I love The red cathedral by these designers so I’ve been looking forward to this game coming out for a while. It doesn’t look like I’m going to be disappointed.
This looks perfect for us EXCEPT for that we play almost always at 2-player and it seems to eliminate nifty parts of the game for that variant. So sad if they couldn’t figure out a compelling 2-player variant and will be curious on your thoughts there. So many people aren’t guys just out of college with time or really even interest in having a gaming group.
It’s really good with 2 players as well! I like it slightly better with more, but not a lot more! And the gameplay is so short, so perfect for an evening game where you want crunch, but don’t have an hour plus to play something!
I also mainly play at two so it is extremely important for me that it plays well at that count. The only difference I see is that you can't stack a dice on top of the others (3+ it can be done once in the castle). Is there anything else?

I really like dice games (like Red Cathedral, Creature Comforts, and even Cubitos haha) and the Japanese theming and art (like Iki), so hoped this could be great for us. But the dice stacking seemed like a key interesting element to the game and the dice placement equation.
Yes, and we will continue to do that, as we had missed the rule before the playthrough 😅 The game will end up being a bit tighter because of it! We’re playing hard mode! 😂
