Tak: I'm just gonna ignore the Shadowsword.
Also Tak: I'm just gonna Command re-roll to blow up the Shadowsword Turn 2.
Hey, that explosion did more work than the WS did that round.
A CP reroll he didn't need to make. Lancers cannon does 1d6 + 3 damage each. After the Lancer reroll it was 3+3+6+1= 13 when I went to school Nick, not 11.
Man, it's really fun seeing the normally calm and reserved Tak get sucked into Nick's infectious excitement and giggle about explosions. Great game y'all
love nick. captures the childlike joy that many of us take in the fun scifi battles
The battle rep was awesome, but something I noticed. I believe the shadowsword has devastating wounds against vehicles so at 23:37 Nick’s 6 to wound just flat out killed the lancer and Tak didn’t need to use a CP on the reroll attempt on 4+ invu
Thank you! We didn't realize that at the time so unfortunately it was an unnecessary CP spend by Tak. Something we now know and will look out for in the future.
Oh my lord haha
There's something poetic in seeing Sanctus Nick being blown up by his own Shadowsword's explosion
Saturday Morning Villain style I daresay 😂
also just the entire deployment watching their chaplain getting fucking eviscerated in front of them. It's just so funny.
The dice just absolutely hated Tak this game, brutal. Nick on the other hand annointed his dice in holy water.
Tak chose the wrong Emperor 👑
Aberrants being able to return is absolutely insane for the amount of damage they can dish out and soak up.
definitely op

wow haha... I think PlayOn is meant to be a slightly better community bro. Check that ok?
Let's go Mutants!!
Tycho's intros.....omg.
This game is gonna be awesome if only for that reason.
He's pure entertainment.
As much as I love JT, Tycho really brings a whole new level of epic to the table with his narration
Love seeing a shadowsword hit the field. Such a fun unit
It looked awesome. I had to check to see if the SM can ally it but alas they can't
*I've been waiting 40 years for Tak to play for the White Scars.* 😅😅
His first game with White Scars was this one a couple months ago ruclips.net/video/s6oDddxndVw/видео.htmlsi=QYzA9PHEQjUe0p17
I legitimately cheered when the Shadowsword not only got knocked out by a smaller tank, but ALSO blew up a goodly chunk of Nick's units; I also lost it at Tak's running streak of low rolls in that last round, those dice were out to get him! Thank you for such an amazing match, this was one of the best ones yet
Outrageous rolls there at the end, on both sides of the table. GG
Tyko calling me buttercup made my day.
Things I learned today: Genestealers have better unit rez than the techno-arcane hyper-advanced Necrons, who’s entire schtick is rezzing dudes in combat.
Classic GW…
Having to roll wounds equal to the model to rez is just stupid.
Things *I* Learned: Who would win, a Centuries old genetically enhanced certified badass clad in the heaviest most durable armor the declining empire he serves can give him, or the infeasibly alive, heavily mutated bastard child of a baseline human and one of the most common creatures made by the Tyranid Hive Fleets armed with only a Hammer and wearing only a Loincloth?
The Answer, the one with the 4+ FNP.
too be fair the flavor isnt that theyre reviving the dead like the necrons but theyre just bringing up reinforcements cause there's so many of them
Technically speaking like Guard its not a rez, but pulling in reinforcements. Also kind of depends how much the map and army composition lets their opponent hunt the blips. This one was pretty much an example of how oppressive it can be when the map and objectives let them hide the blips in safety and still be useful.
Always happy to see a GSC match. Those free rez were so crucial this match, I can’t believe it came down to those charges.
ALL HAIL THE FOUR-ARMED EMPEROR!!!
I can't believe how unlucky Tak is. Luck's the only reason he lost and it still came really close. That's just frustrating.
Well, arguably that explosion was incredibly impactful, and that was Tak being LUCKY. In the end I think both were equally lucky/unlucky this game, felt really close
@thehappyfaceproducts 100% disagree. The only luck he got all game was the Shadow sword explosion AND HE DIDN'T EVEN ROLL THAT SIX!
