everyone wears blue jeans and a beige trench coat, but that doesn’t stop you from loving and wearing them and you love them! so wear sneakers!💪🏻 you will always be unique, even in clothes like others have because the finishing touch to the set is YOU and no one can repeat it
I dont like buying into trends, when everyone is doing the same thing.😅 i wear what i have and love when i want, i dont care if its in style or not. I dont like to walk around looking almost 100% like everyone 😂
Regarding the Adidas…it’s less trendy here in France, at least in my area. While it’s popular, what sets them apart is our individual style. I look at it from an entire outfit view instead of individual pieces. Love your channel. It’s one of my reference for minimal and quality style.
@Adeline, first May I say you are quickly becoming a fav channel, I so enjoy your calm direct manner as well as your fashion sensibility. Next two things; 1. Your sambas. I feel like if you could come up with your own “signature” styling with them rather than what everyone else is doing, you’d be happy. 2. The gray loafers. It’s hard to really know color virtually but my sense is that they would look really great with browns and the dark merlo red pieces you’ve been leaning toward. I hope that inspires you as you do me! Happy new year 2024!
I think the difference between the sneakers and the other trendy pieces you've been happy about before is likely that those trendy pieces represented a particular look of a piece (like a navy cropped jacket with no lapels), but it wasn't all the exact *same* item. Therefore you can buy a navy cropped jacket with no lapels but there'll still be enough variety in structure, color, material, buttons, pattern, etc that you'll still feel like you're not wearing the exact same thing as everyone else and you're wearing the version that best appealed to you.
I know the problem you have with the grey loafers. I had the same problem with a cardigan. When I bought it, I thought it was white and will work very easy with my wardrobe, but when I tried styling it, I remarked that it was not white, not offwhite, not creme. It had a weird undertone like a bit rose, but was not a real rose. I struggled some years with this cardigan and than I sold it. What I learned from this, is that if something like this will happen to me again, then I will sell the piece immediatly to get it out of my head
The samba's. I completely agree. I have not gotten them because they are so satuarated. You want to be unique instead of one in a crowd. When I see someone with them I just think, oh yeh they grabbed something someone else is using. However, they are beuatiful
hearing the thoughts about the trendy shoe and not wanting to wear them and liking them but confused about should you wear it or not was really painful to hear. If you like something, rock it…. It’s simple as that. Who cares if everyone else is wearing them. It’s not that complicated. Especially if it’s a piece that goes well with the outfit.
New subscriber here - I love your calm demeanor and your approach to fashion! Where would you recommend belts for petite ladies? I always have trouble finding ones that aren't too long and are good for cinching the waist.
I love most of your peaces (I'm not petite, I'm 5"8), however, love cropped knitwear, loafers, tote bags (I need it because job). Also, and I'm one of "fashion influencing" with Samba, but I love them! Mine are in black color and feet so well with my other clothes.
I've made the same mistake as you with your "greige" loafers but with rust jeans/pants. Rust is technically in my color season and it's a beautiful shade, but it is so hard to style and feel myself when such a bold color takes so much visual space in my outfits. No more red bottoms for me!
Hi, Adeline! I’ve been searching heaven and earth for a comfy wide tortoiseshell headband - pray tell, where did you find yours, please? I’ve been wanting the one from Machete but oh so pricey. Is yours comfortable? Thank you for sharing 🥰
Oh The Sambas! Yes I got them finally as the backlash was almost beginning to start: after the Prime Minister wore them and “ruined them “ for people. At first I found them a bit narrow and almost let the naysayers and a compressed left foot(the curse of slightly different shaped feet)put me off them. But they’ve become so comfy ( even the left) and I totally love them. I don’t care if other people are wearing them in droves… Clothes can be an expression of personality, but I figure my personality is stronger than any pair of shoes. You don’t have to dress differently to be different. You Are unique ….Believe in your power..😊
A quick word about at-home gel nail machines: be sure to give your nails a break between manicures. I got totally carried away when I got one-it was easy, fun, and cheap to have fabulous nails-that I totally destroyed my nail beds and have had to take the last year off all polish. Don’t forget to take breaks!
That grey loafers might work with similar tone outfits looks if you do. I think if you have a coat that is similar colour tone may work or even a scarf. It may work with the outfit you are wearing. Thank you for making lovey content. I found my favourite barrel jeans from cos few months back because of your video. That’s my favourite jeans as well. Gap has this very nice shape of barrel jeans. Perfect for petite. I hope they still carry I found that before Covid, it’s bit cropped but lovely shape. It comes with small ripped on the knees and with no rips at all. I hope they still sell those. And Totem has a nice and clean shape in different colours. Hope this is useful and thank you.
the way you styled that red sweater was so cute! I'd love to know more about the different skirts and trousers you paired with it. do you have links to those? thank you in advance 💖
I have to admit I have bought the Sambas now that they're almost going out. But I did it because I think they look really good! For an alternative the Onitsuka Tiger Tokuten seem to have a similar silhouette but nuch nore original choice. I'm thinking about these too 😉 and a pair of yellow Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 as worn by Black Mamba IYKYK😅
I love WNU as well! The quality is top notch and justifies the investment. I have been eyeing the brown shirt, but I'm worried the brown might be too warm for my skin tone (cool undertones). In person would you say the brown is more warm, neutral, or cool?
omg I was THIS close to getting the sambas but heard they are quite narrow and can be uncomfortable :( anyways, love the best purchases, and happy new year!
It really depends on your feet! I don’t find them to be uncomfortable, but they are very flat (and not much cushioning on the sole) which doesn’t agree with some people. x
Happy New Year, and welcome back, Adeline! Question: can you tell me what loafers you're wearing in the cutaway shot of the WNU green-striped shirt w/jeans and blazer? I've been looking for a pair of classic black loafers. Thanks 🙂
Hi Adeline, I really like your contents ! Happy New Year ! May I know your size of the Khaite belt u are wearing as I am a bit confused of the sizing . Thanks a lot 🩵
I would hesitate to use a gel nail dryer on a regular basis because they can damage your skin--among other things, making your hands look old before their time.
You and I and so many others….. hilarious DYE the shoes they are fabulous just not a comfortable colour…. I was contemplating today - could I dye a cashmere coat….. really pushing the bar there….have decided probably NOT. Hey, could you look into The Curated Coats, I so want one,but in Canada it is almost impossible…. Thanks Georgia
For the grey shoes, I agree - not a huge fan of the color. Could you do an all-black outfit and then have the shoes be the "pop of color"? Also, your cap needs to be the Boston Red Sox not the NY Yankees!! ;)
Are the trousers sold out? The link shows pairs that are rayon blends. Love that red sweater❤ All of these outfits are beautifully casual yet polished.
Hey Amy, thanks for letting me know I just checked the link. Those are definitely the trousers I bought because I got the link from my order confirmation email. The label in my trousers says 97% linen 😞 I’m going to update the description box to let people know x
Not trying to be sassy but….how is a NY Yankees ballcap special to you? I’m guessing that you like the logo…. I see that hat as the same kind of thing as the sambas. I grew up wearing them so for me they are just a normal shoe. Wearing a team logo is the same thing. People aren’t Yankees fans, they are influenced by social media to want that hat.
Completely valid question! I don’t normally wear hats and so any hat that I purchased and wore lots would have been special, as it’s an unusual accessory (for me). Also, did it have to be NY Yankees? Also no. I was mostly drawn to the fact that it was tweed, and I fell in love with it. But I totally see where you are coming from too.
I'm sorry but I am so concious of the camel toe of your jeans in this video...is that tolerable? I have a Toteme jeans that makes that V shape and I feel so concious about it so I rarely wear the jeans, which is a shame. I always thought that camel toe/V shape meant that the jeans or pants are too tight.
Geez cut yourself some slack. It's just a pair of sneakers. Don't need to be so dramatic. Not every purchase has to be life affirming. Needed to click off at that point.

