"Six angry people in a house" pretty much sums it up

This is interesting to see because I personally like Libby way more than I like Parisa or Calum? I genuinely liked Libby actually😭

Very fair review. The beginning section actually made me appreciate some of the things I'd forgotten in the midst of being annoyed at the worldbuilding, plot, and Libby.

Thanks for a thorough review. I was unsure about reading this, and your review confirms my fears about the book. I'll be skipping this one.
But, one can never have enough lemon meringue pie.

Libby is like that because she is so insecure. I feel like that was pretty well explained.

Agree, but it seems there was zero basis FOR her insecurity, and knowing the root cause of a behaviour doesn't excuse or justify it. Hopefully she improves in book 2!

@@MaxReads I am insecure without any real reason.....I just assumed it's like that for most people. Some type of anxiety disorder maybe. In my experience insecurities aren't really rational. I am glad that you don't relate :D

nah libby is like that because she is a copy of Alice in Lev Grossmans The magicians. the same type of overpowered magic, the same bitterness toward others, the same competativeness, the same dead sibling. But Grossmans characters were better, honestly. aaaaaaaaaand ezra is Penny. (with the same traveler magic.) Parisa is Margo/Janet (more a copy of personality not magic. But Janet/margo is more convicing in her hot and sexy bitchyness, ) etc. etc.

I read this not long ago, and I honestly didn't love it. Sometimes I think I should have DNFed it, but then some days I am like "maybe I will read the next book".

This was the most garbage book I've read in the past five years, gave up about halfway through.
