Late last year, I saw a youtube video that made me think back to the Japanese bands I used to listen to like, 15 or more years ago. I wondered what they'd been up to. I was pretty surprised when I'd heard that Atsushi had died, and so suddenly. But it was stunning, and wonderful, to learn that they'd been continuously recording and preforming new music that whole time. I spent a few weeks obsessively going through their albums. I cannot imagine what it would be like to spend over 35 years (their entire adult lives) in such a solid and creative band and have one of your brothers ripped away. A unique talent like theirs usually doesn't get the success they had and get to maintain their creative freedom.
I'm glad your were able to see them in concert. The first video of yours I saw was when your were following the Izura tour, and when I realized when it was taken and how big a fan you were my heart dropped out of my chest. I hope you'll be able to enjoy their music and Atsushi's singing in the future.

My mom is in the hospital right now, she has third-degree burns on her body. She listens to Buck-Tick everyday. Acchan's voice helps her relax and me too.

Thank you for such a beautiful and sincere tribute. I’ve had so many thoughts over the past few months from absolute sorrow to joy. I feel connected to you in the fear of death, and it has been something I’ve carried with me for my whole life. Through Aachan’s voice and lyrics and his life I’ve felt comforted. Even if someone you love passes on, you were able to love and be grateful for them, and they will have been grateful for the time with you. As we have been endlessly grateful to Atsushi in this lifetime, he has been grateful for us-it’s a beautiful thing that transcends life and death. Contrary to Kodou’s lyrics, his heartbeat was never ephemeral.
I will continue to miss and love Aachan with my entire heart, and I will do my best to spread the love he inspired.
    Buck-Tick forever ❤️

Thank you so much for your lovely comment
      So well said …!!!
Love and admiration is a circle and we have to continue it.
I am so glad there are people who love him so much in this world
I’m trying my best to see the light in this but it is so difficult to not be miserable every time I remember
But because of the kind of person he was It’s equally comforting and depressing to hear his thoughts about death and grief especially now
Ahh 😭 they will go on forever and ever for sure !!!!!!!!!!

This is a really beautiful tribute; it truely does come from the heart. When I heard the news I immediately thought of you.
I’ve always knew you were a devoted fan but I had no idea your journey with Buck-Tick extended this far.
“Dress” was the first Buck-Tick song I heard and it’s still one of my favourite songs.

really lovely, heartfelt tribute of my favourite vocalist of all time. I work in a warehouse and was informed of Aachan's passing very soon after it was announced during my break during a night shift. The next few hours were some of the hardest of my life.
I felt like part of me had died. No death of a musician has made me feel like this. The hardest part was living the next few days surrounded by people who aren't remotely affected by his death - a death so personal to me that people would probably dismiss as silly ( "like heck, some random musician from Japan.. you cant even understand what he's saying" ugggh ).
Thanks to the internet I have been able to connect with fellow UK fans who can relate to how his death affected me. His beauty and art is something that I feel has kept my heart beating at really low points in my life. Thanks to B-T I have discovered other amazing bands like Kuroyume, L'arc, Malice Mizer, Dead End, Raphael.. but B-T have forever been the band I cannot live without.
Thank you for making this video. I find comfort in a lot of what you're saying because I feel listened to in some sense.
Rest in peace Atsushi Sakurai 🕊x

ミウ, COSMOS, ドレス, LOVE ME, SNOW WHITE.. and many more songs have all given my life meaning. I know my life would be measurably worse if my teenage self never discovered this amazing band :)

I’m soo glad you made such a profound connection with him.. thank you so much for telling me.. that’s wonderful
Up until the last few years for me it was always something I didn’t feel like I shared with anyone, but I’m grateful that I got to meet so many Buck-Tick fans in the end …
I honestly think Aachan is one of a kind
And why so many fans feel the same way as we do makes perfect sense
Because it was so easy to form such an emotional bond with him no matter where you were in the world.
I hope everyone have you space to feel sad 😣 I feel like I’m lucky I’m surrounded by people who understand how I felt but I know not everyone else is
It’s complicated to explain to people
I’m so happy B-T got u into so many amazing bands too !! That’s so cool😭 LÄ-PPISCH we’re introduced to me through B-T’s cover of their song and since then they’ve become one of my favourite bands ever !!
And I feel the same !! I want to feel better so I can listen to them as often as I was, without crying but I know I have to be patient with myself
And beautiful songs yes !!! I hope they stay with you when you need them …
Thank you so much again and please take care 😭😭🙏

Your tribute was beautiful. I have started listening to the band recently. I think they are overall amazing musicians. I can relate with Sakurai-san's personality and style. I have so much music and concert DVD's to see. I am taking my time to absorb this wonderful music and I don't understand Japanese that well. Their music is inspiring me to learn. He was such a stunning person inside and out. I hope to see more Buck Tick videos from you in the future. What is your Instagram? Much 💕 from Los Angeles, California Happy New Year.
