Tamu Murata, the drummer, is drum royalty. Before Nemophila, she was already a highly sought out session musician as well as releasing her own music. She’s also a lecturer/instructor for Saila Drum School. Some of the best musicians in Japan have been hosted on her RUclips channel jamming with her in her jam room studio.💪🏻🤘🏻
My Metal song of the year! Just perfect, especially that class breakdown and double especially THAT drum fill. Adabana (アダバナ) refers to any flower which doesn't bear fruit or a metaphor for something that is meaningless or fails to meet its fullest potential.
Tamu Murata (Murata Ai's nickname - "Murata Tamu" sounds like a drum roll when pronounced in japanese "mulatatam") led me to Nemophila - I was already following her before because she's an incredible drummer. And she sings too, plays piano, guitar, bass and even sax. Perfect musician.
Glad you are enjoying Nemophila. For different styles from them try; "Life", "Style", "Raitei", "Night Flight" and "Hypnosis". They do have live vids, including online live shows that they did during COVID (no audience in the venue).
My favorite band, too. Technical chops, versatility, and charisma by the ton. And if anything, they are even better live. I was lucky to have seen them at Whiskey a Go Go in July, coming back for another dose in San Francisco in March.
For another of the drummer Tamu's masterpiece, check out HYPNOSIS, RAITEI and 鬼灯 (Hozuki) ...and add those magnificent drumming with impressive cymbal works, check out their first original song release, OIRAN, and recently released STYLE.
I think you need to see Oiran live at Naon Yaon. It's pretty good quality but moreover totally captures the ferocity and energy of Nemophila. As others have said, there are no bad songs. Tamu is a next level drummer and has such variety in her playing. Her and Akane from Band-Maid have become two of my personal faves. I am so glad you are enjoying this wonderful band. Their covers are damn good too!!
NEMOPHILA at mil power with both wicks lit and full afterburner now. Agree, this track tops DISSENSION for me as well among their heavy tracks. TAMU putting her edge on this following the doom break down and then SAKI and HAZUKI extending the solo section takes this to the next level. Every side of their many sides are fire. 🌸✨🌠
very nice reaction! Glad you love Nemophila so much because they are really awesome :) In this vein, I have another suggestion for you that I'm sure you'd love: Saiseiga - "Ride On" They are another Japanese metal band, 2 ladies, 2 guys, really great, just much less well known. Another amazing one would be MergingMoon - "Greyen" (live clip official) because Yu Umehara is just absolute insanity of a vocalist and the song is just amazing as well!
It's a masterpiece! Also nemophila is not a metalcore band, although some of their songs are metalcore style, but they can't be defined as any one genre, because their music jumps across many genres, as you listen to more of their songs Then you will understand.
In Dissension, Mayu's screams were much more post processed during production. Here is more natural. For drum fills, Tamu and Bandmaid's Akane are my favourite. Especially Akanes's fills, she's very creative in creating new stuff and rarely does the same fill in a song. And they both play with beaming smiles! 😊
I’m pretty sure it’s ok to have your own favorite Nemophila style - you won’t be disappointed as they have a few and have a few songs representing each now. Slower, faster, cleaner, dirtier, softer and heavier. There isn’t anything they’ve done that I’ve really not liked, their album has no “skip” tracks, which is uncommon these days. I think it’s pronounced My-oo sort of half way between ewe and U at the end, if you can imagine that. There’s no question Tamu is an exceptional drummer but she’s not alone in this genre. As you watch more you’ll notice Haruna of LOVEBITES and Marina of Aldious are pretty special as well as a few others. Tamu is proving she’s pretty amazing in Nemophila though - and she smiles a LOT - her and Haraguchi-san are known as “laughing thunder” very appropriately.
Nice reaction, Nemophila has been my favorite since Jan, 2020. They are making it big and I cannot wait for their US tour in 2023. Doing a reaction to their live version of LIFE should be next on your list. I do enjoy seeing all of these reactions and getting their music heard and listened to. Keep going down that rabbit hole my friend and enjoy the ride. Peace. ✌🤘
3 Japanese female bands are going to make it big: Nemophila, Lovebites, and Band-Maid. It's going to happen. There might be more... but these 3 are guaranteed to go big.
From your comments in the video, there are three things I got to say about this: - 1. The lead singer's name is closely pronounced (in English word terms) as "My You". (Note that I used the word "closely" 😛). 2. You should really check out the history of the band and how it was formed. Most bands start off with a bunch of unproven, unknown musicians and make it big through their musical abilities. Not this band though. At the point of formation, all the members were already pretty well-known in the scene, with many of them already playing in other bands. It's almost like a super-group, but I believe the singer Mayu and the drummer Tamu were not in a band at that point. (Correct me if I got this bit wrong please, people). 3. Since you clearly have an affinity for drums, I thought I'd just alert you to the drummers of note from Japan. Ai Murata (nicknamed herself Murata Tamu) is definitely one of them. Another popular drummer (only 13 years old, she just migrated to the United States) goes by the name of Yoyoka Soma. Regarded as a RUclips darling, she is totally worth checking out. Other young drummers that you should look into include Kanade Sato, Senri Kawaguchi and Junna. Those are just the drummers that do not belong to any bands currently. After that, there are simply too many amazing drummers coming out of that place, most of them already snapped up by bands.
You should check out "Oiran". It's their heaviest song. It's literally metalcore. It even ends with a heavy ass breakdown at the end. It's my personal favorite as I also am a big metalcore fan. You would love it.
I recommend Hypnosis, it's great too. ruclips.net/video/k7iF1BZ36cU/видео.html The pronunciation of the band's name and all its members can be heard in the Oiran live recording. The band introduces Keiko Terada (singer of Show-Ya, legend) at the beginning, and mayu finally introduces everyone. Muratatam (Murata Tamu is more commonly used), Haraguchi-san, Hazuki, Chaki (usually Saki), mayu. By the way, see them live. Oiran is their first song. This performance is at an empty amphitheater (COVID). I also recommend their covers. Usually they sound like their songs, although they are always very close to the original, e.g. Iron Maiden - Aces High ruclips.net/video/IoQAvpiIdNw/видео.html
As you work your way through there tracks you will find there all this good .I followed from the start and i can not pick a top song may be top 10 equal fave .Tamu on the drums realy went to work here every member is off the scale with talent in this band .They are not real thought of as a metal core band although they do have the heavy side to most of there songs .Dig in to there YT any tracks will do there isnt a bad one there .And yes they can do it all live .Thanks for looking into more Nemo and props to sorting out how to say there name 👍
Mayu is pronounced MAH-yoo. The ‘a’ sound in Japanese is always pronounced ‘ah’ like in the words far, saw and tar. So the song title is also pronounced ah-dah-BAH-nah. Favorite Nemophila song for me.
If you like mix of clean and harsh vocals you can check Japanese band "Broken by the Scream". Essentially, they are 3 mans playing instruments (drums, bass and guitar) and 4 girls singing. The catch is that they have 2 "clean vocals", one "high pitch screamer" and one low "growler"! That funny mix should be hard to work, but somehow, it sounds just awesome! For start, I recommend their older song "Sayonara Birthday", but you could check any song of them, really... They have live videos, also, because you could be sure that any Japanese band could do live, without problem, what they did in studio! I'm European, but a great fan of Japanese bands!
Son las mejores sucesoras de SHOW-YA, 1banda femenina de heavy metal japonés y madrinas entre otras de Nemophila, Mary's Blood, Gacharic Spin, Scandal, etc (Fairy, Look at Me, Genkai Lovers, One Way Heart, Gambling, Kurenai, Battle Express, Shooting Star, JAM, etc)
All I can say is my ears and brain are Scrambled 😁😁😁😁😁 I Absolutely love nemophila I'm 62 yrs old and have loved the metal scene since 9 yrs old PANTERA were always top for me closely followed by led zep as the years have passed lamb of god blew me away and opeth plus alot of other metal core bands but after discovering nemophila back in 2019 dude these girls are bad ass live they are insanely tight the vocals are well amazing the drums amazing the bass amazing the lead guitarists brain scrambling amazing love your reactions you make it fun and entertaining but also honest great job dude 👍🤘
It's time... I don't see any "Jinger" in your play list... Looking for "Metal Core", this Ukranian Metal core band will bring you home. Most people start out with their song "Pieces". Good choice but I think you should start out with the song "Teacher, Teacher"...
"Dissension" was my first their song and it was favourite song. But I think "Adabana" becomes favourite now. I love this song. You should try the other side of Nemophila. Listen to the song "Life". This song is so emotional that everyone in the band is crying during it. It will impress you. Thank you for your reaction. Waiting for new reactions to Nemophila, Lovebites and BAND-MAID. And try the band Hanabie - it is another all female Japanese band. They are awesome if you love Metalcore. "We love sweets" you can find on their own channel by writing【花冷え。】-我甘党- (WE LOVE SWEETS) Music Video【HANABIE.】(add:English Lyrics)

