When you think about it Jay Parks career it's insane. After 2pm he went home and worked at a tire shop. Now look where he is. I cant think of an idol that went from such heights, to lows, then back to highs again.
he's still in a niche kpop market. i wouldn't say he is big as like BTS. definitely no where near their influence/popularity. i think Jay Park made a smart move in paving his own way in the end. 2pm hasn't had a hit since "put your hands up" which was 10 years ago? whereas Jay Park has had a few notable hits up until not too long ago....having to leave 2pm so early in his career turned out to be a blessing in the end.

Sonny Ann Flores it’s more like dissolving but they are made a joint agency NPIO Entertainment, But all the remaining JYP actors are going to be free agents and can be signed with a different company after their contract ends. Only 2PM, GOT7, and any idol actors will stay with JYPE since they are already in idol groups. But until the last non idol JYPE actor leaves NPIO will become defunct and will be the end of JYP actors era.
They were so successful and loved but everyone but not as Bigbang and YES JYP the one to blame he doesn’t promote them outside of ASIA did it only once and never did it again
2PM popularity honestly did go down but i think that happens with time to any kpop group. There will always be new faces to replace old ones. But i think 2pm has definitely solidified a place in kpop royalty and legends. They are also still fairly popular especially in Japan.

Now Junho is the first kpop idol to win the best actor in a drama for Baeksang. He also won the popularity award. Thanks to him I discovered 2PM though I've known them for awhile I never listened to their songs. But upon listening to Put Your Heads Up, I can't help but thinking I know this song. Meaning it must be have been really popular before for I heard it somewhere before. I love their comeback song Make It. The mv was awesome. I love a lot of their older songs, too. I love how they own their "imperfections" like Taec's teeth, etc. They are comfortable in their skins. I love how they love each other. I'm waiting for their comeback in 2022. If not hopefully, not later than 2023.

yeahh 2PM's popularity declined in Korea but it'd be awesome if you include their success in Japan. They're one of the best selling kpop artists there. All members had solo albums/concerts. Junho sells out arena all by himself every year. They even won a few awards. So...they are actually pretty successful and still making A LOT of money although kpop fans seem to forget about them. As for Jay, it'd be nice to include his success as a CEO of not 1 but 2 labels and being signed to RocNation. At the end of the day, Jay Park and 2PM are all successful on their own. Crayon Pop literally fell apart because they wanted to pursue their own careers. 1 member got married, another 1 wanted to pursue full acting career so left the group early. The twins are releasing a new song soon, Way is a vlogger now and Choa as a actress.
Exactly. I LOL seeing once claim the "award" about the growth of JYPE since it's given around TWICE famousness, 2016 if I still can recall. Meanwhile, the award is stated the year of growth and TWICE either still not exist or still newbie, if still can recall, again. And those years exactly when 2PM is the breadwinner one.
I hope that newer kpop fans will still show 2PM some love when they return. They're still a really amazing, talented, and entertaining group. (Their career in Japan is no joke, and is definitely what saved JYPE from ruin for years.)

Its actually makes them strong. 2pm means a lot to them. Even Jype mistreatment, lack of promoting and so on to 2pm, it make them actually know how to survive without reliable to jype. 2pm become independent boy group who can survive in kpop industry. They must have a reason why they was still renewed their contract to jype.

It’s so scary how fast everything moves in the KPOP, so many new k-pop fans and most of them have never heard about seniors boy bands... so sad... 😞 My love to K-POP started from 2pm, I was amazed by their relationship inside group and I think, I was amazed by K-POP in general at that time. It was something different and genuine compare to all another music industry... I really hope that most of the boys (not only from 2pm) can continue their career or find themselves in something else, don’t want to find them lost in oblivion...
Im an ahgase but i cant help to have huge respect for 2pm and their fandom. For them to last this long together despite ppl starting to forget them. And if you stan any jyp artists i think you cant help but to realize how jype does not always help their artists’ popularity and peak to last long. Like they do promote but only in the first few years and then they start to neglect the artists when they couldve helped their artists to reach higher peaks no one woulve ever imagined. Not to mention about how 2pm members themselves and Hottests are the ones trying hard to protect 2pm members from sasaengs and haters. Istg jype pls protect ur boy groups too. Just bcs their problems are not as big as other companies’ problems and are not handled legally or in courts, does not mean they are okay being harrased either at their private places on online.
2PM always had a strong base in Asia in general but not strong as before in Korea since it’s understandable. Since they never had support from JYP when it came to promotions. But if you go to Japan, Thailand and China they are extremely popular,they don’t really need Korea to be honest.
It's amazing how they're sky high crazy fame only lasted for like 3 years, and during those years their fame was unfazed, everybody fainted during their live performances honestly lol, even after it went down, people still recognize them and there are hardly any people who don't know them. They named themselves as legends and it didn't even take 5 years. They went on full hiatus, came back in 2015, and then hiatus for 6 years again, came back again. Their popularity is actually permanent man.
Watching this made me feel old, lol. I miss 2PM. They were my second favorite group next after BIGBANG. I'm happy for Jay Park. He's very successful with his own company, but Nathan you have to cover one of the biggest KPOP controversies which was the split up with TVXQ. I still remember that situation.

