    I got thrown off by the negative Sudan stain (aka there's no fat in stool) because I thought anything that completely blocks off bile duct would cause a positive stain. The key here is that choledocolithiasis is intermittent and there's not a complete blockage. But as Dr. Mike already pointed out, the main thing is that choledocolithiasis has increased amylase whereas pancreatic head cancer doesn't.

      Not classically associated. Gallstone pancreatitis is acute blockage. Steatorrhea in chronic pancreatitis is from loss of enzyme production, not blockage process.

    Great video, wondering why choledocho at the ampulla doesn’t cause steatorrhea though?
