      Would love to see you going over your own investment journey in CRE. Walking through some real deals and go through some your models and returns. I think that's what draw most people to CRE in the first place.

      Capital Markets would be nice to see. When is your best guess to when we see more acquisition roles? Seems like Fed may cut later and more shallow than market expected just a month ago but hoping we start to see more by Summer or EOY

    This is great! Currently in accounting at a real estate private equity firm, and all I want to do is break into the acquisitions side. They just have it so much better in every facet imaginable… I have work to do!

    Thanks Justin! I been watching your videos since college and after 1.5 years on the debt side at a big bank, I’m finally in acquisition! I have been learning a ton from your videos and courses from udemy. Thank you again!

    I'm Nigerian and the market is quite different, but still, this was really useful. I also want to break into real estate acquisitions job, and even though I have been working as a research analyst, I realized late last year that I was not necessarily doing activities that were the most relevant to my goal - financial modelling. So I decided to learn more and here I am! Thank you again for this!

    This is awesome and has been the general consensus in my networking conversations as well. It seems like most of those big names are not holding their typical analyst programs at the moment. What would you recommend someone who's trying to break into CRE at present after 5 years of working in finance?

    Hey Justin, i got my first job in an investment sales analyst role out of college (in large part thanks to your academy) and have been here for about six months. A recruiter reached out to me about an asset management position at a major developer in the same market and I'm wondering what you think about exploring that as an option. The IS shop I work for now is small and mostly focused on private capital and family office and I thought getting in at a larger company, seeing more institutional deals, tracking operations, and learning about realistic development cost assumptions, to your points in the video, would be helpful.
    Thanks!

    How do you see a role in valuations after being certified with CG transferring into acquisitions?

    • @BreakIntoCRE
      @BreakIntoCRE  4 месяца назад +1

      Definitely transferable skills coming from valuations - I would focus on trying to learn more about how PE firms look at deals, equity waterfall structures, and the operations/value creation side of CRE. These are some videos worth watching on these topics (if you haven't already):

    Where do I go after the Acquisitions role within a family office?

    • @BreakIntoCRE
      @BreakIntoCRE  4 месяца назад

      Once you have acquisitions experience under your belt, you could move to a larger PE firm or start your own shop if interested, but it may be worth exploring if there are profit-sharing opportunities internally. More senior-level acquisitions roles often include fee or profit-sharing agreements, which could be worth discussing with internally if you like the company you're working for and see upside within the firm.
      Good luck!