But I'm so glad that this is just an honest video, explaining their success, their hardships, uniqueness, and the reality behind their present-day popularity... It was so nice to see that there's an informative video for non-hottests, including all aspects of their journey. Just a side-note to those not familiar with 2PM. They were literally one of the biggest (if not the biggest) kpop groups to be massively successful in Japan. They paved a way for JPop. JYPE promoted them solely as a profit-machine overseas (up until 2017, just before their official hiatus, they were still the most profitable group in JYPE, despite the lack of promotions and popularity), and that (and Khun's accident from 2012) also contributed to their declining popularity in Korea.

My first KPOP group was 2PM, in 2008, I love ❤️ those guys so much, and I support them, I went to see their concerts, last concert GO CRAZY, I traveled to Korea, one month later they came to USA ( New Jersey) and I went to see them again in the first row...... I can’t wait for their comeback.
hmm.. kind of interesting you didn't talk about the reason for their big hiatus, Nickhun's drunk driving scandal. It was pretty major and took a huge hit to their popularity in Korea since they refused to promote with Khun until his "reflection" time was over. Overall a great video, as a hottest I thank you for doing this, since international fans seem to frequently forget about 2PM and their insane impact.
Yeah, technically I became a kpop fan through 3rd generation and I love what 3rd gen has done for the industry, but sometimes it feels like there isnt enough respect for the crazy impact second gen had. They might think second gen is pretty baseless and overhyped, but its also because of second gen that most of their "oppars" and "noonars" wanted to become idols in the first place. 2PM was literally one of the biggest groups/boy bands ever in kpop. You don't just underestimate them.
Many people avoid talking about Nichkhun's accident, but honestly it's important to mention it. Although it was a big mistake, Khun apoligized and it helped them grow as individuals and as a group. They lost some popularity but I believe it's justified. I'm just super glad they didn't disband or anything and continued to work together after settling things down.

Their music will always have a place in my heart but I wonder how they will for into the current kpop-sphere. It seems like it’s been hard for 2nd gen groups to come back 😕. Just a few things I want to point out... 1- Kim Minjun (he changed his name from Junsu to Minjun after his father passed away in 2012) 2- They took a break in 2012 because of Nichkhun’s DUI accident and Minjun’s father passing away 3- Jun.K (Kim Minjun) also wrote and produced Go Crazy (so My House was the second single he wrote for 2PM) he wrote other tracks for 2PM in both their Japanese and Korean albums 4- Their popularity didn’t drop after “Promise (I’ll Be)”. They are in a hiatus while each member finishes his mandatory military services (excluding Nichkhun) 5- Each member has solo activities (Jun.K, Junho, Wooyoung releasing solo albums or mini albums, and going on tours in Japan/Korea) and (Taecyeon, Channing, Nichkhun, Junho acting in dramas and movies) 😉😉

Honestly love these guys and they are so nice. Went to a 2PM concert in Chicago ended up sitting in drag due to people rushing up to the stage and every member gave me a high five. They're great performs. Jay Park is hilarious and AOMG was the most hyped concert I've ever been too. I think Jay Park leaving was for the best as his music is definitely different from 2pm and kpop.

yeahh 2PM's popularity declined in Korea but it'd be awesome if you include their success in Japan. They're one of the best selling kpop artists there. All members had solo albums/concerts. Junho sells out arena all by himself every year. They even won a few awards. So...they are actually pretty successful and still making A LOT of money although kpop fans seem to forget about them. As for Jay, it'd be nice to include his success as a CEO of not 1 but 2 labels and being signed to RocNation. At the end of the day, Jay Park and 2PM are all successful on their own. They even supported every new jyp band career even twice. (Twice is super famous but doesn't make a lot of money)

They're not in contact anymore but how Taecyeon and other members describe him is really amazing. Like since they cannot say his name they describe him as "Hardworking handsome hip-hop boy". It's sad but I feel like they don't feel mad him at all. Just like Jay Park said, he withdraw his position as their leader because HE HAD TO. 2pm has been through a lot of things. Bitter and sweet moments. Almost 13 years they have been under jype there are definitely learned a lot of things. Its actually makes them strong. 2pm means a lot to them. Even Jype mistreatment, lack of promoting and so on to 2pm, it make them actually know how to survive without reliable to jype. 2pm become independent boy group who can survive in kpop industry. They must have a reason why they was still renewed their contract to jype.
I think they want to keep group. If they went to different agencies, getting together, and, moreover, touring abroad, is almost impossible.

It’s so scary how fast everything moves in the KPOP, so many new k-pop fans and most of them have never heard about seniors boy bands... so sad... 😞 My love to K-POP started from 2pm, I was amazed by their relationship inside group and I think, I was amazed by K-POP in general at that time. It was something different and genuine compare to all another music industry... I really hope that most of the boys (not only from 2pm) can continue their career or find themselves in something else, don’t want to find them lost in oblivion...

