- Happy April, everyone! I'm very excited about this song since it's been in the works since I started Keep Me Alive. But now it's here and it's time to add the Wilbur/Revivebur song to the Babel Has Fallen Roster!
Fun fact: When they were still on the drawing board, "My Turn to Rise" was the name of the Quackity song and "Keep Me Alive" was going to be a Wilbur song.
Also, a big thank you once again to UnintendedMango for helping me write the lyrics on this one! You’re just amazing, my friend!

Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Sunrise
New dawn
The old me
is finally gone
And I don’t care
Where the lines have been drawn.
Here’s your horizon
And I’m the rising son!
[Verse 2]
Look around, my site of rebirth
Seems someone brought hell to earth
Craters here, was that from me?
When I turned on my symphony
Look at me now, eyes on the crown, don’t turn your nose at me
Wondering how, out of the ground, no more Eurydice,
I’ll take a bow, turn it around, it’s time to change the key
I’m back for now, forever free
[Chorus]
Father, what do you think of me now?
Another soldier with his heart torn out
The sun can try and burn me now
But it’s my turn to rise
It’s my turn to rise
Brother, why donchya (don’t you) take my hand
Take a look at the promise land
I think it’s time that we start again
Now it’s my turn to rise,
It’s my turn to rise!
Rise! (x6)
[Verse 3]
Looking on at this desecration
I see I was your inspiration
Towers rising, just like last time
Foundations built on your crime
Oh what sight, you’re trying to write your own symphony.
Know you can fight, but you deny that you’re afraid of me.
The blinding lights, hiding your fright. What do you offer me?
I do not need your charity.
[Chorus]
Father, what do you think of me now?
Another soldier with his heart burned out
The sun can try and burn me now
But it’s my turn to rise
It’s my turn to rise
Brother, why donchya (don’t you) take my hand
Take a look at the promise land
I think it’s time that we start again
Now it’s my turn to rise,
It’s my turn to rise!
[Bridge]
Icarus can fly the race,
But he’ll always be in second place
Again, and again, and again, and again
Theseus, your story’s old
You dare defy? Don’t be so bold.
Again, and again, and again, and again
Thanatos, with broken wings,
Don’t you dare abandon me!
Again, and again, and again, and again
This Orpheus has done the act,
They can never take her back
From me! (Again, and again, and again, and again)
[Chorus]
Father, what do you think of me now?
Another soldier with his heart burned out
The sun can try and burn me now
But it’s my turn to rise
It’s my turn to rise
Brother, why donchya (don’t you) take my hand
Take a look at the promise land
I think it’s time that we start again
Now it’s my turn to rise,
It’s my turn to rise!
Rise! (x6)

FR I AGREE
YES
Yuuuuuuuup
... Fr they're so underrated
Alight so the mythology references as far as I understand them go like this:
Icarus is Quackity someone who always gets involved in the race of politics and yet always seems to be one step behind Wilbur on everything he does whether that be joining Pogtopia or starting his own Nation.
Theseus is Tommy someone who's story is basically over at least as far as Wilbur is concerned and who always defies authority in any form whether that be Jschlatt, Dream or at times even Wilbur himself.
Thanatos is Phil someone who's wings were broken during November 16th when he tried to shield Wilbur from his own explosions breaking one of his wings in the process.
And then of course Wilbur is Orpheus someone who's life is much like a play with three acts act 1 started with the Drug idea and ended with L'Manburg's independence then we get to act 2 which started with the idea for the election and ended with him deciding to blow his own Nation sky high then we have act 3 the shortest of the acts that started and ended on November 16th and now Wilbur is simply around for the prologue he is going around making apologies for every person he wronged on the server.
How'd I do?
As a greek myth nerd i LOVE thissss, each of the stories work so well, and Thanatos being mentioned is such a delight
Also a Greek mythology nerd here, I love this album and all the references it has in it
This is amazing!! Also I just wanna say, I love all the mythology references - here, in Prometheus, in Keep Me Alive, and of course the DSMP itself. :]
Aw thanks :) Greek myth is one of my favorite things ever so it’s fun to be in a fandom that loves referencing it ☺️
@@KnightofEndale I don't know much about Greek mythology but my friend does. Time to recommend this channel to her 😉
Idk if anyone has mentioned this, but has anyone noticed that the intro is the same tune as the verses of You Dreamed A Dream? Honestly I love this detail considering how at first Wilbur considered Dream his savior. Honestly, it’s my favorite reference in this song.