The number of times Nick brought back units, nailed his feel no pains, and rolled mortal wounds was absolutely nutty.
Poor Tak got next to no charge rolls that mattered in the mid board and Omega objective, kept rolling low on his advances, and had to use a double re-roll to kill the shadow sword because he rolled DOUBLE ONES on damage.
@@joshuataylor5080 Sounds like you're agreeing with me rather than disagreeing. :)
@@Argumemnon sorry, my original comment was in reply to the guy above me. I agree with you 100%
@@joshuataylor5080 Gotcha. RUclips's system sometimes makes it difficult to tell.
Damn, three three's in a row. Ouch. Been there, I feel your pain. Awesome match.
3 3's in a row with a CP re-roll....well damn.
This was a great battle. Love the GSC and that alpha-strike.
While Nick played well, his luck (or tak's bad luck) was what saved him in the end :) GG was on the edge of my seat!
I don't play 40K, but I still love your battle reports. So beautifully produced! It's a pleasure to watch.
One of the best battle reports you guys have posted recently, amazing work and amazing game guys!
Yeah!
Nick: My heart is in my chest right now!
Me: I would certainly hope so Nick, that's where it's supposed to be.
So basically every genestealer cult unit is Roboute Guilliman but better, got it.
The cult emerges once more to grace our eyes and ears. Praise the four-armed emperor for the day of ascension is at hand!
Nick makes watching these games so fun
42:56 Burninating the peasants!
Burninating all the peoples
And their thatched-roof cottages!
Thatched-roof cottages!
Man, Tak came so close and he was up against like, 200% of Nicks listed infantry thanks to those insane redeploy rolls. Insane game from both.players
There is clearly a lack of Alpharius in this battle....
Alpharius was there the whole time
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Aberrants are the number one reason I HATE playing against genestealers. Theyre FNP is insane and they hit like a truck lol
Whitescars dreadnoughts wow that's rare
I know but the Brutalis seems like such a good White Scars unit
19:05 - Let's just appreciate how crazy-good that tank shock roll was. 22 dice, looking for 5+ means that on average, you'll get between 7 and 8 mortals. He rolled 14.
Think it maxs at 6 mortal wounds
He could get 500 5+ and it still only does 6 MW anyway
I really love this channel, I hope you make more imperial fists videos in the future ❤️
I like seeing Nick win - also I like seeing Tak lose XD
I just picked up GSC, was hoping you guys would play a game with them, and my Christmas wish came true
Okay wait...Genestealers can bring back a full unit on a 4+ and people are mad at Necron reanimation? Okay, I see you internets! Fun Bat Rep, the back-to-back haymakers into the knight and the shadowsword was epic.
And this is their nerfed state
@@scolack123 Necrons got buffed recently so you have my condolences, but still that's a really powerful ability.
How balanced it is rather depends on how much the enemy army is capable of hunting blips, and whether or not you get a deployment and objective set up like this one where they can deploy somewhere relevant.
Please make more battles with Dark Angels 💚 and Black Templars and Space Wolves 🐺
I second the black templars
Yuck
Dark angels are the best (space wolves fucking suck)
@@BLACKWOODPMC Dark angels suck too lmao. Space wolves are just even worse
@@loudmusic4us179 templars 🔛🔝
Wow, Nick's rolls was bonkers this game while Tak couldn't get a roll to save his life! Time to banish those dice to the shadow relm.
That triple 3 on the last 3 rolls of the game was actually infuriating and sad at the same time lol.
this was literally down to the wire . great job
anyone else notice that tac couldn't actually cp reroll to kill the tank, he had already used a cp reroll that phase so sorry tac but penelope would still be up
That was AMAZING! WOW! Great game Nick and Tak! Great game!
MERRY SCHEMEMAS-blue scribes
Nick is such a mood. Every episode, win or lose, he makes us winners with his presence.
