I really enjoy your videos! I will vouch for the E-6000, just fixed a small casting flaw on the transfer case of my daughters truck that was leaking. Cleaned it off and it 'self-leveled' made it down inside the hole and sealed it up. It is a very strong adhesive also.
I just bought a used then an 986 at Huntsville hamfest, Hook it up tried it turn the dials it doesn't seem like anything happens to the meter the dials just stay in the same location all the time, looks very pretty inside looks like brand new
Great stuff. I recommend disconnecting the meter leads, twisting them fairly tightly and then re-installing. This will help resist stray RF pickup that makes the meter wander or react unreliably during tuneup.
Also, I just ordered some of that 6000 glue, going to give that a shot with things around here. Have not had the best luck with glues so will give this a try, thanks for the tip.
Kind regards, Please, in the MFJ-986 Tuner, can you tell me in the 4 trimers of the card that is below the meter, which is the high power adjustment, which daja, which is SWR and which is Reflected? I will be grateful. A hug.
Greetings, and congratulations, excellent video, I have that same 3KW tuner antenna, and I would like to know how to adjust the power trimers, they are the 4 that are on the card that is under the clock, or if you can tell me which one is of Low power and which one of Hight and better if I design it on a piece of paper and how I should adjust it, since someone moved those trimmers and now it does not mark the correct parameters on the Clock. Thanks and a hug
I have a question and I can't find an older schematic. It seems like I have an older 986 like yours. I bought this one on eBay and the meter had come apart and was showing reflected power 10 no matter the adjustment. I replaced with a new one and I cannot zero out the reflected power. Any suggestions??
I couldn't find their ph #. No matter. Ant sel switch gave out completely, after only having it for a month, so don't really need to talk to anybody, Frustrating cz I spent $450 to buy it! Tuned up gr8 until this! I'll be shipping it out soon! And the 868B wattmeter I ordered had a screw loose which affected connectivity. I tightened it myself & has since worked well. After a cple yrs, when it's out of warr, would u give mine a once-over like u're doing here?
If you want some good alcohol try Everclear just don't drink it, it is over 96% pure and is drinkable if you are hard up for vino. I found out the hard way that 91% rubbing alcohol will not work very good for epoxy thinner, way too much water content.

Thanks Bob, that was very interesting and informative, I love your videos!
Nice video Bob. Sometimes I think Fedex, UPS, and USPS check all their packages in on surplus NASA shaker tables.
The military product for sealing that hardware is called Glyptol.
GC Electronics has it in a small bottle with brush for around $10.
Hi again Bob, I have been having good luck with the E-6000 glue also.

Hi Bob. Tnx fer all the info.
Thanks om. Wish you’d shown the drive belt install. It looks difficult

My roller inductor is different. The roller is INSIDE the inductor.
