    Information:
Sorry it was just a last minute report, so I’ll put the info here:
Vex iq pitching in mechanism didn’t work very well due to the “choo-choo” mechanism being limited to a certain distance because of it operating on a set of 1x beams (they act like pistons). The new mech used in the Hero bot for this year’s game gave me some inspiration to completely revamp the catapult design, as it is a lot more flexible in terms of shooting. One thing that is different, though, is the use of a gravity gear on the hero bot. I believe with pneumatics, it is a lot more efficient, and allows you to power multiple things at once and leaves 2 extra motors for other purposes. I tried to keep the ratchet as low profile as possible to keep the center of weight level and possible obstructions to a minimum.
    Specs of robot (for now):
    Drivetrain: 2 motor 2:1 ratio
Intake (I built the intake already): 2 motor, 2:1 ratio (3:1 if possible, Pitching In intake was 3:2)
Catapult mech: 2 motor PTO w/ intake, 1:2 ratio
Future additions: pneumatic scissor lift for catching balls, and an actual catapult arm.

Sorry for the excessive hand gestures, I’m too lazy to get the parts two feet from me

Hm, I saw this herobot before, its catapult looked very slow.

Just a question, is your chassis 1:1 gear ratio?

It is currently 3:1 speed, optimized for open-field crossings and reaching the balls quicker. The downside is it turns slower, and needs to accelerate to full speed. Although, it only takes a few milliseconds to do so.