Maybe i missed it but how many mortals were rolled for the explosion on the shadowsword?
it sucks that Genestealers have more of a respawn ability than it feels Necrons do...
Those dice are rigged at the end, so much 3's xD
Wow those secondaries on Niks last turn 🤭
what are the ods of getting so many low rolls over like 5 dozen dice near the end
This mission, terrain, deployment style and overall army composition was a treat to watch!
More Battles with Dark Angels and Tyranids
OR
Ultra Marines and Genestealers Cultists Brood etc.
Enjoyable game! Really good use of graphics to explain what's happening. Unlucky rolling in the end turn Tak.
Idk, I feel like the gene stealers comeback ability seems too OP on a 4. You could essentially be fighting double. Great br though
Only on battleline, and they pay for that in points cost and mostly being very squishy
Man... I really need to see a duel: Legendary Watson the DDA vs Penelope aka Shadowsword. It would be uneven but still a good fight (Watson is an absolute beast)
That would be something.
That’s was a hell of a explosion for Nick lol. Laughed so hard. So sorry :):):).
10:48 is Nick ok or is he laughing through some pain?:(
Man, those White Scars really pop from the battlefield, easy to see and love their simple but amazingly done color scheme - for the Cult it's a really nice and thematic rule to be able to use Guard vehicles, love it
I have decided that as much frustration it can be that GSC units don't automatically come back, it makes it all so much sweeter when they do.
Awesome match but one question about the free tankshock from the knight as cinematic as it was:
Isnt there a max of 6 mortals in the rules?
It does max at 6. There was only a few wounds left in that biker unit so the 6 mortals wiped them out.
White scars baby!
That was SO freakin' close! What an amazing game! I'm a new Genestealers player, so it really heartens me to see them give space marines a run for their money. ❤
But well fought in both directions, what a game!
That was amazing!! New favorite !
Amazing as always team! What an episode! We need more White Scars!
This format and these games are THE BEST 40K played games to watch without a doubt. Thank you!
An epic showdown! Was very excited to see some GSC again - glad to see Nick do the four-armed emperor proud! It was absolutely down to the wire!! A great video! Keep it up :D
White Scars! Yes! Let's go!
feel no pain feels OP after seeing Nick's rolls xd
I know this is a friendly game but god damn Tak your rolls…smh 😅
Those turn 5 feel-no-pains, wtf! Dice so hot they were melting.
19:05 I'm sorry 15 mortals! 😲 That was the best roll we've seen in a long time! 🤣
It did cap at 6 mortal wounds as per the stratagem limit but it was enough to wipe the remainder of that squad. Otherwise, that ability would be over powered. If you want to see some crazy mortal wounding check out this live stream ruclips.net/user/livevKrIj0R8qpY?si=jBJ1GmS7jQLpadH6
Could we get DG vs ultramarines some time?
Realizing now we did them in previous editions of the game but not in 10th yet. Definitely something we can do in the future
6:39 does anyone know the name for the song
Do a T’au v Blood Angels
We have one from earlier in the year or do you mean another? ruclips.net/video/D0gZZWwwZkM/видео.htmlsi=6LbyGIO-MntawlIA
I love the fact that it's TYKO doing the talking this time. Here's hoping this continues.
I've been watching this channel for awhile now. Love what you guys do! It honestly inspired me to actually start collecting and painting myself.
I do have a question though. How do you remember all the unit stats, army rules, special commands and keywords? I'm so overwhelmed by all of it I feel like I'd spend half the game just looking in some index to find out what my units are even capable of...
Would love to see Tenth Edition Genestealer Cult vs Necrons, with both being strong, relentless combatants, it would be a very interesting fight.... Long distance Necron gunnery trying it's best to circumvent a hoarder of Genestealer bleeps.... Sounds canon.
Always feels weird to me when the center piece unit of armies is an allied unit.
