@@marvinnie I don't mind a fanchant at the beginning but it's a bit much when it goes on all through the song. It's become customary, but someone needs to take a lead and change the custom. Play an intro to accompany the fanchant when the performers come onto the stage so they can hear the chant and see the fans before they start, then have the song without too much noise from the audience, followed by clapping and cheering when it finishes.
The viewing figures for music can't be all that low if the TV companies keep making so many of them, but the chance of gaining new fans will depend on how many people only watch the bits they already want to see, like I'm doing here.
