    Love ENFJ's, they are amazing, charismatic people. I wish I was an ENFJ-- they are so good with people, bringing them together, and they make everyone feel like they're completely normal despite how strange they are. They include everyone and are accepting of how people feel. Plus they're good at mingling with everyone and aren't cliquey. ENFJs aren't afraid to be caring, and are focused on people.

      i'm a ENFJ too. Thanks for your comment. I never realise how much awesome i am, till now 😂😂
      As myself, i try to bring people together because i don't want them to be alone in this world. Maybe it's because i've been there once and it's awful. I don't want anybody through it.
      Somehow, when i get together with everyone i feel happy. But this isn't enough for me. I need my private time with the one i love and for a ENFJ like me, to find my soulmate is hard.
      I haven't met anyone who share the same belief with me and it's hurt when you accept it as a fact that you can't change. When i try to get to other people they said i was so outstanding and different from them. idk if i should take that as a compliment.
      Anyway. thank you very much. Your comment made my day ❤❤

      No as Fe-Se is very specific & discerning/depth of social nuance whereas the Fe-Ne of the ESFJ sacrifices breadth for depth of social connection. I'm an ENFJ but I'm definitely a social introvert

      ...actually i think your right..i always felt that enfps and infjs had a similarity, (i think i more felt like this because i love infjs so much and so badly want to be like one lol) but i did come to realize that, infjs and enfps do actually have the same function order, but opposite attitudes,
      Infj >> Ni- Fe- Ti- Se
      Enfp>>Ne- Fi- Te- Si
      same for infps and enfjs
      so an enfp can behave like an infj, and vice versa, i can contemplate upon me behaving like an infj.. good thoughts

  • @stephensharper4312
    @stephensharper4312 2 года назад

    Hey Mike, we spoke over Shrikant's Zoom meetup at the start of the pandemic and I meant to tell you this: One of the only parts of departure I have from your work on typology is the notion that ENFJ's feel for all humanity at once where INFJ's have a singular focus. In all my experiences with these types it is INFJ's who feel the pain of all of humanity at once. My INFJ confidants have difficulty, need breaks from or cannot watch the news at all, experiencing it as a huge emotional drain on their empathic tendencies. My ENFJ friends on the other hand don't watch the news because of lack of interest in the information presented or straight up Ni distrust for it. ENFJ Joe Rogan is almost single handedly destroying mainstream media because of his lack of trust for it while providing his content as an alternative. My father, who is an INFJ, lives by the line "who is a man, who does not make the world a better place?"
    So here's how I see it. INFJ's Ni causes them to abstract the suffering of the entire world and feel it at once while their general aversion to groups causes them to focus on one person at a time. ENFJ's have a general disinterest in world affairs choosing instead to try and see and change the world they immediately live in and thus feel for the people in their immediate sphere of influence or the 'people in the room'. Best

    I had a question, i'm an enfj and i've been learning about this for years, started with Keirsey's books, then following the cognitive type website, looking into visual reading, reading some of jung's works and even looking into eeg scans and how they can reveal different functions in the neocortex. As an enfj, am i duping myself into thinking that i've been training my Ti more so, so that it's not so lacking? In other words, if someone is aware of a function they have that may be lacking in some way, is it possible to become more familiar with it and sort of even the scales a little? I tried to do this by getting closer to dominant thinking types, both intps and intjs, and honestly i do sense a difference. When big decisions or distressing situations arise i sense myself responding more calmly than i was when i was younger, and i can tell i'm thinking things through quite a bit more. It has even effected my sense of humor and i've also heard it has almost negatively impacted my first impressions on people because i tend to seem less quick to smile and shake hands. I just wanted to pick your brain to see if you think such a thing is possible. Not that i think having Fe dominance is a weakness by any means, I'm just working at being as balanced as i can be. Trying to feed my Ni everything i can as objectively as possible. I would greatly appreciate your response.

    • @MichaelPiercePhilosophy
      @MichaelPiercePhilosophy  9 лет назад +3

      Jordan Hawes Hey! Finally getting to you. Sorry for the delay. Unfortunately, I can't tell you anything for certain in that area: at this point I have no way to justify treating function development like any kind of science with for sure cause and effect, only like a philosophy. With that said, I personally agree whole-heartedly that people can become more balanced and healthy in their function expression, and that the best way to do this, in my opinion, is to hang out around people who express that function dominantly. I myself identify with the INFJ personality, while my father identifies strongly with INTP, and being raised by him has really helped develop my Ti to the point that I feel my Fe/Ti is almost on an equal level. But that's only what I feel, and I can't be sure what's going on under the surface. Nevertheless, the best advice I think I can give at this point is what you have already done: to hang out with people who demonstrate the function you want to develop more and have an open mind with them.

    • @Komatik_
      @Komatik_ 9 лет назад

      Jordan Hawes One correction: INTJs don't use Ti, they have auxiliary Te. Their typically critical nature probably helps flex those Ti muscles still.

    • @jordanhawesmusic
      @jordanhawesmusic 9 лет назад +1

      Michael Pierce Thank you very much, I appreciate the response.

    • @jordanhawesmusic
      @jordanhawesmusic 9 лет назад

      Komatik If you notice I just said dominant thinking types, not dominant Ti types. And I didn't mean dominant in the sense of thinking being the first function necessarily, but rather if it was the preferred judgement function.

    • @Komatik_
      @Komatik_ 9 лет назад

      Jordan Hawes I tend to use "Thinking type" or "primary Thinker" or the like in those cases - Thinking dominant has a very specific meaning in typology jargon (ie. that the person is IxTP or ExTJ)

    I got ENFJ when I did the test but I'm not sure if it is the right one for me, I also resonate to a lot of the things about ESFP and ENFP. I know I love things like, adventure, being playful, having fun and showing people arond me a good time, I love flirting and feeling the rush it brings, I love extreme sports, dancing, traveling, music festivals, when I'm in my head I like to imagine a lot of things I want to do etc. I don't like to see people hurt, especially people close to me, it affects me so much and I have to try and fix it, I don't like routine work, I don't like being told what to do if I don't agree or see the point with it, I don't like a lot of theory I am more for learning by doing than studying but I am still decent with theory it's just not what I think is fun, things like coding or learning how to build complicated things would be absolute dread for me. Does this tell you anything about what type I am? Also is there any particular advantage if I know exactly which of theese I am?

    • @yepthatsright9362
      @yepthatsright9362 8 лет назад

      It might seem like I'm always into action but I like to chill too or walk in nature and I have no problem being by myself some days. And I am quite a romantic might I ad. So yeah it just seems like a mix of thoose personalities to me.

But, now I've sought help from many a guru, and now I've tested as ENFJ, I think I'm actually becoming who I am SUPPOSED TO BE as opposed to what I became in response to stimuli. :) Happy to be me, now.
