That championship was hers,if it wasnt for mechanical error. I always remember the stage she drove totally blind in the fog,because she had recced the stage the previous night,and memorised it. Imagine the commitment you must have,and the trust in your co-drivers pace notes, when you can see zero...1 mistake and disaster. She was going so much faster than Rohrl,that she caught him up on the stage,as he was the car out before her! Her achievements have never been matched,or got anywhere near to by any woman since.....legend.

I've seen enough videos articles discussion and even some kid's school report talking about her. it's safe to say she's got the recognition she deserves. and I don't think she mind the lack of attention as well unlike some other women out there who makes a big deal out of it. so much so that they want an all women's division as a way to present "equality" or something along those lines

Got a drive in FIA Group B in the 80s as a woman. Was very competitive and finished close second to Walter Röhrl in the drivers championship in 82. She also took a class win at Le Mans in 1975, and won Pikes Peak in 1985. Legend.
Team Lancia, 037, Fulvia, Stratos and the absolute legend Walter Rohl… made that absolute masterpiece of Audi Quattro lose. Sometimes I’m proud to be Italian.
She is right about the exhaust noise, pure music and as for her car control , she was an alien, had to be, such car control and always on the limit. Lady you are most definitely a GOAT. 🫡
Some of the scenes shown here are claimed to show Stig Blomqvist in other film clips of rally of the 80's. I don't know what is right or wrong. Othervise, Audi Quattro was a great rally car at that time and Mouton one of the greatest drivers.