That is entirely why I dislike these matches where you ally in the creamsicle, as that thing is tanky, damaging, and forces focus fire on it and the Shadow Sword gives the Genestealers too much tank power.
You know this match has made me question why tanks and mechs aren't allowed to charge a building/ruin and use tank shock on a building/ruin to try and damage the things inside the building/ruin.
Personally as well I think this objective rule is more fun in the Combat Patrol version I've seen where you don't declare which objectives go away at the start of the match, since it keeps things more interesting when you don't know where you have to funnel units to on the last turns.
Not sure I'd say a lot of nuance here as allying in something as strong as that tank just stops the ability to properly street sweep genestealers, and was far more absurdly poor RNG luck on charges, combined with putting objectives in buildings penalized the White Scars more. Also a basic Genestealers are ridiculous when they roll well on the respawn and the map lets them easily protect the blips.
Judging by your list posted, you don't have the correct enhancement listed for the Primus. Meticulous Planner is what makes a stratagem cost +1 CP. Not Inscrutable Cunning.
I want more Steve -.-
Steve is in one of the January games of 40k in 40m. And, he will be playing the White Scars
The restriction on Fire Overwatch needs unmodified hit rolls of 6 to hit but at 39.05 Nick rolls for overwatch and gets 2 6s yet Tak rolls 4 saves?
Hrm.. Tau Nick, Necron Nick, Genestealer Nick... should probably just sum up his names as Xeno Nick :D
43:00 Nice Trogdorr reference! Dice gods were not with the white scars this day. They must have offended the Emperor in some way. Looks like Exterminatus is the only way. Great game though.
It's showing that the White Scars are in Stormlance Task Force, but the use of Doctrines and Stratagems were all Gladius. >.> Was confused for a minute.
the reroll return mechanic is so swing-y... either it's OP or you overpaid for that ability. Either way, you have to plan for it in some way as the GSC player. it must be annoying
Honestly, I am so tired of seeing great games ruined by one of the worst rules ever implemented by GW, the random charge distance rule! GW get it gone already!!! Thanks for the batrep guys, such a shame it ended like it did.
Noob question here, I thought the Genestealers always deployed with the hidden markers so you didn't know where they were until their first turn. Is it just player choice or was that removed?
It was a 9th edition rule for GSC, now we have 10th edition with new index rules
@@vanichga2811 thank you! Seems kinda a bummer, that was an interesting and unique rule
I'm usually a quite man and I don't really like the over excited ppl but for some reason, Nick makes me laugh so hard, he has a such a nice energy! keep it up man, great match for both.
White Scars look beyond beautiful *chef kiss*
*large explosion* 🤤
Watching this battle report made me think- for some of the more epic reports, wouldn't it be awesome if there was a 5 min animation of how the battle went? watching penelope explode would be just glorious
This was super fun to watch, I've watched it twice.
And after the game finishes, Gargaz from Shootas, blood and teef comes through and destroys all the survivors.
What a great game! Congrats Nick! Those dice told an incredible story
Tycho giving the "voice of tabletop" a run for his money with this one. Also need a shirtless Tycho game just fyi.
Bro...Tac's rolls were horrendous...He was way more tactical and still unlucky. What a shame.
Its unfortunate every video ive seen so far (only 4 haha) the space marines have all lost because of bad dice rolls. How unfortunate.
Maybe not Keanu but we now for a fact that Henry Cavill is a massive 40k nerd so maybe you can get him on the channel sometime? lmao
Fantastic game all around. The Genestealers feel so squirrely they are impossible to fully take down.
Firing the shadowsword last instead of first against the knight physically hurt me 🥲 so many wasted demo charges
At 21:47 is it Legal to use the Nexos for a free stratagem that targets only the unit with the Nexos even when the stratagem being used states that you must target 2 friendly units and an enemy unit for the “Coordinate to engage” stratagem what’s the ruling on this?
usually I root for Nick but I HATE the Genestealers, so White Scars go!