Thanks for coming back to Nemophila (and for sorting out the pronunciation!). This is certainly one of my favorite songs by them.
Haha you looked into the cam so often I thought you'd miss the fact that she was in heels, but you noticed it the last second of the song XD

Love this song. I can not wait til March to see them in NYC!

Tamu (drummer) is my favourite drummer before I know Nemophila!! Her secret weapon is her cuties smile!! 😍😍😆😆👍🏻

Great call on Saiseiga and Merging Moon! Love 'em both.
A couple other up-and-coming bands in the J-metal scene: Hagane and Little Lilith.
@@DavidKAnderson thanks! Always nice to meet someone who knows and appreciates them :)

We're the same this song is on my top favorite from Nemophila 🎸 Still waiting you to check the band Hanabie, Harajuku style🤘🌸🎌

For the fun side of Tamu, check out her song with Ladybeard called "D & D"
TAMA MURATA .... SAN.... JEJEJEJE DESDE BILBAO..BIENLLEGADO...🤩
There is no doubt this track rates as bad ass.
Mayu is pronounced MAH-yoo. The ‘a’ sound in Japanese is always pronounced ‘ah’ like in the words far, saw and tar. So the song title is also pronounced ah-dah-BAH-nah. Favorite Nemophila song for me.
The letter a in far, saw, and tar does not sound like AH. Try the words Papa or Mama instead.

There are insufficient words to describe the wonder of Japanese female rock/metal bands.