Edit: wasn’t reading though comments. Someone did mention it, but my point still stands
And "Burning Pages" too.
Many of the songs here have nods to other songs about the same character/characters related to one another. Like how Heart of stone and In The End have similar tunes, since Sam had Dream locked up. (Until he broke free lol)
I played a game of skywars whilst listening to this song and singing. i won
Congrats
I love mythology! Not many songs can have me singing along half way through!
Additionally I just listened again and all the lyrics struck me... this song is so perfect.
The reference to the Dream song at the beginning! And the way the music comes in with an evil laugh! And the mythological references! And the ominous 'again and again,' and the general malice, and 'Theseus, your story is old'--harsh!
Also, the way the lyrics show up like additional silhouettes against the sun . . .
Excellent work, as usual! I'm going to be looping this for a bit. I look forward to seeing how this will return as references in future songs; you're so good at it!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, my friend! Thanks so much for helping me write the lyrics: it’s always wonderful getting to work on these projects with you! :)
BET IT’S GONNA BE SO COOL
Edit: OKAY BUT LIKE-
AAAAHHHHHH HOLYYYY THATS INCREDIBLE !! GREAT JOB :))
Thanks! 😄
( i dunno why I made an another comment but anyways )
THIS IS GONNA BE POG
that laugh at around 1:00 had me in chills, it was so wilbur
I like how when it says “here’s your horizon and I’m the rising son”
It doesn’t have sun it has son. I think it emphasizes how he wanted forgiveness by saying I’m the son that is rising. He’s saying he’s improving.
Yet another AMAZING Dream SMP song people
THIS SONG IS GOING TO BE AMAZINGGG
It's a crime to be so underrated!! You're under arrest! >:(
This is so good why is this so underrated
the child here
i can already tell this is going to be AMAZING
EDIT: THIS *[ROCKS]* WAS SO GOOD OMLLLL
THIS SONG ENCAPSULATES WILBUR’s PERSONALITY SO WELL MY HEART IS ELATED LISTENING TO IT AGAIN
The Greek mythology references - OH they're lovely and subtle! And I love the emotion you put behind the lyrics when referencing the other characters. And the tune itself, the instruments… it’s different from your other songs, but perfectly so! Really fits. Great job, friend:D :D
Thanks, friend!! It means a lot to hear from you specifically that this nailed Wilbur since I know how much you like his character (and Wilburs other characters) ☺️
I absolutely love this! The lyrics, the piano, the references it's just *chef's kiss*
Edit: the references to Quackity as Icarus, Tommy as Theseus, Phil (if I'm correct) as Thanatos, and Wilbur as Orpheus are just so perfect, I really do adore your use of mythology and how accurate it is in all your songs
Edit 2: I've listened to this so many times but each time the emotion at "Thanatos, with broken wings, don't you dare abandon me" breaks my hear
Pretty much me if I get a bounty from my brother in minecraft and I haven't had my coffee
O r p h e u s
it is your turn to rise... :)
Indeed!
Absolutely love this song! Beautifully captures the revolutionary taking a drastic turn and the people he loved being afraid / hating what he's become.
Just discovered this channel and I gotta say I’m happy to see someone still making dsmp songs :)
Remind me when this is famous
Eyyyy, another song, All of the songs you make sound amazing! Keep up the great work my dude!
Yay, extra Greek mythology references!
WOOHOO! I LOVE YOUR MUSIC!
edit: you deserve SO much more subscribers and popularity holy!
This is awesome! Wilbur needs to see this!
This will be the poggest song
Update after the premiere: THIS WAS POG!
That laugh sounds like me when someone tells a dad joke.
Anyway I am SO DANG EXCITED FOR THIS AHHHH!
Edit: knight you did not disappoint I love this omg this is so flipping epic-
this only has 2000 views??? so underrated!!
Actually it’s at over 3000 but YT isn’t keeping up as fast as my analytics page 😂
@@KnightofEndale BRO STILL

this is so AMAZING! i really love it, and maybe it is my favorite dsmp song (im the 1341th sub)
I finally got around to listening to this and oh my goodness!! That instrumental fits so well and it’s just gorgeous and I love the lyrics, especially the chorus! Its just all so awesome, you just keep getting better and better!!