Im an ahgase but i cant help to have huge respect for 2pm and their fandom. For them to last this long together despite ppl starting to forget them. And if you stan any jyp artists i think you cant help but to realize how jype does not always help their artists’ popularity and peak to last long. Like they do promote but only in the first few years and then they start to neglect the artists when they couldve helped their artists to reach higher peaks no one woulve ever imagined. Not to mention about how 2pm members themselves and Hottests are the ones trying hard to protect 2pm members from sasaengs and haters. Istg jype pls protect ur boy groups too. Just bcs their problems are not as big as other companies’ problems and are not handled legally or in courts, does not mean they are okay being harrased either at their private places on online.

It's amazing how they're sky high crazy fame only lasted for like 3 years, and during those years their fame was unfazed, everybody fainted during their live performances honestly lol, even after it went down, people still recognize them and there are hardly any people who don't know them. They named themselves as legends and it didn't even take 5 years. They went on full hiatus, came back in 2015, and then hiatus for 6 years again, came back again. Their popularity is actually permanent man.

Watching this made me feel old, lol. I miss 2PM. They were my second favorite group next after BIGBANG. I'm happy for Jay Park. He's very successful with his own company, but Nathan you have to cover one of the biggest KPOP controversies which was the split up with TVXQ. I still remember that situation.

Before their 10th anniversary , it was announced that 2pm in part of directors in JYP and in recent interview of DAY6 where NICKHUN is the mc. They keep telling that they need to obey all Nickhun asking because he is a director in the company. So, when Nickhun ask YOUNG K to dance to DALLA DALLA. He really did dance 😂.

Idky, but from the thumbnail and from the title, I thought this video was gonna be focusing on how 2PM lost popularity and regarding "issues" they've had. But I'm so glad that this is just an honest video, explaining their success, their hardships, uniqueness, and the reality behind their present-day popularity... It was so nice to see that there's an informative video for non-hottests, including all aspects of their journey.
Just a side-note to those not familiar with 2PM. They were literally one of the biggest (if not the biggest) kpop groups to be massively successful in Japan. They paved a way for JPop. JYPE promoted them solely as a profit-machine overseas (up until 2017, just before their official hiatus, they were still the most profitable group in JYPE, despite the lack of promotions and popularity), and that (and Khun's accident from 2012) also contributed to their declining popularity in Korea.

So 2PM had their albums displayed on a table but said they couldn’t have their first two EPs displayed because of things that happened. My first KPOP group was 2PM, in 2008, I love ❤️ those guys so much, and I support them, I went to see their concerts, last concert GO CRAZY, I traveled to Korea, one month later they came to USA ( New Jersey) and I went to see them again in the first row...... I can’t wait for their comeback.
hmm.. kind of interesting you didn't talk about the reason for their big hiatus, Nickhun's drunk driving scandal. It was pretty major and took a huge hit to their popularity in Korea since they refused to promote with Khun until his "reflection" time was over. Overall a great video, as a hottest I thank you for doing this, since international fans seem to frequently forget about 2PM and their insane impact.
Yeah, technically I became a kpop fan through 3rd generation and I love what 3rd gen has done for the industry, but sometimes it feels like there isnt enough respect for the crazy impact second gen had. They might think second gen is pretty baseless and overhyped, but its also because of second gen that most of their "oppars" and "noonars" wanted to become idols in the first place. 2PM was literally one of the biggest groups/boy bands ever in kpop. You don't just underestimate them.
Many people avoid talking about Nichkhun's accident, but honestly it's important to mention it. Although it was a big mistake, Khun apoligized and it helped them grow as individuals and as a group. They lost some popularity but I believe it's justified. I'm just super glad they didn't disband or anything and continued to work together after settling things down.
Cause Khun was big back then. 😫

Just a few things I want to point out...
1- Kim Minjun (he changed his name from Junsu to Minjun after his father passed away in 2012)
2- They took a break in 2012 because of Nichkhun’s DUI accident and Minjun’s father passing away
3- Jun.K (Kim Minjun) also wrote and produced Go Crazy (so My House was the second single he wrote for 2PM) he wrote other tracks for 2PM in both their Japanese and Korean albums
4- Their popularity didn’t drop after “Promise (I’ll Be)”. They are in a hiatus while each member finishes his mandatory military services (excluding Nichkhun)
5- Each member has solo activities (Jun.K, Junho, Wooyoung releasing solo albums or mini albums, and going on tours in Japan/Korea) and (Taecyeon, Channing, Nichkhun, Junho acting in dramas and movies)

Honestly love these guys and they are so nice. Went to a 2PM concert in Chicago ended up sitting in drag due to people rushing up to the stage and every member gave me a high five. They're great performs. Jay Park is hilarious and AOMG was the most hyped concert I've ever been too. I think Jay Park leaving was for the best as his music is definitely different from 2pm and kpop.
