I came across this regarding hoc and illigal process of dr eagle by the birds act. Absolutely priceless even the BBC gets a mention. Well done to all you made my evening .diolch
Ian , it was a great argument , but i have some questions, firstly how did you do research, how did you frame your arguments and also what kind of arguments if used can give us advantage over our competitors
This young man deserves to go fat, not just in the Law but in Academia too. Wish he had been around when I was studying, but at least we had the legendary DESMOND DUNPHY, and still have RAY SNOW.
I’ve no idea how I stumbled into this and ended watching the whole video. I really enjoyed your persuasive argument but you could have avoided being too obsequious. I wonder what the outcome was?
Absolutely Hugo, I would say: 1) when you are reading moot problem scenarios, try to focus in on the primary legal issues (there is a tendency to read a problem and thank of all of the possible solutions; don't do this). Zero in on the novel issue. 2) With your research, and depnding on the area of the law and your jurisdiction, the follow authorities should be consulted: Statutory law, Common law, foreign jurisdiction case law and Academic Journal Articles. 3) Once you have tackled the problem and conducted your research, start applying. Always revisit the questions which are posed to you - you are answering those questions for the judge. 4) When you are preparing your bundle, you have to prepare all of the above authorities I mentioned in (2). These must be printed and organized and neatly for the judge(s). When making your arguments in moot court, you are walking the judge through these authorities - so they should be neatly tabbed and easy for the judge to refer throughout your arguments. 5) Rehearse in front of your law school colleagues - rehearse and rehearse and rehearse and even more. The more you embrace the concepts, the better the delivery and more rewarding the experience. Good luck

I’m just about to start my LLB. This was very impressive.

One thing I learned from this man is how to respectfully put your argument.

Much appreciated Frank! Definitely exploring some post-law school options in economics and policy development here in Toronto!

The side that the speaker in the video is on (I think the respondents) won (its been 4 years tho so you probably know this already)
Ian I’m a first year law student is there any advice you can give to get good at mooting?

Imagine how much taxpayers money could be saved if we done a heads and tails coin toss and whatever side it landed on that side would win.