AGREED!! 😂 I definitely learnt my lesson, haha
This screams sambas! I'm so glad I didn't buy them 😅

Buy a belt hole puncher on Amazon!! 😊
Happy New Year. Really appreciate your opinions especially around trendy items.

That burgandy jumper is gorgeous ❤

This one is from Arket - go.shopmy.us/p-3527418
I'll be honest, it's not that comfortable. I might stick something cushiony on the ends 🤭
Come and live in Sheffield. I have the Adidas Sambas, and I’ve only seen one other person in them! 😊
Hi Adeline,
Love the style and content of your channel! I would love to know more about your gel nail process. Maybe a good idea for a new video!lol

you look amazing in the reformation sweater! 😍 May I ask which size you purchased?
I am also curious ❤
I have it in XS - the sleeves are super long!

Nope! That's why I love them 😚

Great minds - I bought yellow Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 SD when I was in Tokyo in Sept! You might spot them and another colour in more recent videos. x
I didn't even know J. Crew sold bags! That tote is super chic.
I love it !

Sorry it took me so long to reply, I was on holiday and away from my wardrobe. I would say it’s more on the warmer side x
Terrific video! What size &other Stories beige trousers did you get?😊
I got a UK size 6 xx

I'd sell the loafers and the trainers. You're never going to change your mind and clothing items should be joyous 😊

These are 12 year old ones! I would suggest looking at GH Bass for similar ones xx

Hello lovely, my belt is not from Khaite I’m afraid! So I can’t help you, sorry x
love the video! Was wondering what size you bought your WNU shirts from :)
Size UK 8 xxx

It's an old one from W Concept xx
Great video. My sis is 5’3”. Would love to buy her that red jumper. What size did you get? S?
XS x

I've tried all black - pretty much my go-to 😅 I think it's the shade of grey. There's something 'off' about it that just doesn't suit me!

Yes it is from COS xx

I think you should dye the loafers if you like everything else about them but the colour. Otherwise sell them, as you'll never wear them!
I’m also leaning towards dyeing them 🙂🙂
Because grey shoes (unlike metallic ones) are hard to style 😂
Now I know!