I LOVE this song
This is my favorite DSMP song I've ever listened to, so happy I found your channel! Keep it up!
dammm this hits different
this is amazing :) you are very underrated my guy
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think father would be phil, brother would be tommy and the promise land would be L'Manberg, correct?
Precisely :)
(misses the premier by 12 minutes be like-)
EDIT: Just listened to the song, AMAZING JOB!!!
Oh that timing stinks! Glad you enjoyed it though! Also, thank you :)
@@KnightofEndale No problem! (As a person who rarely comments and gets noticed, your comment means a lot :) )
YOOOOOOOOOOO!! Can't wait to hear it!!!!
Icarus = Quackity
Theseus = Tommy
Thanatos = Philza
Orpheus = Wilbur
eurydice is L’manburg😰
Cool video i love you so much!
The mythos references gave me an idea:
"Icarus can fly the race, he'll always be in second place" is Phil, who no matter how hard he tries, was never faster than Wilbur hitting the doomsday button.
"Theseus, your stories told, you dare defy? Don't be so bold" is Tommy. For obvious reasons, plus the fact that his fate had been decided, and a taunt from Wilbur to Tommy showing his strength.
"Thanatos with broken wings, don't you dare abandon me" is Technoblade, a slightly hurt and trustless warrior who, for the time being, is on Wilbur's side.
"This Orpheus has done the act, they can never take her back from me" is, well, Wilbur himself. Having commited to destroying his city and his beloved, he ensured no one could ever seize it from him. He'd rather it be destroyed then in the hands of another.
That verse is literally a letter to his family, describing in vague terms his relationship with each.
Ooo those are really good interpretations! And you’re on the right track that’s it’s Wilbur talking to other DSMP characters. But you only got 2/4 (Theseus and Orpheus). If you check the other songs in the Babel Has Fallen playlist, you might find clues as to who Wilbur is talking about when he mentions Icarus and Thanatos :)
Love it ❤
Wow! It's really cool
You have such a unique voice and I love the guitar in the background sm it sounds almost mediavel :D
Thank you!! ☺️
I just discovered this! I love it! I wish it was on Spotify so I can listen to it more!
It’ll release on Spotify with the rest of the album ☺️
WOOOOOO THE SUNRISE MOTIF CONTINUES!! I think we got KoE bingo on this one, with sunrise, Icarus, Theseus, biblical, and symphony references!! And bonus, Phil as Thanatos, such a cool addition
But starting with the you dreamed a dream reference,,,, when I tell you I screamed,,, it fits so perfectly, very satisfying. Wilbur’s new life because dream revived him, it’s so cool to see that reflected here!! Also the laugh 😩 why does it sound like such a c!wilbur thing to do
The pun of Wilber as the “son” on the horizon? Brilliant, scratched an itch in my brain I didn’t know I had
Can we talk about how Wilbur as Orpheus is so heccin perfect??? Man went to the underworld out of twisted devotion to lmanberg, his one love throughout the dsmp lore, and he came back without finding a way to save it
AAAAAAAA the lore behind the songs! It’s so cool that the titles for Wilbur’s and quackity’s songs were switched during the process! Such an interesting little tidbit
The YDAD references, both musical and lyrical, were so much fun to add and I’m so glad you caught it! And Wilbur as Orpheus just made make sense than any other mythological figure, especially for the BHF version of the canon. It’s interesting you use the word twisted when talking about Wilbur’s version of the myth. Very interesting 👀
Also, KoE bingo: that sounds like a good thing to keep in mind going forward 😉
I’m subbed now
I MISSED THE PREMIER!!!! I am so upset. The beginning gave me massive Prometheus vibes. I don't know if that was on purpose or what ever. As always it was amazing. The art, the lyrics, the music, the whole enchilada. AND OMG THE LAUGH!! It wasn't like a cackle or anything. It was just a laugh. But it fit soooooooooo well. Then entire was AMAZINg. Also...
