, this guy in the video got shot at his leg in the end. And no mother will come into court to seek justice, period.
I'm not seeing any links in the description for additional videos of this incident. All there seems to be is advertising stuff, whether from your sponsors or your own stuff. Which is fine, but it would also be nice to see how they finally subdued the guy.

You find that in countries with really prescriptive "policing from the bench" regimes, the officer has to fire warning shots in close proximity to a directed shot. In the past this was not an issue as the sequence of firing would be impossible to establish but with the proliferation of mobile cameras, the police are stuck with dangerous procedures...

It's protocol for police to fire a warning shot to the air or to the ground with careful consideration of the surrounding so as not to cause harm. However, most officers can't be bothered to follow this rule.
Warning shots are required in some countries! You MUST fire a warning shot before you can shoot the attacker! Of course, only a few people stick to this, they shoot at the attacker and then once into the air so that a second bullet is missing. However, with all the cameras it has become difficult to get around something like that!
We in Austria have the lightest gun laws in the world (If you are 18 or older you can buy a rifle without a firearms license), but here you are not allowed to kill anyone, even if they attack you! If you kill someone it is called "self-defense transgression" and you get the same punishment as manslaughter.
The other thing with shots into the air, at some point gravity takes over & they come back down. A bullet travelling at terminal velocity could hit an innocent person on the head with enough force to kill them 😳
In the States that knife man would have been dropped after the first or second time he was told to drop the knife. These guys fired 12 or something amount of bullets into the air and the knife man took off down the road. Those bullets could fall back down and hurt or kill someone too. So they did more harm than good.

When in paramedic school I did ER hours in Houston and a guy came in bleeding from his ear. We grabbed a light and looked in his ear and there was a bullet. It fell from the sky and entered just off center of his skull....slid down between scalp and skull and stopped visible in ear canal. From a bullet shot into the sky. Those cops should have put in a non lethal round and ended it asap rather than endangering others.
