Looks great, I'll give it a try. Right now my favourite is the Acustica Audio Titanium over the UAD and Softube ones
I never EVER thought a plugin manufacturer would emulate a plugin better than Acustica Audio but Softube Blue Tone is better than Titanium 3 in my opinion. I am really shocked to even say such a thing. IK Multimedia Joe Chiccarelli’s plugin had their CB1 version in there too which sounds good but Softube Blue Tone is the best
My favorite is my UAD Manley Variable Mu native.

I’ve had the Softube Tube-Tech CL-1B for sometime now and somehow it hasn’t clicked with me so far. A comparison between these units would be great. Kiive has got some real good plugins. Tks for the review!

Sounds really good but on the drum bus it's not really my favourite. It sounds really great on the acoustic guitar and a comparison between Softube and Kiive would be very nice. :)

I probably won’t add the Neold or any la2a because it’s too different, the tubetech is absolutely inspired by, but not a direct clone I’d say. For an opto compressor video only that would make more sense. I did do a la2a shootout video a while ago.

Great review as always. I don't know if it's just me, but level of the vocals in the mix was so low compared to the other instruments it was quite to hear what the compressor was doing. I realise the low level of the vocal might right for the genre of the music, but in future there any chance of turning up the vocals to a level more usual for rock/pop/jazz? So we can hear the details better? Or even solo the vocals. Thanks!
Fair point! On this occasion, the vocals are more in the mix because you can judge the dynamic changes better of the vox with the music i found. Later in that part I turn up the compressed vocals a bit.
Sounds pretty solid. Musical... Have you tried using it for parallel compression? How does it hold up when pushed hard like that?
Is it possible you make a comparison video kiive Xtressor vs kiive compressor conplexx vs this one? Would be interesting which one is the "BETTER" one and which one of these 3 would be best at which task. Like for example the Xtressor each on every channel separately and the complexx better for mastering? With the xtressor I have every good experience it is THE comp for me to go! But now I got an eye out to the complexx 😂😂😂 I THOUGHT using the UAD LA2A teletronix for vocals but now I see this tube plugin 😂😂😂
They are all different flavors. Educating yourself about the units topology and learning what the use cases are for the original modelled hardware, as well as a long time spent with experimentation, will give you the experience/knowledge you seek. It takes time