69th like. lol
Thank you so much! The laugh is actually how I laugh when I’m being very competitive so idk what that says about me 😅 And Idk about the Prometheus vibes but the first part is to the tune of You Dreamed a Dream, so maybe that’s it? 🤷♀️
Wow, your songs are always amazing, I love all the allusions and connections to your previous songs!
YOOO THAT IS SO GOOD WOW
Aaaaaa this is amazing!
Another amazing song, and yet more proof that I'm lucky to have stumbled across your wonderfull music
My left ear is currently being incredibly annoying due to some things rn so I can't appreciate this at all but I'm confident that it's prolly good I think maybe? It sounds good even with one ear practically broken so I'll say that this is good.
100,000th view
Nice!
Amazing
hell yeahhhh
sorry if this is too much to ask but could you please post an instrumental of My Turn to Rise and Prometheus? only if you want to ofc :) i want to do a cover but i understand if you don’t want me to
YOOOO this goes so hard!! How do you feel about covers of your songs? 👀 I'd love to try my hand at this song (if that's okay of course!)
That sounds so cool! So long as you give proper credit, I’m totally fine with covers 😄
@@KnightofEndale Of course! :D
wilby scoot
When I hear this song, I think of Dabi from My Hero Academia…
I have a rq question why does the spotify one sound diffrent from this one
All the songs in the album are remastered versions of the originals.
Alright, I can't figure it out. I don't know who everyone is in the bridge, among Icarus, Theseus, Thanatos, and Orpheus.
Thanatos and Orpheus are beyond question. Phil and Wilbur. That barely even needs mentioning. But Icarus and Theseus both sound like Tommy, and I don't know who the fourth member of that group would be. Theseus pretty much has to be Tommy, with how much history that name has - it's been used for him in canon too famously for that to be anyone else.
But who else fits as Icarus in this framework? And Icarus is used to talk about Tommy in Prometheus, as well. So... I'm not sure. What do other people think? Is it somehow being used for Techno? Is it Tubbo, another L'manburg veteran who was there when Wilbur was revived? Someone else?
You’ve got Thanatos, Orpheus, and Theseus correct, so for the 4th I’ll give you a clarifying hint: in Prometheus (and the rest of my songs) Icarus is never used as a name for Tommy. I’d recommend listening to Keep Me Alive if you’re still looking for answers 😉
@@KnightofEndale Everything suddenly makes much more sense. Thank you!
Gods I need to catch up on lore.
I feel like icarus has got to be quackity.
In sam's song he said icarus was never his son and was just an ally. Which would make sense since quackity is pretty close to sam
In this song wilbur talks quite a lot about las nevadas which makes a correlation.
And in quackity's own song he talks about his wings being wax
That's what they were saying, yeah. I haven't listened to all of them yet, and I'm much looking forward to seeing it all. :)
AMAZING I LOVE WILBUR BTW QHEN R U DOING A BADBOYHALO SONG OR PUFFY SONG?
Thanks! I don’t currently have plans for a Puffy song, but I’ve thought about possibly doing one for BBH sometime after this first album is completed
@@KnightofEndale WOW THANKS :D
@@KnightofEndale oh BTW I'm doing a video where I show of lego figures of dream smp characters can I put some of your songs jn the backgrounds plz
1:00 wrong sight, meant to be site.
Who does the father represent in this song? I know the brother is Tommyinnit, it can’t be Philza cause he’s Thanatos, so who could it be? Technoblade?
Phil is both Thanatos and his Father
@@KnightofEndale Ah, that makes sense
Tommy is Theseus too
Well Thanatos is the death god of roman not greek history, also he has no wings. Great song, you even used some actually good greek myth symbolism (rare to see ngl), sadly, you overused it ar the ending part (The again and again and again bridge). Mythology wise rather good, strange way to start a song, don't hate it tho, and obviously did the great uniqueness of the song a great job in making me replay this *a lot*.
I’m glad you liked the song! I love seeing people get the Greek myth references! As a Classical Studies major with a focus in Greek myth, it’s fun to see if people catch any of my more obscure references and anytime I purposefully twist the myths. But if you listen to the song in the context of the album, then those odd things make much more sense (they’re references to other elements of DSMP and the other BHF songs). Also, Thanatos, who is in fact a Greek god, has wings in some painted interpretations, but it’s not meant to be a one for one reference since it’s a stand in for Philza, who does have wings.
