    it does not copy the formatting - is there a way to also copy the looks and formatting of the original sheet?

      Copy everything from the tab, paste it (with looks & formatng), clear all the cells, then put the function on the A1 cell

    I want to share a single sheet,
    With a single editable cell (users can select from the drop down only )

    Thank you sir for this, it is indeed amazing, however, I would link to know if it is possible to share only a single sheet without changing the formatting of the original sheet

    This works BUT, I can't add anything. If I add something everything disappears b/c it's not referenced correctly. How can someone share one tab and both people be able to work on it and change it?

    This would be great if both master and copy could be updated. I need my employees to be able to add information as they go but need each employee to be private. This only works with me sharing info with them not in reverse.

    Question: When it imported into the new sheet, it only imported the cell data but none of the formula's, colors, etc. How do I make sure it copies the exact sheet?

      You can't edit the shared sheet's imported data.

      The section at 2:50 and the section at 3:19 in the video show allowing access to the sheets. I'm not sure which one will solve your issue.

    How do I keep the sheets formatted like the original one when it is shared?

    • @ModernSchoolBus
      @ModernSchoolBus  2 года назад

      If you are losing the formatting when you import the only way to format like the original may be to use the paint format tool to manually copy the formatting from the original to the new one.

    Hey, when you import it into a new sheet to share, but then you update the original, will it update the new sheet? thanks :)

    • @ModernSchoolBus
      @ModernSchoolBus  3 года назад +3

      Yes, it will update in the new sheet if you make any changes to the original one.

      @mpom711 2 года назад

      What about in reverse? If the second sheet is updated, will the master be updated as well?

    • @ModernSchoolBus
      @ModernSchoolBus  2 года назад +1

      @@mpom711 No. The second sheet is imported from the first. So changing the second sheet will never update the first.

      @@ModernSchoolBus When I use Importrage it shows I don't have access to the sheet instead of allowing access, where I am the owner for both files. how to provide that access

    • @ModernSchoolBus
      @ModernSchoolBus  2 года назад

      @@jithinalunkal If you are the owner of both sheets you should be able to allow access just like in the video at 2:50. You will have to make sure you are the owner of both sheets in the same gmail account. I would double-check your spreadsheet URLs if this isn't working because it should work just like in the video

    Is there two way editing on both the new sheet and the old sheet? I attempted to edit the new sheet, but it gave me an error?

    • @ModernSchoolBus
      @ModernSchoolBus  2 года назад

      The new sheet is just imported so you would have to edit the original to change the new sheet. If you really want to edit them separately, you would just need to copy the new sheet and paste as value to remove the formulas so that they are no longer linked
